Wanted to pass along a tip I read...maybe even on this thread...that I think is really a good bit of info: If you've read reviews about slow service, or are in a hurry to leave a restaurant after a meal and don't want to have to wait around for your server to bring you the bill--ask them to bring you your bill when you're done ordering!

Great idea! I will definitely do this at our Chef Mickey ADR before MNSSHP!

I have been reading here and in my books, taking me to my happy place..... DH is one of the subs bombing Lybia (not trying to get political, its his JOB) and its making me nervous and sad......

SO!!! With that!!! Did you guys know Costco sells Mickey Chicken Nuggets?? Just a fun tidbit to share for your Disney Nights :D

I will be praying for your husband, his crewmates, and your family. They don't have an easy job, that's for sure!

Just wanted to let everyone know we have a September ADR list going where we're posting the dates & times of our ADRs --

http://http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2682582

LHarper - the pins look great, can't wait to order :thumbsup2

Now that we have our ADRS I'm wondering what to 'plan' next? What is the next step for all of you?

Could I please be added to the halloween party list. We are planning on attending on Tues. the 27th! I am so excited. this will be our first halloween party!

There are roughly one hundred million replies to this post, so I skipped a few and am announcing my arrival to the world!

I'll be there SOLO the last week of September (still negotiating the dates) and will run the Wine/Dine 1/2 marathon October 1st!

First solo vaca (though baby bro will join the last few days) and first 1/2 marathon!

Good question! We have budgeted out what we need to save for luggage, parking and gas to the airport, tips, drinks, etc. And have been saving in the change jar for those things!
Weight is a big one (especially for the bf:scared1:) making sure we're ready for all the walking!
MNSSHP costumes!!
What we're going to pack (clothes wise)
And lots of waiting! lol!

just found out as far as my new grad program I'm going to have to do regular online discussion postings every Sunday and Wednesday....sooo I'm hoping I can do the Sunday and Wednesday I'm gone the Friday before we leave! My admissions manager suggested finding wifi and bringing my laptop...and i was like, but its my vacation! :scared1:

Not that those types of threads aren't fun, but I'm a newbie so I don't know- What is the point of that thread? Just to see where everyone is eating? I guess I'm just confused.

It's kinda like how you've put everyone's September dates together. The September ADRs are being put together as well.

Yes, not sure if you saw this, but if you scroll down the first page, there are compiled lists of where everyone is eating when. So, for example, if you were eating at O'hana's on the 12th at 7pm, you could find out which other DISers are there at the same time. And if everyone was wearing their September lime-green-and-pink-mickey-head pins, then you may recognize each other!

Exactly!! The ADR Lists are Posts 10-12. Just reply & add yours & and then I'll update the lists.

Here is a copy of the updated September list for MNSSHP:

Hi Amy! So close:yay: I am glad to have someone close to discuss transportation. Are you flying or driving? We are flying but I have yet to decide where we are flying out of.:confused3

Yes, very close! I'm in Peoria once in awhile for work. I'm a Paramedic and occasionally transfer patients to OSF....usually pre-term labors, major traumas, and extremely ill kiddos who need to be at the children's hospital. OSF rocks! Wish it was just a tad closer.....I'd love to work there as an RN in the NICU!

We're also in Peoria a few times a year for soccer tournaments for both my son's and daughter's teams.

We are flying, but haven't purchased airfare yet. With the huge hike in prices, I just haven't made my decision yet. We will most likely fly out of Moline (we usually do the non-stop Airtran flight from Moline to Orlando)....but I'm considering other options this time such as Southwest from Chicago Midway to Orlando non-stop. Southwest doesn't charge baggage fees, but then again we'd still have to pay for gas to get up there and parking. Ugh....tough decisions. Southwest has had some cheap airfare prices, so if I can come out ahead with them considering all the other expenses I might do it.

We flew out of Peoria once, non-stop to Vegas. It was nice because Peoria doesn't charge for parking!!

Have you found any good deals on airfare?

