Our Grand Gathering will be staying at CBR 9/10-9/17. First WDW for most of us (or at least in a REALLY long time). Definitely a first for my 4 year old son! Sooo excited!!!:woohoo:

First Post! I hope you dont mind me jumpong in here! We are going on our first WDW vacation Sept 11-17 staying at AS Movies :woohoo:

Please add us to the list! We'll be staying at the Dolphin from Sept. 14-19th.
:cool1::cheer2::dogdance::mickeyjum:tigger:

We will be there Sept 29-Oct 6.
at POFQ and celebrating DD 2nd bday

:welcome: to the September group! I have added you all to the first post! :dance3:

I saw on a site that Hawaii will START (inside) at $1800pp. I had same thoughts as you. I love sea days but 9 is a lot with not much time to explore Hawaii. It would cost us over 10,000 to go and I can go on almost 3 DCL trips for that if booked all OB. Right now we are booked on the Fantasy next Sept/Oct. We wanted to do the new ship but not bad enough to do a 3/4 nt'er I have to have 7! But I am counting on Mikella to tell us how wonderful the kids clubs are:):)
I saw people throwing out April 15th for a new WDW deal and then others were saying more CM's Friday and thought that meant a deal at WDW. However I did see that DCL posted on the web site that they were opening phone lines for 2012 bookings on Friday and they would have more CM's. I don't really know just put those 2 things together. I really am hoping for FD though...crossing my fingers!

Yeah, I finally figured out that for the general public the 2012 new itineraries go on sale on Friday, but for Platinum and Gold Castaway Club members (I am Gold), they went on sale this morning by phone. LOL, sorry! (I was thinking "Friday? Why is she saying Friday?! My email says Thursday 8am EST!" lol

I finally just got a chance to log in to DIS tonight. I'm 6 pages behind on this thread and I was JUST on here early this morning before I went to bed!!!! :scared1: Workin' on catching up now!!

Ok now I love this...I could take off the ruffle on top and it would be great for my DD(8-nxt cruise). If you don't mind me asking...how much would this one run?

Sharon from Mimisgirls worked with me to create this FAB set! This one will run you about $80-90. She makes the PERFECT knit applique tanks that are usually around $30-ish. Look at her FB page. She can do any characters you wish. The majority of that price was the super-ruffly skirt I wanted! ;) However, me....trying to be budgeted-minded, had her create the skirt to also match another knit tank she was making for Mikella to wear on our trip to the beach in SC in June! So the skirt will work with both shirts! If you search her pics on her FB page, you can find the cute lobster tank she made for us to match the skirt.

I have to say one of the things I hate about DCL is how they rate the CC. I have been on 3-- 7 nighters which costs more then 3--3 nighters(obviously:rotfl:) but someone who does 6 3 night cruises is Gold and I pay more and have to do 6 -- 7nter's to make Gold. They really need to do it like other cruiselines and base it on nights sailed!! It kinda turns me off. I mean I have paid good money and I don't even get to get advance booking??:confused3 I have to wait till the public can book...nope not right!
Ok sorry that was my complaining on the topic:rotfl:

Yeah, I agree! "Nights sailed" would be better! All of our DCL cruises have been 7-nighters, except 1 on the Wonder in 2003. I wanted to check out the Wonder and see how it was compared to the Magic. Ugh...4 nights is NOT enough! Obviously the Dream cruise in Sept. won't be 7 nights either though. :sad1: I just need a taste of that ship....and I'll definitely get Mikella's opinion of the kids clubs. She keeps talking about "Andy's Room". I guess that's where she's heading first! :rotfl:

Morning guys. Those are adorable pictures. Well, Congress is back to deadlock on the budget. That means a fun day for me listening to CSPAN. (I work for a non-profit that is waiting to see how much of our funding is being axed.)

Lately, the dis has been my escape from politics and work!

Just want you guys to know I appreciate you!

MikellaCinderella/Amy your family is so attractive (I would have said pretty but I bet your DS would not appreciate that!)

How about we all post our favorite Disney pictures? I would love to have faces to attach to you guys!

Thank you, Elianor! And what a GREAT idea (everyone posting photos!!)

Oh I see you do get double outta the skirt by using 2 different tanks!! very resourceful of u:thumbsup2 I actually bought and downloaded a twirl skirt pattern...so I may give it a whirl and see if I can make it....seems easy. though I do like the ruffle layered skirt like that cruise/lobster one...I might have to see how hard that would be. I think a longer twirl one would be good for 1900 Park fare though....hmm I already told my girls I was gonna make stuff for our next cruise. DD(7) was excited...DD(11) was scared:lmao:
well I could chat with ya back and forth all night but I better go to bed...I will try and restrain myself not to refresh the page and see anymore responces:sad2: Off to bed TTYL

What is this? You piqued my curiosity!

