September 2011 - We are going to Disney World {THIS MONTH}! (Third Thread)

Just stopping in to say bye; our plane leaves in 11 hours!! Hope everyone on their way has a great trip!! :goodvibes
Have a wonderful trip! :wizard:

I just wanted to pop on and say bye... as soon as I get off the computer, we are hitting the road. We stop over in Macon tommorrow nite and I will try to see if I can get on the DIS on my DSI (no laptop or smartphone for me).. I think I was able to last year and we are stopping at the same place. If not safe travels to anyone leaving in the next few days... time to.... :drive:

I can't wait to hear all about!!!
BASKETKAT that is such an awesome wreath (especially the hidden Mickey's)
One week today I will be sitting on a plane, it really feels like time is going at a snails pace!!! My son has his final soccer tournment today and out for a big dinner to celebrate (can I brag? lol He is a really good soccer player!!!) Tomorrow I will begin packing and making a list of all those unusal things to bring (like throat candies, I always get a sore throat around day 6, I'm sure it's from the A/C on the busses :confused3)

Safe travels to everyone leaving soon. I on the other hand feel like death. My head is so full, cough is beginning, and last night a fever! I will deal. I am just praying the kids don't get it. I was supposed to work this weekend bI feel miserable. Really stinks cause I can use the money. After seeing the dentist, the broken tooth is gonna cost me$900. :scared1: arrrggggg! !!!!!!!!! ok so enough crying!!

Love the wreath, maybe I will try that, we'll see if I can handle it!!! :rotfl:

also love the hotel surprise!can't wait to see video! Sorry I am not quoting anyone. Just laying in my bed on my tablet and honestly barely withit enough to type this. Ok yep that's my excuse for any mispellings. Or crazy talk.:lmao:

Please get as much rest as you can, and try some chewable vitamin C tablets to aid in your recovery! Sorry about the dentist bill. That is never welcome news!

:grouphug:

For everyone leaving this weekend, safe travels and have incredible vacations with a lifetime of memories! I'm glad to be here, and able to share your excitement!:grouphug: pinkle, I hope the tournament game goes great!:thumbsup2 Today is going to be a super busy day for us. I'm working a half day, then have a baby shower at 10:30 (praying to make it), a birthday party for one of my younger DDs friends at 12, and a quinceneara for my oldest DDs best friend at 4:30. :scared1: Next weekend will be crazy, but it'll be, "We're packing for Disneyworld!" crazy, so that's better.:rotfl2: Two weeks from now, we'll be packed up and headed to see the Mouse!:lovestruc

Oh so sorry you are not feeling well. Get better soon!

Love the live updates. We did that while we were there in June and it was a lot of fun. This time because we only have 5 days we are just going to update when we get home. We don't want to miss any time while we are there.

Hope everyone has a great Saturday!

Good morning all! :goodvibes

We are super excited here, only 3 more days to go!!!:banana::banana:

We're still not done packing :sad2: DH works nights and he has to work through Sunday night so he's trying to get ready for the trip in between attempting to get a little bit of sleep during the day.

Monday we need to check in for our flights and keeping our fingers crossed for A boarding on SW :wizard: Kids have a full schedule on Monday with school, a field trip, and dance class and I have a mani/pedi appointment that day too so it's going to be a whirlwind right before we leave :upsidedow At least the busy-ness should make the time go by faster!

FortheLoveofDCL, I'm so sorry you're feeling so crummy!:sad2: I hope you feel much better soon! For her daily update, janabananas is headed to AK today! Jealous, and stalking her for updates!popcorn::

I hope everyone is having a great day.

It is hard to believe that in 6 days I will be at WDW! My kids are actually getting excited for me. They have been telling me which rides to go on, what to eat and what kind of souvenirs to buy.

Seventeen days!!!! :cool1: :cool1:
So excited...but need a little advice. We too, have for the first time kept this a secret from the kids. My DF has never been and neither have his girls, ages 8 and 6. We have been trying to think of a creative way to tell them. I have had t-shirts made that say, "I'm headed to Disney World" for my son and "me too," "me three," and "me four" for the girls. It should be cute when they are all lined up. The sticky point is this, my DF girls live around 3 hours away from us. He's going to drive up the morning of and pick them up early from school. We have a story that is believable for why he's picking them up on a school day, but don't know how to tell all four of them together. My two will have to be pulled out of school early as well, just not as early. We're thinking that once we all arrived home we could call them into our room and have their shirts layed out, and yell surprise. I have a feeling all my DIS friends are more creative and can give me some other ideas. Thanks in advance...I so love the DIS!!! Don't know how I could have managed a Disney trip, before I found it!!

I don't have any suggestions on how to surprise them, but I would never be able to keep it a secret.

I know, I know. It's been sooooooo hard. I booked it in April. Half the fun, for me, is talking about it for weeks and weeks. It's been difficult because my DF has never been, and he doesn't really get as excited. I know it will be worth it!

I hit 9 days today! YAY!

I only planned this trip about a month ago and it's amazing how quickly it has come up! Not sure which way I like it better, because I did miss out on the months of making plans and anticipation, but it sure has been nice to just be "going soon" for the whole waiting time, lol!

We are surprising DD12, too, for her 13th birthday present. She thinks we are going on a camping trip to Pigeon Forge, TN. We have told her that we are going to the airport that morning to take some friends to breakfast who have a layover, then coming back home and leaving on our camping trip. She will hopefully not know that we are on our way to the World until we get out of the car at the airport! So far, she seems to be on boards :woohoo:

I don't know how all of you keep it secret from your kids for months....I have had trouble just these few weeks. I can't tell you how many times I have started to say things like "Do you want to see Fantasmic this time?" :rolleyes1 So far I always catch myself!

Safe travels to all who are heading out soon! I have not posted much on here, since I joined so late, but I have enjoyed reading along ;) You are great group!

Janabanana is on her way to celebrate her birthday at AK.

Thanks for relaying her updates, it makes it so exciting!

Those shirts sound really cute and I think your idea is fine! For us, we like to surprise them with mail or packages. You may want to consider putting the shirts in a box and placing it in your mailbox or at the front door. We use a Disney font on the mailing label to make it look legit and use the same font for a note inside. Our girls are younger, so they believe it's actually from Disney, but either way, it's always nice to tear open a package and have Disney goodies spill out! I'm sure your children will be thrilled, no matter how you choose to tell them!