What a great tip! Nothing worse than sitting around waiting for your check when they are rides to go on--I'm especially thinking about an early AM breakfast at Crystal Palace here! Thanks!

Hey ladies! My sister lives in Bettendorf (and I'm from Iowa originally) so I get down there about 6 times a year.

ADRs tomorrow!! I'm getting up at 4:45 central :scared1: and yikes, I hope I don't have the issues that some of you have been reporting with the website.

No way!! Bettendorf is just a hop across the bridge from my house. I live in East Moline, specifically. My mom and her husband live in Bettendorf! :thumbsup2

Oh, and MissLiz, one of our fellow September thread posters here, told me she's originally from Davenport!

Hey, my fellow September planners!!

Just wanted to let everyone know we have a September ADR list going where we're posting the dates & times of our ADRs --

http://http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2682582

Thanks! I just headed over there to check it out! Isn't it so funny that not only can we see whose gonna be at the World the same time as us, we can also see who is staying at the same resort at the same time.....and now, who will be in the restaurants at the same time! Next, we'll start a thread about which rides we will be on at what times. :lmao: Although I think that's hilarious.....it wouldn't suprise me if there is already a thread about that somewhere here on the DIS! :rotfl:

OK DoDoDo.... My husband is an RN at OSF in the NICU. He takes care of the itty bitties. I have only been to QC recently for a NKOTB concert; but we shopped the next day and had a blast.

We usually fly Airtran out of Bloomington; but the nickle and dime fees are irritating me. I also looked at Southwest but it is still to far away to decide. I also looked at Allegient out of Rockford. I am thinking of waiting till June but I hate waiting.

Seriously?! My mom is a NICU RN, but she's working at Mercy St. John's in St. Louis now. She used to work OB/NICU at our local hospital and go to OSF on a regular basis to meet with the NICU staff there to organize the transports of the NICU babies at OSF back to our local hospitals (when the babies are strong enough for transfer). She would ride the ambulance with me (or whomever else was on duty at the time, lol) to go down there to bring the babies back. I miss doing those transfers with her.

You were up here for the NKOTB concert?! Haha!! I was at that concert with my daughter, her friend, my neice, her friend, and my step-sister from Springfield! NKOTB is going to be in St. Louis in July and my father has already purchased tickets for my daughter and niece to go to that one too. I will be skipping that one! ;)

I've been checking into Allegiant out of Rockford as well, but what deters me is the fact that they fly into Orlando Sanford airport and not MCO. So, that totally screws up any plans to use Magical Express, and the prices I've gotten for transfers from Sanford to WDW resorts is kinda pricey, so not really saving us any $$ in the end. It's too bad because Allegiant has some good prices, but not once other factors are added in: gas to Rockford, parking, and then transfers to/from WDW and Sanford. Boo!!

Ok, I just booked another early ADR for our trip. Reminding you that I am NOT an early morning person and usually sleep in before heading to the parks, lol. But, I wanted to try out the idea of getting to the parks before RD, taking photos along the walk to our ADR in an empty park, and then rushing to do the "important" things before the rest of the crowd gets in. I will probably regret this early morning idea at some point. :rotfl2:

Now then, since I'm not usually at the parks early, I've never experienced this challenge: I've read that busses usually start running from the resorts 1 hour prior to the park opening time. Therefore, this presents a problem for those of us with early ADR's! Hmm......my only option might be a taxi on those mornings?! Grrr.... :confused3

The one I just added is an 8am ADR at Hollywood & Vine. HS doesn't technically open until 9am that morning. So.....the busses probably won't start running until 8am.

Last few years we've just eaten breakfast most mornings in the food court at POP (and ASMo before that) around 9am and then slowly make our way to the parks around 10am. (A few times we've done late ADR breakfasts at 1900 Park Fare, Ohana, and Tusker House, but never early ones! lol)

180 days tomorrow! Going to be e-mailing my ressie list to our TA today!

I'm pretty sure I have read the buses start an hour before restaurants open. Which makes sense as people need a way to get to their early ADRs before the park opens.

I remember having no trouble catching a bus for an 8am Tusker House ressie.