I will take some pictures tomorrow now that I'm done with it and post it if you're interested! My DD's favorite thing at storytime is putting stuff up on the felt board so I made her one--felt shapes you can "stick" to another piece of felt and move around to create a scene. Should be sturdier than stickers!

I love this! You two look so happy!

Another thread (Budget section) pointed me to Travel Zoo, who is offering a 14 night Disney Cruise to Spain for $799 a person! Now, DH & I keep talking about a cruise and that sounded good. Then for fun I checked airfare home. My jaw hit the floor! :scared1: I thought airfare to Hawaii & back was expensive. I priced out Barcelona Spain to Toronto and it shows $3,962 x 4 = $14,613.92!! Is that for real? Is it really that expensive?? :confused3 Has anyone gone on that cruise?

bestmk.jpg

Cute pic! I'm guessing the overseas cruises are cheaper because airfare is so insane to get to the port in the first place. I've noticed that before too, when I was pricing cruises. I'd love to do a transatlantic, but airfare is

This is us at last years MNSSHP (Sept 2010). We also used this pic as our Christmas card :santa:

Very cute!!! Thanks for sharing!! This is adorable!!

This is Dec 2010 at MVMCP on my Bday!!

All the girls in our group going this year. This was formal night 2009 or Semi formal..I forget.

This is pirate night...I was so mad cause the CM must have moved and made this blurry...it is such a nice photo of us too:scared1:

Saying goodnight to Mickey
Love your photos!! The formal and semi-formal nights are my absolute FAVORITES!! I'm so bummed that the Dream won't have any on the 3-nighter we're doing in Sept. I think someone said that one night is called "optional dress up night". LOL. Maybe we'll use that as a formal! ;)

mickeymouseclubhouse----Love that photo. Every MNSSHP or MVMCP we miss that photo op cause it's soooo long but my friend and I have vowed to get there early and wait for it!!
Well that explains it! I was gonna ask where that photo op was at. We haven't done a MNSSHP or MVMCP!

I talked to my friend and she is going to do the pins this weekend. She has a 2 year old son and due in a few weeks with baby #2. So, I just wanted to give you all a heads up on the status of the pins. :)
No rush! That sounds good! Thanks for the update! :cutie:

Here's the photos your photo made me think of Elianor. These are not Disney, but taken at the Toronto Zoo summer 2007.

Yes, my kids are looking up the dinosaur's butt! :lmao:

If you look closely, you can see my daughter holding a ball in her hands. After we finished going through the Dinosaur... display?... the zoo had that year, there was a souvenior section set up.

For $2, the dinosaur would "lay an egg". The egg turned out to be a clear rubber ball with a dinosaur in it.

BEST (and cheapest) souvenior we ever purchased! :rotfl: We still have these balls too.
That is absolutely hilarious!! :lmao:

I'm making a list of a few things I can pick up each week before the trip to spread the cost out a little. Then I don't put these costs into the vacation budget and hubster thinks I'm doing this whole vacation thing really cheap :rotfl:

So here's what I've got so far that can easily be picked up in the months before the trip. Please add if you have any ideas!

sunscreen
hats
self tanner (I'm crazy pale!)
quarters for pressed penny machines
toiletries
hand wipes/ hand sanitizer
ponchos from the dollar store

Don't forget the PENNIES for the pressed penny machines! That is always my kids' favorite souvineers! In fact, Mikella had her pressed penny keepsake book out tonight!

I got a sewing machine for Christmas.....someday I'll learn! :rotfl:

I know what you mean.....I shouldn't be on here tonight. I have a TON of homework to do and a finalized research paper that is due tomorrow! Can't help myself though! I'll work better after catching up on DIS! :rotfl2:

Oooh. I like the idea of the "Disney chest" I have the "tigger is that you" bag that I could use to store all my goodies out of sight of the terrible twosome.

Haha! I know exactly which design that is! I love all the stuff at AK that says, "Tigger, is that you?" So cute!

