September 2011 - We are going to Disney World {THIS MONTH}! (Third Thread)

:cool1: 2 more days !!!!! :cool1:

I finished packing the boys up this morning and also started working on DH, Cod-man, and my backpacks. Cod-man is going to sleep at my parents tonight and then DH and I are going to finish packing. Tomorrow we will head to a hotel at the airport for the night and relax...hopefully hit the hot tub for a while and then we have to leave around 730 for the airport, with heightened security I want to leave plenty of extra time. At least we have passports for Cod-Man and myself so that will make it go a little smoother for us. Then it's off to the world!!

I must admit I do have anxiety about flying, and especially with all the heightened security and what not...I know there is nothing to be afraid of but I have never been a good flyer to begin with....I just hope there are no delays and we can get moving to our vacation on time! (PHL is notorious for delays)

We're at the Louisville airport and will be at Disney in just a few hours! Woo-hoo!

I hope everyone has a great time on your trips! :)

I love reading your ticker - "Congratulations It's Time" are some wonderful words.

Went to Michael's today and bought what I meed to make my queen of hearts crown. Still not too sure on the rest of the costume. Black tank, crown and.....

15 days until our wedding, and then 17 days until we are heading to Disney YAY!

The dwarfs at MNSSHP are the only characters we plan on standing in line for at the party! Seems like too epic a photo op to pass up! Other than that, we MUST track down Mary Poppins as often as possible. I think we'll do Phineas & Ferb too because my DH and I love them. Too bad Agent P isn't there! Or Doof!
:

I'd really love to see the Dwarfs too but my bf doesn't like to wait in line for characters at all! Not even if they're hard to find! I'm hoping for some shorter lines later in the party that I can stop and see some that I'd like to like Tiana and Naveen, The Dwarves, and maybe the characters from Tarzan if they're out!

Everyone heading out have safe travels! Everyone still waiting stay healthy!
Still gotta do two papers...probably going to take a nap first. So tired from all the running around. Tomorrow is suppose to be major vacation day but my boyfriend keeps adding stuff that needs to be done like a work brunch....I just want all the busy to stop and vacation to be here!!

Well today I went to the doctors. I got an antibiotic and pary that this time next week that I am better. Unfortunately DD(7) has had the sniffles. Hoping nothing big and if so that it happens before vacay....want access to our own peds.

Today after the docs and picking up meds, I told the girls since I can't(hehe) got to Disney this year I at least wanna watch some Disney movies. So we are watching Bambi II. Next up Cinderella cause we have ressie's at 1900!!!!Anyhow...Hope everyone is having a great day!! 13 DAYS and counting.....almost to single digits!!!

My mom is flying out of PHL too. Last time her plane was 30 minutes behind schedule. I thought that wasn't too bad. Hope your plane is on time. I know how you feel. I'm anxious about flying too. We have never taken the kids on a plane before. Hope it goes smoothly. I figure it's only a two hour trip from here so fingered crossed they will think the time goes by fast.

Here's to feeling better soon now that you have meds.

I think (I hope) all we have left to buy are the groceries we are taking down with us!!!

Today we went shopping to pick up a couple more shirts for DH to wear and we were walking through the Disney Store. Of course, because we can't go to the mall without going in there. Anyway, we have been planning that DD2 would wear DD9's hand-me-down Belle costume for MNSSHP. Well, DD2 is currently obsessed with Tiana. She wants to wear her Tiana underwear, she wants to watch Tiana, when we ask her what she wants to be for Halloween, Tiana.

So we broke down and bought her the Tiana costume. :rolleyes1 I don't want to say the s-word, but that child is spoiled. And I mean, rotten! Daddy felt bad that she was going to have to wear a recycled costume that she didn't pick, so now we have 4 size 2/3 Disney Store costumes that I'm hoping we'll get some use out of before she grows out of them.

Next week at this time, we'll be at Epcot!!!!! Can't wait!

We had the same problem...saying no that is. Our daughter wanted go be Tinkerbell. So I found her a Tinkerbell costume and put it away for her. Well...now she wants to be Snow White so then I bought her Snow White. I figure if nothing else she will wear one of them for dress up. I am such a push over.

Thanks for everyones advice! Dh and I decided that we are going to head to DTD on our arrival night. We figure we will either eat at the food court at CBR or Earl of Sandwich. We want to grab DS a pair of ears and get his autograph book since we have an 8:05 breakfast the next morning at CP... so we need to be prepared! :thumbsup2 Than we are just going to explore the resort while we wait for my parents to arrive! Can not wait!!! 13 days to go :banana:

For those who have the memory book as part of their package.. did you pre-register the photo card that came with everything?? I am really confused about this whole thing, bc I dont know if prepurchasing the photopass CD will mess anything up?? Help!!!

Has anyone ever used a blow up mattress at Disney? Originally we had planned for DS2 and DD6 to share a bed, but when we tried it recently it didn't work so well. (I had to pry him off her head several times during the night.) I was thinking of bringing his Cars inflatable bed, but don't really know if there will be room. (He won't sleep in a pack and play.) Any thoughts or ideas?

does anyone know how much the strollers are to rent at disney and whether than can hold a 40lb child?

$15 per day for a single stroller, according to my Passporter, and yes, 40lbs will be okay. I read in one of the guidebooks someone put their pregnant wife in a park stroller!:scared1:

might be worth it to get the multi day brings it down to $13 save you $2 a day. can't believe my 3 year old weighs more than 40 lbs. I got rid of my double just couldn't push them anymore its like 90 lbs of baby ugh. pregnant wife eh that's just pathetic

Been off the net for 24 hours and seriously 5 pages ladies - that's a lot of chatting! Having read up on everyone, here are my comments/2 cents worth.

After seeing the dentist, the broken tooth is gonna cost me$900. :scared1: arrrggggg! !!!!!!!!! ok so enough crying!!
We join in the happy dance, allow me to join you with a :scared1: So, so sorry and just when you have been working so much for your trip. dagnabit

Seventeen days!!!! :cool1: :cool1:
So excited...but need a little advice. We too, have for the first time kept this a secret from the kids. My DF has never been and neither have his girls, ages 8 and 6. We have been trying to think of a creative way to tell them. I have had t-shirts made that say, "I'm headed to Disney World" for my son and "me too," "me three," and "me four" for the girls.

Not sure how your's would handle it, but I would present them one at a time (with a pause for dramatic emphasis) as they are screaming "Why does HE get to go, I want to go?!" on down the line - but then I am a bit evil like that.

Having read your posts for some time, I am still in a quandry as how to pronounce Cod-man - as in code (like Cody) or cod as in fish? Seems bizarre, but I just have to know if I am reading you right.

I'd really love to see the Dwarfs too but my bf doesn't like to wait in line for characters at all! Not even if they're hard to find! I'm hoping for some shorter lines later in the party...

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the character lines at parties just keep getting longer throughout the night. Good luck!

You may be better off getting a Maclaren Volo. That's what we use. It's like 11 lbs and I like that it's mine so I can use it on the monorail and DTD, at the resort, etc. It's about 129 on amazon and free two day shipping if you belong to Amazon Mom. (if not it's free to sign up!)

It's Code, and stands for Cody...it's something our neighbors call him alot. So it just kind of stuck

We rented a double stroller from OSR, for the whole week it was round $100, definitely cheaper than the park strollers and you keep it with you the whole trip, where the park strollers you have to turn in before you leave and then you won't have it for the walks at the hotel or DTD

We decided on the same thing...DTD when we get there and we have never tried Earl of Sandwich so we are going to try that too. We have to pick up our gift card for our Visa Rewards Points anyway. Getting so excited.
