September 2011 - We are going to Disney World {THIS MONTH}! (Third Thread)

Were you there today? We were there from 10:30 - 3:30 or so :cloud9:
We were there from about 10:30 until 1. We did all the tube rides but the family one and DH went down most of the water slides. We also played in the wave pool for a while. We don't tolerate the sun so we don't sit out:yay:

I am so excited!

Tomorrow at this time we will be at the airport getting ready to board our plane! It's finally almost time! :cool1:

:cheer2::banana::dance3::yay:
Finished all my client meetings, and am part way through my work. Can't wait to finally pack tomorrow. DS's teacher sent home a packet of homework for him to do today - in a sealed envelope addressed to me. I had to think up an excuse quick of why his teacher was sending me stuff :scared1: I don't think he has a clue though :)

Yay! That is exciting. I only have little carry on things to pack after the kids go go sleep....early I might add. Then tomorrow is a half day of school. I am so bad. I am a teacher and didn't even ask for make up work since we will only miss Friday for school. Thursday we had off any way. So excited! Hope you enjoy your trip. The Poly is great. Maybe I will see you in the World.

Have a great day! Hope it stays that empty for us :thumbsup2

Hey, how have the love bugs been? I don't mind a few bugs, but don't want them interfering with my activities (lounging by the pool, beach etc) :rotfl:

YAY!!! :yay: It's finally here for you two! I hope you both have magical vacations! :dance3:

We are finally bringing up the rear. This has been fun group. Thanks for making the time go by so much faster! Tomorrow afternoon we are on our way! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Have a fantastic time!!! Please come back and tell us about it!

We are back! We got home around 9PM Sunday. We had a great time but it was definitely harder and different with a toddler! We were vacationed out but certainly not Disney'd out!

A few thoughts: It was HOT! We probably won't go in September again, especially since it seemed more crowded than I had expected. We had some long lines for meeting characters but really didn't wait very long for rides. We did wait 20 mins for POTC on our last day though, and that's long to me!

MNSSHP was awesome and we watched both parades. We only met the Dwarfs though as there was just too much to do. We did both Haunted Mansion magic shots for the Photopass but only the hearse made it onto our photo pass card :sad2:. We'd go again to the MNSSHP when DD is older, like maybe around 8.

The lovebugs were NOT bad at all, only saw a few flying around. There were a lot of dead ones on the railings at POR though, and a few made it into our room. I'm glad I knew about them before going but they were not a big deal at all.

My DD loved meeting the characters and ran up to each one without hesitation. She wanted to make sure they signed her book even though she didn't know what they were doing! Highlights were meeting Mary Poppins, Alice and Phineas & Ferb. It was difficult with her because she'd want to walk or be carried and only wanted me to carry her, not her dad. Also, we'd go into a gift shop to get out of the heat and she'd yell "Outside, outside!" Crazy girl. She did well on the flights and sleeping at the resort too.

I'm a little depressed that the trip is done and we can't go back until at least 2013! I am having withdrawal.

jdd, the love bugs aren't bad at all! We've seen them, but it's not in large amounts. We did DHS today. By far my least favorite park, hands down. Its saving grace? RnR! Man, what a ride!:lovestruc We left around four, because the heat was blistering today and we were wiped out. Within 15 minutes of getting back to Pop, all four of us were asleep. This is a major accomplishment, because I just don't nap. I have to be sick to nap!:rotfl2: We're touring the AK tomorrow, and I have a feeling this'll be the favorite all-around park. We're nature and conservation buffs, and we really enjoy outdoor exploration trails a lot. My youngest DD is an animal fanatic, so I know she's going to be preoccupied!:thumbsup2 Headed to shower and bed, RD comes early!:woohoo:

Thanks for letting me know!! I have to agree - DHS is, at most, a half day park for us. We'll be riding RnR for the first time this trip - can't wait

I love AK - just the whole relaxed, laid back feel - very different than the rush of MK. I really think they did a great job on that park :thumbsup2

That's okay, I don't post a whole lot! We are at CBR. I can't wait! Dad is only about 2hrs away, so we'll be there before noon on Thursday.

Oh, I love CBR!:cloud9: My only regret about being a family of five is that we can't stay at CBR in one room!! I know we could do two rooms, but the pricing makes more sense to go deluxe. We stayed in Jamaica, and my favorite morning ritual was taking a walk across the island (something Cay??) to get us breakfast from the food court. It's such a lush, beautiful resort.

Have a great time - maybe we'll see you in the parks :thumbsup2

We are finally bringing up the rear. This has been fun group. Thanks for making the time go by so much faster! Tomorrow afternoon we are on our way! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

How are you doing this morning?? My stomach is full of (excited) butterflies! I'm listening to DisRadio, trying to finish up my work, but I keep jumping up to get something else I forgot :rotfl: I'm having a really hard time concentrating! Drove DS to school this morning - he's complaining that he has to be picked up this afternoon - wanted to ride the bus - little does he know I need him home so we can get to the airport  Oh, I hope he's excited!!

Look for us in the parks - we'll be two ladies (my sister and I) with two tweens - one girl, one boy. My son is pretty distinctive with red hair and freckles - and probably wearing some type of Pittsburgh sport t-shirt!!

I'm so excited for everyone who will be leaving soon. And I love hearing all the live reports from people who are there now!

Your mention of DisRadio gave me butterflies. I haven't had a chance to listen to Disney on Live365 since we've been back from our trip....I need to hear some park music again! I will probably watch the Carousel of Progress on You Tube, too!

I'm just waiting for Disney to release special offers for next winter, so we can book our trip!!

I'm so glad that you had a great trip! I'm glad the love bugs aren't too bad right now. They were really bad near the end of our trip. There were only a few when we got there on the 7th, but swarms by the time we left on the 16th. That's a bummer about the Photopass! It's so cute about your daughter. I was nervous about my youngest son being scared of the characters, but he LOVED them and did the same as your daughter. :goodvibes

Have fun at AK!!!

Just popping in to say hi!!!

We got back at about 3:30pm on Sunday. We wanted to be able to relax once we got home before hitting reality again.

We had a fantastic time!!! AKV was awesome...as usual! We really like Bay Lake Tower, too. I didn't think the crowds were that bad. We didn't really wait for anything except for the time that DH's family arrived at AK right as we were coming off the safari and wanted to do the safari before we did anything else, so we got right back on. That wait was about 20 minutes.

Food was wonderful. Victoria & Albert's was, by far, the best dining experience I've ever had. It was so relaxing and the food was spectacular! We did end up cancelling Whispering Canyon Cafe because it looked like it was going to storm and we didn't want to get caught trying to get from WL to BLT.

We watched Wishes from TOTW twice. You really can't beat the view and not having to deal with hordes of people. I'd love to do it again.

We are trying to decide what dates we are going to go in 2012. We already have January booked and I know we want to go in Sept. I've never seen the holiday decorations, so I'm thinking we'll try to get there in Nov or Dec, too.

I'm having mega WDW withdrawals this week.

Hey L-Harper, we had a near dis-meet in the lobby at POP. I was sitting and waiting for my younger daughter to arrive on ME about 11:30 am on the 16th when you and your family walked by wearing the t-shirts you made. One of the guys was in the stroller. I would have said "HI!", but it looked like you were on a mission. I also wasn't completely sure it was you guys until I saw the pic. now in your profile. You've done so much for this thread, I just wanted to offer a :worship::worship::worship:!
