After booking my 2012 trip while in Canada (on a weekend vacation), I had no idea that I was on the Canadian website (I live in the US) so I called WDW today.
Spent 2 hours on the phone. Spoke to 3 supervisors and multiple Cast Members. I was told you are breaking no rules or voiding any contract if you do this from outside Canada and in the US. One person likened it to your local
walmart selling a product for 10 bucks and youfinding it on walmarts website for 8 bucks. Another said it happens all the time and it is completely ok to do. There is no rule or anything else limiting it to Canadians. They. Also said you will not be looked down upon or should not feel as if you are cheating Disney. The offer is out there and people who find it are free to use it. It is no different than people who try to get pin codes by saving vacation offers or ordering planning cds. Hope this helps others.
I should also point out that twice it was told to me that "It is not a CANADIAN discount. It is an offer on the Canadian WDW website".
Now for rumor, it was also mentioned that this is likely going to be offered to the main Disney website eventually and if I was really paranoid I should just cancel this reservation at that time and rebook one but I really don't need to because this won't be a problem and my reservation looks just like any other.
This is completely legit and others are reporting the same thing. If you want to "guarantee"
free dining, book it now. I guess you can google "Disneyworld.ca" and it is the first thing that comes up. The free dining offer for September 2012 is right there. You don't have to be Canadian. Again, nothing states you must be Canadian which is what differs it from the Florida Resident discount which clearly states "FOR RESIDENTS OF FLORIDA ONLY".