The food is good but the characters are the best. Make sure she heads over as soon as the prince and cinderella start to dance and they will stop and dance with the kids

Here is my DD from December

day6067.jpg

Awww! That picture is sweet!! Mikella got to dance with Lady Tremaine during that part because she was still surrounded by the Steps who were amazed at her dress. :lovestruc

This is our group outside of Rockin Roller Coaster, we were all supposed to be doin the Rock N Roll sign....notice dh doin bunny ears. :rotfl:

This is my favorite of dd with a character.

Fabulous! Thanks for sharing!!

Don't know if this helps, Walmart has tons of infant/baby jammies Im sure in kids too for like $5 we got some for DD, and target had sticker books in the dollar bins! I love those bins!!!!!

On another note, is anyone concered with the anticipated tropical storms this season??? I know disney doesn't tend to be bothered too much, but I'm concered with flights down (I dont mind being stuck down there :rotfl2:)
EEK! Are the storms this year forecasted to be worse than normal?? Might not be good for our DCL cruise!

Sooooo. for some reason I wasn't getting updates. Wow, 225!
Anyways, I believe somewhere above I posted my ADR's, well, today I changed one (lets hope it's not a continuing thing :rotfl:)
I had originally chose Maya Grill for Sept 29, but I changed it to 1900 Park Fare. Why you ask? Because someone told me that at Park Fare dinner Prince Charming dances with the little girls and I want my daughter to experience that. So I'm hoping that Park Fare has a buffet that all three of us will enjoy.
We LOVE dinner at 1900 Park Fare!! AWESOME character interaction!!! Good move! :thumbsup2

Here are a few of my favorite photos of us:

Not Disney, I just LOVE this photo. It's her nonchallant look, I think, and how she is holding E.T.

Love them!!

Hi! Just noticed a time change for Magic Kingdom on Sept 15th. Seems the closing time has changed to 6 PM ! Wishes is no longer listed for that day either.

To close that early, seems like it must be a private function. Anyone hear anything?

I know it is off season & I expect early closing & all, but we now have park closing at 7PM : Nights of Joy Sept 9 & 10; MNNSHP Sept 13 & 16 & now "something" closing the park at 6 PM on the 15th. Wishes is now only Sept 11, 12 & 14th. Early closings for 5 out of 8 nights..:sad2:

Should make it real interesting on those 3 nights!

Well that sucks!! It will be interesting to find out why they are closing early!! :confused3

Gah! So busy, haven't had time to read any posts today. However, I have yet another question for you, MikellaCinderella. How hard are the outfits to care for? Would I have to hand wash them? How do you spot treat stains? My kids are pretty neat but, well, they are kids, and stains are a possibility.

Really, it depends on what materials are used on the outfits. Most designer say to hand wash and hang to dry, but I'm a little risky sometimes and will machine wash, inside out, in cold water on the gentlest cycle possible and then air fluff in the dryer. I usually bring a Tide-to-go pen with me so if DD gets anything on an outfit, I can treat it right away. If you plan to resell them, they have to be in SUPERB condition, so I'm always very careful. She eats with a bib on when she is wearing her custom sets. LOL! It's not a "babyish" bib, but just something to cover her. I have the funniest picture of her eating a large soft serve ice cream cone at MK in 2008. I had taken the dress part off, put a bib on her, and jacket over her lap! :lmao: She INSISTED on the chocolate ice cream and I KNEW it would melt super fast!!

Here she is in the full outfit...before the disrobing for ice cream. lol

And.....yummy! (This was before I put the jacket in her lap)

Our Disney bin is pretty much full--that doesn't mean I'm done yet though! I've got:
-stickers
-coloring books & Color Wonder for the plane
-Magnadoodle & other small toys
-rain ponchos & raincoats from Dollar Tree, found these a couple of weeks ago
-my ID holder I keep my KTTW card etc in
-MK & Epcot themed felt board I made for DD for the plane--super excited about this! It was a lot of fun.
-glow sticks & bracelets, light spinner
-body glide, sunscreen, wet wipes
-Take & Toss sippy cups

I've picked up a stroller rain cover and plan to make a super compact bib by tying 2 binder clips to a ribbon so any paper or cloth napkin can be used as a bib but I don't have to carry dirty bibs or those disposable ones around.

Just an FYI: Target's Dollar area now has lots of Alice in Wonderland (animated) stuff. My local Target doesn't have it in yet but my sister's in Iowa, which is a Super Target, had a ton. I got coloring books, magnetic note pads, sticky notes, pens and journals.

Cute photos!! Hey, are you shopping at MYYYYYYY Super Target?! :rotfl2:

Welcome to all the new September travelers!! Jump right in with sharing photos and chatting!! We're a fun group!! :cheer2:
