September 2011 - We are going to Disney World {THIS MONTH}! (Third Thread)

Hi everyone!!! We got back last evening and had to go full steam ahead today into school and activites and we're all still super tired but we had a wonderful time! I'm not doing a TR so here's a mini-review:

First time flying SW airlines, got the end of A boarding passes and boarding the plane was very efficient and we had no problems getting seats together and flights both ways were smooth and on-time! We arrived at Pop before 1pm on Tuesday. We had done online check-in previously and our room was ready and all of our requests were met: 1st floor, 50's, Building 1 We were on the backside this time and were facing the quiet pool which turned out to be really convenient for swimming and laundry(DH does the laundry)...we didn't even go over to the Hippy Dippy pool. I decorated my window but we were in a out of the way location so not sure if anyone saw my decorations. Mousekeeping was great, we got a couple of towel animals, bus service great at pop as usual and weather was amazing the whole week, only rained once for a couple of hours later in the week but we were prepared with our ponchos!

In the mornings at RD crowds were minimal and wait times for rides were low...the worst though was Wednesday evening at closing, one of the few nights they were showing Wishes and MSEP that week, the crowds were We ended up walking to the Contemporary and taking a cab to Pop and we were sooo grateful that we did. We were back to our resort in no time and it was money well spent!

We enjoyed our stay at Pop but we loved the BC! We cabbed it over from Pop to BC at 7:30 am on Friday morning (again we had done on-line check-in) and bonus our room was ready We loved the location, being able to walk to Epcot and the Boardwalk, and boating to DHS, and SAB really was an amazing pool! My daughters loved the Albatross Pirate cruise and we were able to take advantage of the Sandcastle club for four hours one night while DH and I had some Margaritas in La Cava The girls loved it and could have stayed even longer if we had let them.

Lovebugs were icky, especially later in the week. Our balcony at the BC was covered in them so I didn't get to take full advantage of that as I would have liked but we were on the move a lot anyways! In the afternoons we took advantage of fast passes and and it made things go very smoothly.

We're sad to be home but we had another magical vacation! So excited for all of you that are leaving soon!

I used a bobby pin to make the white dots, and a black nail pen to draw the bows. I was nervous my right hand would look crazy since I'm right handed...but I think they turned out okay considering! LOL

Our house is complete chaos. The kids are dressed already because we have such an early flight and my son is bouncing (litterally) off of everything! We have to wake up around 6am tomorrow. Here are my monkeys with their shirts on and holding up our final paint chip from the calendar!

Yay! It's great to hear that you had such a great time! The lovebugs go tworse and worse when we were there too, I can only imagine how they are now.

So glad to hear that!

Last night was MNSSHP. Sooooo many people! We staked out great spots for the 2nd parade on the curb and ate dinner there, then ran over and snagged front row for the last villians mix and mingle. We rode tons of walk on rides early and did several of our photo ops and trick or treating after 11:30, when there were no lines for candy and the dwarves were only a 15 minute wait.
The only preparty line we joined was for Flynn and whats-her-name. He didn't disappoint!

We were also at the Tuesday night MNSSHP and I was shocked at how crowded it was! I really excpected it to be lighter crowds, but it was much busier than the one we went to in October a couple of years ago. We had a great time, though, and got to do/see everything we wanted to!

It's going to be a crazy week - my calender continues to fill up with appointments (just found out oldest DS needs to have concussion testing done since he's on the high school soccer team, and middle DS just said he thinks he has a cavity ). Trying to fit all this in before we leave next Wednesday. Because my kids are so spaced, they're currently in three different schools (elementary, middle and high school), so we have three different sets of meetings - open houses, PTA, etc. It's just been a crazy September! Can't wait to finally sit down on that plane and realize we're on vacation

We are driving to lorton, Va, spending the night and boarding the auto train tomorrow. We'll be in Florida at 9:30 Sunday morning. Any ideas for a park that day?
I couldn't sleep last night because I was running through my mind what I need to get done today
Am I packing enough clothes? What should I bring on the train? What should I bring with us to WDW? Will my oldest son be able to take care of our animals while we're gone? Will my dogs let my neighbor in to let them out once a day? What kind of food/snacks should we take? Why is hubby taking a case of beer with him? Will halloween in Disney scare dd?
Did I lock the back door? etc, etc, etc., you know how it is!

I have 1 more day and I will be heading to the hotel to sleep and fly out Sat!! So excited!! However even though the luggage has been packed for a week, I still have to redo. I keep adding and somehow the luggage will explode. So I must really see if I need it...

Us too! Arriving at the Poly on 9/28 for four nights - we don't get to do BLT though, have to head home after 4 nights. Maybe we'll see you around the volcano pool

I have 1 more day and I will be heading to the hotel to sleep and fly out Sat!! So excited!! However even though the luggage has been packed for a week, I still have to redo. I keep adding and somehow the luggage will explode. So I must really see if I need it...

I need a packing intervention. I just checked almost everything and finished packing and feel like checking to make sure it is all there.

Oh and it is a good thing we do not fly. I have way more bags than I thought I would

I did our online check in for our Southwest flight right at 24 hours and got Boarding Group A~ wahoo! Well...except my youngest...she got Group B. LOL! My friend who recently flew said the same thing happened to her, and they all were able to board with A.

My oldest has tap and jazz tonight...then I have to drop off a key to the person who is staying at our house...then I have to try to sleep before we leave tomorrow at 8 am. I'm thinking I will take a Tylenol PM because I'm WAY to excited to sleep!!!!

I have FINALLY finished my last day of work before we leave! I'm packed (and repacked), my car is vacuumed out, and tomorrow I will finish cleaning the house. At 5 am Saturday, we're out of here! I'm really hoping to run into those of you who are there when we are. I AM SO EXCITED!!!

Hope everyone leaving has an awesome time on vacation. We went to Target tonight for a last minute trip for small things. I am getting so nervous about flying with the kids just because we haven't even flown ourselves in years and have never flown with the kids. I hope it goes smoothly. We have a few more days to go. 6 days to be exact. Hoping next week goes by quickly so we can get on vacation sooner.
