September 2011 - We are going to Disney World {THIS MONTH}! (Third Thread)

I didn't run into ANY DISers, boo! We did Epcot yesterday afternoon, sort of our last hurrah. We're packed and leaving this morning.:sad2:Honestly, I'm almost relieved. I somehow have contracted what looks like cellulitis up and down both of my legs, it developed our first night here. I am struggling to walk normally, which has been rough the last couple of days.:sick:I need to see the doctor when we get home, double boo!:scared1:
Oh no! Yes, please get that looked at by a doctor, so that it can be treated before getting any worse.

Can't wait to hear about more of your trip when you get back! Have a safe trip home!

Ewww. That's awful! Sure hope it goes away and just the happy memories linger!

We're home:sad1: it went by way too quickly. DD got rea,ly sick while we were there. she ran a fever for a whole day and was up the who,e night literally screaming. It was an alternating pattern of crying and shrieking. I thought for sure we were going to get kicked out. I had to call a doctor to come examine her in our room...for $300 :scared1: She had a viral sore throat and was better by the afternoon thank goodness. I came down with a sinus infection that quickly developed into bronchitis but we made the best of it and now I am home resting up.

Now to start planning for next year! We are doing October. September was just way too hot and humid.

Oh no that stinks!! :scared1:

I hope you have a good time on the 2nd leg of your trip. Try to sleep over the bridges.

Glad your mom is doing better ShhhQ! And that is awesome about maybe getting to go next year with a friend!! I think your mom will realize it's too much for her on down the road and just wish you and your friend a good trip.:thumbsup2

I cannot believe how many illnesses have befallen our little September group! Seriously! Get better people!! (please:hug:)

We totally missed the photo ops at HM. Well, I saw the line and wondered what all the commotion was about. I don't think we got enough pics on our CD to warrant the cost, so probably will only order a couple of 5x7s. Haven't had time to look at it yet, so I could be wrong. There was a puzzle I meant to buy, but forgot about it. Thought I could just order it from the Disney store, but no such luck. Guess I'll have to make a trip down to get it.;) It would look so great in our soon to be finished Disney-themed basement.

Hope everyone takes advantage of the next thread L Harper is going to set up. Let's hear more Disney stories!:yay:

We got back early this morning (1am!). Our flight was late taking off and was diverted due to storms in Dallas (go figure after months of drought LOL). We had a blast but I can honestly say I am glad to be home. Disney is not a "relaxing" vacation!

We are dealing with some sort of cold or something but not too bad. I had 2 days where I felt really run down but manage to push through. Still dont have my voice back completely. Hope everyone else had/is having a great time. I will be blogging and posting pictures soon.

Oh quick question: About 3 days into our trip I started getting these dime sized rashes on my arms. I have 3 on one sides and 2 on the other and spaced about 6" apart. They itch when I get hot but other than that they dont really bother me and arent really visable. Any thoughts on what they are? They are just about gone, though still a bit itchy.

How odd, Sillylily mentioned getting a skin infection that sounds serious and I had a light rash that covered from my knees down during our stay, but it went away when I got home. I though maybe I had an allergy reaction to the Disney laundry soap.

Hope your 100% soon

My breakdown of the Disney Deluxe Upgrade and whether we thought it was worth the cost

That's a really nice summary. We've never done the Deluxe before, but I agree it would be hard to justify it time-wise and cost-wise. I know alot of people mention the feeling of being "forced" to eat all those meals and snacks, at the risk of losing your "investment"!

Thanks for the info!

Thanks for the review! We have only used the reg DP once (free of course)and still hated the time restrictions and tip aspect. It seemed like every meal took way too much time away from playing.

My daughter will probably do a few days of deluxe on her disneymoon (no date yet ) since they will have 2 weeks and won't feel rushed.

On another note....I can't wait until LHarper gets the next thread going. I want to hear how everyone is coming along on their photobooks (if you booked the memories package.) We have some pretty creative people here...cough basketkat cough. (just to mention one)

well we started the drive home today. We are staying overnight in NC and then doing the second leg of the trip tomorrow. So sad lol we have the Disney blues. We both cried a little this morning when we left haha. We ran into another family in Georgia at a McDonalds at lunch time who also just left Disney and they were also suffering from the Disney blues. it's funny how we disney folks find each other even when we aren't at Disney anymore.

I think we are going to plan another trip for the end of January 2012. We can't stand to wait a whole year to go back lol. We are thinking of getting a studio at OKW or BW. We have stayed at OKW before and we love it there but thought maybe we would try something different. Since it will just be the three of us the studio room should be fine for us.

We did love BLT though. The MK view was spectacular and we are totally spoiled lol. The room was really nice and the cast members were great.

DD got so many great birthday surprises. We came back to the room the one day to a nice birthday card from mickey with a special cinderella pin and a voice mail from mickey and minnie singing happy birthday. DD was absolutely thrilled to death.

It was an amazing trip. One of the best trips we've ever had. Lots of special pixie dust moments.... just the little things that really made it special and some AMAZING character interactions.

But I don't think we will go again in september. WAYYYYYYYY too hot for my liking. The heat just took so much out of us and it was hard to enjoy our time because we were always dripping with sweat and suffering in the heat.

I will do a trip report when we get home and post pictures and such. I will also be writing a letter to disney with special mentions for the cast members who went above and beyond to make our trip special... there are quite a few lol. For example... we went to MK monday and DD met the princesses. The next day we had the princess lunch at the akershus and it just so happened that Belle and Snow white were the same Belle and snow white from the previous day and BOTH remembered DD from their meeting the day before. that just amazed me considering they probably see hundreds if not thousands of children everyday. So for them to remember her and make special mention of it was so thrilling for her (and me LOL)

One of the coolest parts of the trip was pick a pearl. We picked two and the first oyster they opened up had a silver blue pearl inside :scared1: it is STUNNING.

I will be sure to post photos but for now I am BEAT so it's bedtime for me lol

I hope all who are travelling home stay safe and all those who are on their way or at the world are having the time of their lives.

After spending a week totally immersed in magic and pixie dust it's going to be hard to go back to reality land. It's like withdrawls lol

I am DH to Sparks19.

All I am going to say for now is I am 'born again' Disney. Hands down, the most MAGICAL vacation ever.

I liked and understood Disney before. Its a new LOVE for me now. This redneck actually walked around the world in a home made camo "mickey ears" hat. DW made it for me. :)

Safe travels all.

LOL It's true. he got SO many comments on his hat hahaha. Disney is really missing out on a market here. Everyone kept asking where he got his hat and people even recognized us from previous meetings at other parks lol. Cast members loved it. So if you see camo mickey ear hats in the future... think of me. I started it :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

I am thinking about DxDP for our next trip, but we have TIW so I have to check costs.

I missed Basketkat today. We were in MK and DHS at the same time, but at different places..... BOOOO!

Ooh, I'd love to see pictures of the pearl! I still haven't done pick-a-pearl yet, and I'm hoping we have a chance to do it next time. I love watching those videos on YouTube!
