September 2011 - The Planning Has Started!!!

Hello everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself. I am very looking forward to taking my DD1 with my DH and Best Friend on DD1's 1st trip to WDW. We will be going 9/27-10/4 and hope to go to MNSSP 9/30. We are staying at the ASMu Suites. We are very excited and were very much in the planning stages until February or so when I had to change gears and work on DD's 1st Bday Party. That is this Saturday so then I will be able to switch back to Disney planning. Our ADR date is the day after her 1st birthday so I gotta make sum decisions real soon. Anyways looking forward to getting to know you all. I am mostly a lurker but trying to come out of my shell.

9/19 - Via Napoli (dinner)
9/20 - Ohanna (breakfast) / Pirates League for the whole family @ 3:25 and hoping it is a MNSSHP night!
9/21 - Teppan Edo (Dinner)
9/22 - 50's Prime Time Cafe (dinner)
9/23 - 1900 Park Fare (breakfast) / Kona (dinner)

Got all my ADR'S at either the exact time or within 15 minutes of the time I wanted...now the countdown really begins!!

Made my ADRs! Got everything I wanted! It was a 30 minute wait on the phone at 6:30 this morning CST and online it kept telling me it couldn't find my resort reservation, so it would only let me book for the one date that was 180 days out...then when it could find my ressie it would time out. Thats why I called. And I'm glad I did.

You can make ADR's 180 days out, when I called to change something on my reservations the CM figured it out for me....I also think if you check your account online it has a calender........I hope you get all your ADR's

You're welcome! If you go to the Wild Bunch Kids Zone section on the Rainforest Cafe website you'll see a link that takes you to kids rewards calendars. Just help your kids either complete one of the calendars, read, etc before your trip, and you can bring it in for a 99 cent kids meal with purchase of adult entree

Landry's owns both Rainforest Cafe and T-rex so the coupons will be honored at both locations. There is also the option to sign up for the Safari club if you live near a Rainforest Cafe (have to go to the restaurant to sign up) and you can get coupons, etc for Rainforest cafe/T-rex.

I think we are definitely going to try T-rex on our DTD day!

Have you used the rewards calendars at Trex? I have the safari card and I know I can use that there for the discount or free app, but being able to use the reward coupon would be awesome

Have you done the build a dino? Looking for price info

Exciting Day here!!! I added a day onto our reservation (arriving Friday night instead of Saturday am) and made our ADRs. I got everything we wanted within 20-30 mins

9/17 - 6pm showing of La Nouba
9/18 Akershus (b), Teppan Edo (d)

9/20 Sci-Fi Diner (l), Chef Mickeys (d)
9/21 Cape May Clambake (d)

I know it's a lot of table service meals but we'll get 8 of them on the meal plan so only 1/2 will be out of pocket. I'm glad this is out of the way and now we only have to wait the 180 days until we can leave!!

Wanted to pass along a tip I read...maybe even on this thread...that I think is really a good bit of info: If you've read reviews about slow service, or are in a hurry to leave a restaurant after a meal and don't want to have to wait around for your server to bring you the bill--ask them to bring you your bill when you're done ordering! I think it would work especially well for people on the dining plan or at a buffet. There is still motivation for your server to provide good service because you don't have to leave your tip til the end of your meal, and you don't have to wait after you're done, you can continue on with your evening!

I plan on trying this at a couple places-buffets especially and on the night we go to the Halloween Party! Wish I would've had this info two years ago at Mama Melrose...the service was slow but the food was good. And maybe I'll give it a try on another trip and see if this makes a difference!

I have been reading here and in my books, taking me to my happy place..... DH is one of the subs bombing Lybia (not trying to get political, its his JOB) and its making me nervous and sad......

SO!!! With that!!! Did you guys know Costco sells Mickey Chicken Nuggets?? Just a fun tidbit to share for your Disney Nights

OO and they have TaleSpin, ChipnDale rescue Rangers, Duck Tales, and Darkwing Duck series' for $9 a volume (which is about 9 episodes)
