TinyDancer's mention of MNSSHP reminded me I think that buying tickets for the Halloween Party is the little something special I'm going to do for my boyfriend for his birthday! He loves the Magic Kingdom (specially Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, and Pirates) and we went to a Pirate and Princess Party the first time we went to Disney together-so I think it will be nice! Then I may not need to add that 8th day...cause we could just go to a waterpark the morning we have the party. The real question is should I attempt to keep it a secret and surprise him? Sometimes I'm really awful at keep surprises, especially Disney ones to myself because I get too excited about it! We'll see how it goes!

Oh I love surpises!!! Do you think you guys will dress up?? If so would you just take a costume for him??

How fun would that be?! I don't think I could keep it a secret either though. Good luck!

In other news...
I got my box of pain yesterday.

What's that you say?

P90x.

:scared1::eek::scared1:

We start as soon as I can figure out what i need to do.
Sigh.

I'd better make brownies for dessert --- we won't be seeing those anywhere around here for awhile.

eeeek!

Good luck with the P90X!! Even though I don't really know what that is! All I know is that it is some type of workout thing and you are way more disciplined than me! :rotfl:

Now brownies, that is something I know all about! ::yes::

This trip for us is all about the "food" we decided to go with the DxDP so we could try all the restaurants we have been wanting to for year and could use the snack credits at F&W Festival of course that was when we were going late October and it was suppose to be cooler , but in any case I know from when we have been to Disney when it was hot in late August and June we liked eating TS to get out of the heat and into the A/C for a break from the heat.

I think I am going to make an ADR for each day to try to get out of the heat and into the AC. But if we don't feel up to eating a big meal because of the heat we can always cancel. It's so hard to tell what you are going to feel like doing 6 months in advance!
I was just looking at Kouzinna's menu last night , it looks interesting, also considering Ohana and Coral Reef. Chefs de France and San Angel are on our want to try list and I have to go check out reviews on La Hacienda for Illuminations viewing, whether it is good or not:confused3

I will have a Kouzzina review coming up shortly in my TR. We've been to Coral Reef and it was good. We've done Ohana for breakfast once and are thinking about it for dinner this time.
We are a chatty group. I was looking at some other groups that have been going longer than this one and they don't have as many views or posts. It's nice to have people to keep me distracted and excited for the next 8 months, 5 days

Yes we are! :hyper2:
Ok.. Does Garden Grill still have character meals? And is Lilo & Stitch still at the Poly?

I believe Garden Grille still has Mickey, Pluto, Chip, and Dale!

Lilo & Stitch are at the Ohana breakfast at the Poly! :goodvibes

Momof2DisneyBoys- I look forward to your report from Kouzzina. We love Coral Reef as well. We tried Ohana for dinner for the first time last trip and fell in love! Its just so much food! So you really have to pace yourself.

How fun would that be?! I don't think I could keep it a secret either though. Good luck!

I'd love to dress up but would want to do something subtle and easy to move around in. (I have a Snow White costume but I think it would be too hot and too cumbersome to get in and out of rides in and if I ever learn how to post a picture I will post a picture of me in it!) When we did the pirate and princess party, my boyfriend wore a pirate shirt and bought a pirate hat and wore it and I wore a scarf in my hair and had a pirate tank top that said "First Mate" on it. It was alot of fun!
So what I think i'm going to do when the Halloween Party dates come out, i'm going to schedule a water park day, and then maybe dinner at a resort near MK or dinner at the MK! And insist he wear a pirate shirt,,,and stow his hat away in my park bag!! Whattaya think?!

Good evening! It has been yucky with rain lately here in Orlando and it is rather warm today.

I wanted to join in on the friendly September fun!

I cannot wait to put in dining ressies and have it all seem more official.

This coming Monday I am going to Kouzzina for breakfast in hopes to meet Cat Cora. Her web site shows her there for the opening since the refurb. We shall see! :cutie: I have not eaten there yet and I am looking foward to it.

Our September trip will be the first for my neice and nephew so I am beyond excited! My whole family will be coming from LA. :dance3: There will be 9 of us total.

One thing I did today was make our dog's reservation at Best Friends. She stayed there over Thanksgiving last year and I did not know at the time I could get an annual pass discount, so I was pleased to hear that today! :thumbsup2 We live 30 minutes in good traffic from Disney so we still have to board her and I don't have any Florida friends yet who would watch her. She is beyond needy because I work from home so while I flinch at the cost of her being there 8 nights I just can't help it!

