September 2011 - The Planning Has Started!!!

I have some stinky news. We are taking off the last 2 days of our trip, so we'll just be at Pop from the 7-14. We had a couple things come up and we had to take money out of our Disney budget. I'm annoyed and mad, but there isn't anything I can do about it. I know that we'll be at WDW again, so we'll be able to stay at AKL another time. So, now I'm back to re-planning.

Sorry to hear that, but POP is great and it will still be a long vacation! You should try to eat at AKL one day, so that you can see what you have to look forward to next time. We love eating at different resorts to help us plan our next trip!

We will still be definitely eating at Boma. It just looks amazing. I'm also planning on us eating at quite a few resorts during our stay. We're still going to be in WDW and we're still going to have an AMAZING time!

We were so pleasantly surprised with the dinner buffet at Boma. It was one of the best meals we've eaten! There was so much to sample and try (especially the desserts!). And yes, you will still be at WDW having an amazing time!!

Ok, I needed more of a cushion for our trip that the BLT could provide, SO I changed our reservation to...... the Contemporary with a THEME PARK VIEW!!! Yay!!!!! I was worried at first b/c the room doesn't have a laundry OR kitchenette BUT we'll only have one w sippies and I can run down and do a load if I HAVE to......

Can someone PLEASE tell me I didn't make a mistake ?? :ROTFL: LOL

Okay, you ladies asked for it!!!

This was November 2009.

We had gotten back to POR late one night after IllumiNations. The kids got changed into their pj's and I went to wash my face. I turned on the bathroom light and went to reach for my washcloth and saw 2 little eyes looking at me!! I didn't take time to investigate, I just ran away and yelled to DH that there was something on my make-up bag. He tried to catch the thing and it jumped clear to the top of the mirror. Boy could that thing jump high and fast!! Eventually he did catch it and it went out over the balcony/hallway ledge!

At that point we had been there for about 3 nights I think. And we hadn't had housekeeping come in yet. So he had likely been in there the whole time.

Here he is!

Ugg!! That is one of the ugliest things I have ever seen! Would have totally creeped me out!

Sorry you will have to shorten your trip. But you will still get a Disney vacation & I'm sure you will have a great time! You'll just have to plan a return visit to AKL sometime in the future!

Hi guys! I previously posted that we were planning to stay at GF in September while attended a conference for work. However, when I received the 40% off pin, I decided it would be even cheaper than the conference rate to stay at my dream resort, Polynesian! I booked last week! We'll be saying ALOHA to WDW Sept 16-24 and can't wait!

Oh cool! I would love to stay at Poly, have a great time!

Is anyone going to MNSSHP? Last year we went and had a good time. I'm not sure if we will do it again.

I dressed up in leather lederhosen. Not one of my better ideas.

We are going! It'll be our first time. You get mega props from me for wearing lederhosen!

I love all the costume pics everyone is posting. My husband is leaning towards not wanting to wear a costume but I think I can bring him over to the dark side if I think of something fun. Maybe he'd surprise me and want to wear those lederhosen?

Momof2disneyboys - The picture of that frog is great! Oh, I would've lost it!

Well, my mom got a pin code yesterday for 35% off a value resort during our dates. (I was shocked because this is better than most AP deals I've seen.) This will save us about $50 rather than the kids stay and play offer. It's funny because she's going in November and used the pin I got about a month ago to get 40% off their hotel (staying at Beach Club). Now I'll be using her pin for my family's vacation. We have the same address, she lives in an apartment attached to our house, so we can share pins like that.

Plus, it all depends on if they'd be willing to pay me more than I'm paying now....especially since I got a call on my way over there from DH saying to go ahead and buy DVC direct from Disney!!!! All we have to do is decide between AKV and BLT. I'm in shock!

I asked him if he wanted to be in charge and he said "Nope. It's your thing. Go ahead and take care of it. Let me know if you need any of my info."

Shelly, that picture cracks me up! I can laugh about the frog falling on my head now. I really wish I had a video of the whole scene, I could have won money on AFV! I think being the mom of boys helps in those situations! They are always bringing something nasty home.

Of course I'm bummed, but I'm not heartbroken. I feel like my weeks was MUCH easier to plan without the extra 2 days. Which seams crazy to me.

That frog is so funny! I'm glad I'm learning about these "interesting" things that can happen there now... like the love bugs and the frogs. Oh, and I was reading a post about a little boy that got his hand bit by a poisonous snake. That sounded like a whole lot of fun...

A week is a great vacation length and now you have something to look forward to for next time

I think you made the right choice! I was booked at BLT but couldn't commit. If I stay at CR it has to be a tower room.

I can't help it! I'm a hungry lady these days lol and it's really funny because I usually don't eat a lot. Not that I'm a great eater or a waif by ANY means, I just don't usually eat a lot. I could put a football player to shame these days.

Jbmom and I have always talked about going to Disney together, but she always goes in the summer, and we always go for Thanksgiving and the week after, so she finally talked me into going in August/Sept. It is going to be a different experience for us, and I'm hoping we don't miss all the Christmas stuff too much.

I'm letting her do most of the planning so this has been pretty easy for me. We both have 2 boys close in ages so it should be fun to hang out together.

Okay, ladies, I need help! My parents' 30th anniversary is tomorrow. With all the baby business going on around here and all the expenses lately it just hasn't been possible for me to really plan anything special for them. My plan is to plan a nice anniversary dinner for them during our trip. I'm thinking either Cali Grill or Narcoosee's and I'll also have the small wedding cake made for them. How does that sound? Good, bad, changes? Help!

So, I think I have adjusted our itinerary. Please offer your advice, comments, and/or tips!

Day 1 - (W Sept. 7) - Arrival Day / Magic Kingdom in the evening with dinner at Chef Mickey's. We'll be seeing Wishes on our first night, too.

Day 2 - (Th 8) - Animal Kingdom Lodge with lunch at Flame Tree Barbecue. We'll be spending the evening checking out the Animal Kingdom Lodge with dinner at Boma.

Day 3 - (F 9) - Magic Kingdom with lunch at Pecos Bill. We'll have dinner at Cape May Cafe with spending a little time on The Boardwalk.

Day 4 - (Sa 10) - Magic Kingdom with lunch at Cosmic Rays. We'll be spending the evening in Epcot with dinner at Les Chefs de France and seeing IllumiNations.

Day 5 - (Su 11) - Rest Day with lunch at Everything Pop. We'll be spending the evening in Downtown Disney with dinner at Raglan Road.

Day 6 - (M 12) - Epcot with lunch {hopefully!} at Le Cellier. We'll be spending the evening in Magic Kingdom with dinner at Main Street Bakery. We'll be sing the Main Street Electrical Parade and Wishes this night.

Day 7 - (Tu 13) - Hollywood Studios with lunch at Starring Rolls. We'll be spending our last evening in Magic Kingdom {I think} with dinner at Ohana.

Day 8 - (W 14) - Departure Day I have no idea what time our plane leaves. If its later then we'll be skipping MK the night before and doing MK this morning. If our plane is too early then we'll be doing MK the night before.
