September 2011 - We are going to Disney World {THIS MONTH}! (Third Thread)

We use the same app! :thumbsup2 I too love checking in on the wait times! Seems last week was really slow, hoping it stays that way this week too! :wizard:

:rotfl: That's funny!

Well today we dropped my dog off at my mother's house, we'll miss her while we're gone :guilty: Also stopped at Barnes and Noble and downloaded a few more books to DD's NookColor and picked up a book for myself: Hunger Games, anybody here read it? The sample chapter I read was good!

We're nearly packed and we were trying to pack light but we ended up with 4 checked suitcases, 1 carry-on suitcase, 1 backpack, and 1 stroller...Oh well, we tried LOL! The kids have one more day of school tomorrow then we're off to Disney on Tuesday :yay: Can't wait!

My dd just had to read to Hunger Games for school and she loved it, she's already read other two that go along with it and is ready for the movie! She usually has good taste in books so I think you will like it. :thumbsup2

I LOVE The Hunger Games!!!! It's seriously one of my most favorite series of all time, it's so addicting! I can't wait for the movies to come out!

I'm sure the same thing will happen to me, I don't think it's possible to pack light with a family of 6! I'm going to give it my best though since we'll have to pay $50 for each bag that needs to be checked, and I don't think we can juggle many carry-ons with having to deal with hanging onto two very rambunctious toddlers in the airport! Especially since we're coming from Canada and have a bit more security to get through! I'm so jealous, I can't wait until this week is done and I can post that I'm leaving on Tuesday! :cool1::yay::woohoo:

Ohh, good to hear about the book!:cool1: I'm looking forward to reading it on the airplane...it's been a long time since I've had "me" time and time to read a good book!

This is our first year flying SW so we get the checked bags for free which is so nice! The last 4 years we always flew Airtran and had to pay for our checked luggage so we managed to fit most of our luggage into carry-ons and 1 checked suitcase, but with the extra baggage allowance that just didn't happen this year  The only big drawback is we're switching resorts half way through our stay and all our luggage has to go with us :scared1: We plan on renting a cab to take us from pop to BC but still...should be interesting, lol

And we only have 4 of us, you have 6! I agree, with young kids, less carry-ons is easier to deal with, so you might be better off with more checked baggage!:goodvibes Your trip will be here before you know it :wizard: and mine will be over, but I'm looking forward to hearing about everyone's trips that are later in the month :yay:

Thanks! Sounds like I will be in for more reading once I finish this book!:thumbsup2 OT: When is the movie supposed to come out?

Same here! Oldest DS read the first book in school and then asked me to get him the other two (he's not a huge reader, so this was awesome!). He read all in record time - and really wants me to read them too. I have the first on order at our local library - hoping to get it soon. Happy reading!

Well,.............this time next week I will be grabbing some breakfast at MK.....that sounds so wonderful!! This mornings breakfast is a ltttle different, I have 6 teenage boys here (from the soccer tourney) who will be waking up very hungry. It will be fun, just not as magical! My son won his tournament yesterday with a 3-2 nail biter :cool1:

Way to go boys!!!! :cheer2:

Weather: I just looked at the 10 day forcast for Orlando and I'm kinda sad...I know they get showers periodically through-out the day etc but there are several 60% thunderstorms in the forcast for our time there. Here's hoping it's not as bad as i think it may be. :sad2:

We have heard that bell services will move your bags for you. We are moving from OKW to BLT after the first day so we hope it's true. If they can collect all the bags from the airport and get them where they need to go then they can probably go resort to resort. I guess we'll see how it works out. Otherwise we'll be cabbing it too.:car:

Dont let it bother you to much! I went last year for a week in September and it also had rain and storms forecasted for everyday we were there. We never caught a single shower. The storms are so sporadic and quick that I really wouldnt worry about it. For instance you may get a storm at Magic Kingdom, while the guests in Animal Kingdom had nothing (which was the case our last trip). We really lucked out, but honestly it was so hot a shower might not have been the worse thing! :goodvibes Have a great time on your trip!

One more week of work, now I am starting to get antsy. I booked myself up more than normal so I could fit everything in before I leave.....what was I thinking!!!! I am so not in the work frame of mind......my head is swimming with pixie dust :wizard: Have a great day everyone!!! It's sp fun watching everyones tickers, ticking away!

The waiting is almost over, we leave tomorrow!!!! :dance3::yay::yay::yay:

My girls came into my room at 4:30am this morning and said "Mom, we're going to Disney World tomorrow!" :cutie: They never ended up falling back asleep so we're all a little groggy this morning :surfweb: I wonder how much sleep we'll get tonight, LOL

Thanks! :goodvibes I'm just worried about going so many hours without access to our luggage so we're just going to Cab it over and store our luggage with Bell services...I hope it all works out! We've never done a split stay before so this will all be very new for us. We plan on checking out of Pop by 7:30 am on Friday because we have ressies at Cape May at 8 and then the kids have their pirate cruise from the YC at 9:30. We also have PL and MNSSHP that day so switching day is going to be an adventure, but I can't wait!

I've officially started my last week of work before we leave! Woot!!!

This week is going to be crazy busy, but I think I got most of our packing done last night. Of course, since I'm always stressed about packing, I'll probaby repack everything a couple times before we leave. :thumbsup2

Today is my early day at work. I leave at 3pm to get DD9 to dance. She has dance until 6:30 and I'm *hopefully* going to be able to get in to get a haircut during that time.

Tomorrow is open house at DD9's school, so the evening will be eaten up with that.

DD9 has prepared a menu for a special Disney dinner on Wednesday. Her idea of Disney dinner was Mickey-shaped pizzas and rice krispie treats with mac & cheese and fruit. We have since amended it to a pizza with the pepperoni in a Mickey head shape on it, Mickey-shaped treats, mac & cheese, and fresh mango. It should be fun!

Thursday, we are picking up the rental car, DD9 has dance once again, and doing the last minute stuff. And then, we get to do the regular pre-trip freakout...well, let me amend that..."I" get to do the regular freakout. :lmao:

DH asked me last night what he could do to assist and I told him to just let me freak out and to stay calm while I do it. He said "Consider it done."

Okay, I think this thread jinxed me, because I woke up with a cold this morning :headache:

It should definitely be gone in 16 days, right?!?

Thats exciting!! Cant believe your trip is here already!! Have a great time!! Let Mickey know we will be there soon!!

YAY to everyone heading to the World soon. We've got 12 days, my to-do list is getting shorter, and we get to check in online Weds. I think I'll start the first round of packing tonight too. I throw in everything i think I want @ now, 10 days out, then i repack it 3 days out with the clean laundry. Then the night before i go over it one more time - this time weeds out the extras & "in case" stuff & throw in the laundry detergent. Yup im excited!
Im running the W&D half so there's extra clothes to pack. It'll all work out.

Anyone hear about current crowd levels? Is it the usual free dining crowded?

:banana: WooHoo!!!! We'll be right behind you on Wed. checking in at POP! Maybe we will see you! I requested building 5 facing the lake and will decorate my window with halloween themes and our names on ghosts. When DD#2 arrives on Friday, we will be wearing matching shirts most days, all brunettes (if I get my hair coloured today) :rotfl: and looking way too excited for 3 adults at Disney!!!

PS. My name is Debby, but I'll answer to marblies.

So excited for you!:woohoo::banana::cool1: My oldest one looked at me funny when I said this was my last full work week before we left, before it suddenly dawned on her what I was saying. They're starting to get really excited now! I have 7 work days left before I can blow this Popsicle stand, and focus on our vacation! Oh, please go fast, time!!

I will be right behind you ladies.. we leave on Saturday! Maybe we'll run into one another. We have a pop preferred room, but I made no requests, so I wonder where we'll end up!? :woohoo:

That is so cute :) you guys are going to have so much fun on your trip. can't wait to hear all about it

I can't wait to hear about everyone's trips. I can't believe we are all so close.

13 Days here :cool1::banana: I can't believe we are under the two week mark. I just want to burst with excitement lol

I'm feeling particularly good this morning because everything is falling into place. I went to Michaels this morning and got black foam to make my hubby's camo mickey hat, we got the hat for it yesterday, I got glow bracelets for the kids, got an email from Disneystore saying my order is on the way so it should be here soon, we are meeting a potential new dog/house sitter tonight and if it works out that will be a HUGE weight off my shoulders. We really are almost ready. I'm going to start packing what clothing I can this week.

I have to wrap DD's birthday presents but I think I'll just wrap them at the resort. Maybe I can talk my MIL into wrapping them for me lol since she is the gift wrapping champion of the world. LOL seriously she's a machine. she can wrap up a stack of gifts in like 5 minutes and they look perfect. I take 2 hours and it looks like junk :lmao:

The only bummer right now is I seem to have done something to my knee. it's causing me quite a bit of discomfort but only when I go up and down stairs and such so it's not too big of a deal. I can walk around without any pain at all so that's the important thing I guess lol.