Hope everyone is having a great day! :wizard:

Update on the Fantasyland expansion...
they are closing Snow White.

:guilty:

The little girl part of me that was terrified of the Queen in my childhood is very sad.

I saw that! I was excited to see an update on the expansion. I was surprised about the closing of Snow White, but I really like what they are planning to do! :wizard:

It will be sad to have so much closed like Toon Town. I think so many people will be happy to see they are keeping Barnstormer though. I am not sure if they ever mentioned that before now.

I try to get on Dumbo every time I go to MK to see over the fence at the progress. :goodvibes

We will be at the Wilderness Lodge from the 1st - 15th September then the Disney Dream Bahamas cruise (first ever cruise!) until the 18th

We simply cannot wait as we will be celebrating our anniversary  and it'll be our second time at WDW:thumbsup2!

Roll on September park hours....:goodvibes

We board our dog at the Best Friends kennel here not far from our house , it seems to be run very well and we try to do the playtime for Bella while we are gone since she is not use to being alone either. If we still drove I would definately check out the new one at Disney so I could go over and see her each day.

Yes I read about the expansion this am I did not realize it was so extensive and I agree about them closing snow white, so many things in MK are gone since the first time we went it makes me sad when I think about it being changed.

I miss the old simple rides and attractions :sad1:

Thanks for posting the update Jo. Bummer about snow white, but the kids were not impressed with that ride when we went so when I told them it was closing they didn't seem to care. I was more bummed about Tink. I remember the original plans showed pixie hollow but now it says Tink would be in Epcot for flower and garden. My kids agree with me that Tink is MAGIC and should be in the MAGIC Kingdom :thumbsup2 There is just nothing about Tink that makes me think of Epcot (and vice versa) Ah well, I have faith in my imagineers :goodvibes

I agree! That seemed a bit odd to me! :confused3

Maybe I am just odd, but I find checking previous years schedules a big help in starting my planning, even touring plans etc base there early predictions on previous year, I know there is a chance Disney will change things like they did last year in starting MNSSHP later upsetting many who planned their trips based on 2009 party dates. I would just rather have a tentative schedule and have to switch a few things around than scramble to work out a complete park schedule days before I need to book my ADR's since there is no telling when Disney will put out the park hours and I am just too excited to wait :rotfl:

I think what is bothering me is that the MNSSHP dates are so sporadic and change from year to year. A lot will depend on which dates are available, as we won't want to be up early the next day, and probably won't want to do a whole lot that day to tire ourselves out for later. BTW, since the tickets for MNSSHP are separate, will it use our park pass for that day? For example, if we don't go to the parks during the day, will it use a pass? Or if we don't have park hoppers, can we do another park that day then go to MK for MNSSHP?

I ordered Sorcerer's Apprentice off amazon and am patiently waiting for it now. Maybe we'll use it for a countdown night. Anyone here see it? We haven't. :cool1:

We saw it recently. While it didn't get very good reviews we found it extremely enjoyable, very funny and cute, minimum of bad words and no sexy stuff. A great family movie.

When we did the pirate and princess party, my boyfriend wore a pirate shirt and bought a pirate hat and wore it and I wore a scarf in my hair and had a pirate tank top that said "First Mate" on it. It was alot of fun!

Good Morning September Travelers!!

http://www.**************/id/1314860425.png

Hope all is well with you as we continue on our countdown.

We are supposed to get snow tonight- my DH and I were just discussing how long until I can go outside to walk without coats and hats and all the garbage that comes with winter. He says I have a good 2 1/2 months left.

aaaack!

So-- the news about Snow White, while sad for nostalgic reasons, is also very exciting! If you want so see Snow White I guess you'll have to go to Disneyland.

Has anyone other than me been on the Left Coast? Fantasyland there is just adorable--- I really prefer it to WDW. I just didn't fall in love with Disneyland as a whole. Even though I cried my eyes out as I walked down Main St for the first time. I think I missed Epcot-- it's my favorite park.

Agree about Tink in Epcot though-- not sure I understand that move and really don't like it so much.

Smile4me-- that sounds like a wonderful surprise!! He will love it! I surprised my kids with MNSSHP and costumes when we went in 2008. I bought thses small pumpkins and filled them with candy corns and had the tix to it sticking out of the candy. Below that hanging on hangers were their new costumes, so that when they opened their eyes, that was what they saw. There was much squealing and dancing on the beds at CBR, very early in the morning.
 Fun times.

Lemon--- If it were me, I would not use a day to go to a park the morning of MNSSHP. You need to rest, have a sleep in day, get up- go to DTD or stay at the pool and relax. You can enter the park as early as 4 pm on the day of the party with your tix. If you used a park day plus used the separate tix for MNSSHP it is expensive. Plus you'd be exhausted b/c the later you can stay in the party, the less crowded it gets. We got back to CBR that night just before 2 am!!! :yay: HTH---

Okay so now I'm blabbing away all by myself this morning.

What's everyone doing today???

Finally made our room ressies. :cheer2:
DH, DS and I are going Sept 1 thru 8 and staying at Wilderness Lodge. First time at a Delux. We usually stay at POFQ. We visited the Lodge while we were there a month ago and fell in love. :love:Can't wait!!:dance3:

What's everyone doing today???

Good Morning Jo and Everyone!

Another grey cold day here in Connecticut, everything is still coated in ice, I have given up on listening to the weather reports, it is just too depressing so not sure if it is suppose to warm up today or not, but DH says we are suppose to get more snow Friday :scared1:

We went to DisneyLand in 2007, it was wonderful, I had been dreaming about going there since I was a little girl, I about wore out the view master reels I had of Disneyland looking at them over and over back then, Disneyland opened when I was 2 and wanting to go there is one of my earliest memories.
We stayed in the DisneyLand Hotel and although I did not cry seeing the original Main St and sleeping beauties castle for the first time was the absolute best thing ever.
I came away from DL likeing it much more than DisneyWorld, it is so compact it is so nice to be able to just walk to the parks and not worry about buses, we did ride the monorail one or twice but found it was not neccessary. I would go back in a heart beat were it not for the long flight, 6 hours in the air plus the time difference of 3 hours is a killler.

You need to get a treadmill Jo, I use to have one but the moter died, I really need to get another one then neither rain nor snow etc etc will stop you from walking

Did anyone see the video of the new castle show "memories" ? I watched part of it last night and it looks fantastic , I told DH now I am a little sad we switched resort and that now we have to plan for 2 MK nights, one for the MNSSHP and one to go see the new castle show unless they show it like the castle dream lights show before the MVMCP

Finally made our room ressies. :cheer2:

Congrates WL is DH favorite resort, it is beautiful and the water launch to MK is great. Have fun

Welcome to the September thread!!!!!:goodvibes:goodvibes
POFQ is our favorite mod-- we love it there.

If we ever go to WL again for Christmas- we are staying at the WL. I just would love to sit in front of that big ole fireplace. Are you planning on eating at Artist Point or Whispering Canyon any of the nights you're there??

Sheila----- ugh, I know-- I need a treadmill-- our gym just got new equipment and they have the old machines for sale at $1500. yikes!! That's a ton! I jsut don't have anywhere to put the dang thing. I am full of stuff in this house. Which means it's time for us to move again.:rotfl:

Disneyland is indeed compact! I think I missed the sprawled out mess that is WDW. I like having to ride the monorail into the MK- (we always rent a car and don't take the buses-). IDk- it just felt different to me in DL. My DH is wanting to go back at some point to DL- I just don't know when it will happen.
We have a nonstop flight from here to LAX, so it is easy to get to.
Awww, you had the viewmaster-- I had the record player that had the long stip thingy that you'd put into it and it would show the picture on the screen below the record. I watched it constantly.

More snow on Friday for you--my goodness. At this rate you guys will be lucky to thaw out by September.:sad2:

Come on over to the TR! :goodvibes

I am really looking forward to Ohana!

Sounds like a good plan to me! pirate:

I'm catching up on your TR today! Can't wait to read it all. The sun came out today, which is a plus because its been hiding for awhile. Lows are suppose to be between 0 and -10 the next two nights. BRRR!! Thanks for all the positive feedback on how to surprise my boyfriend with Halloween Party tickets. I'm really not sure if I'm going to be able to last til the trip! Last night I was telling him about how great this thread is, and started to show it to him and realized one of my posts was up talking about it! Lol! Plus I love to involve him in the planning process. Anyway, I also started looking at the Segway Tours and the new WildTrek tour at AK. Anyone take the Segway Tour? I dunno if he'd be interested in either at this point, but its fun to look into even if its for the future! Gives me something to do at night. I too want a treadmill. The people we just bought our house from left us a manual one, which just doesn't do it for me....so its sitting in the basement til I can afford to replace it with an electric one.
I was so excited to read the news about the changes they are making to the Fantasyland Expansion! While it is sad to see old favorites leave or change-I do not believe Disneyland or WDW were meant to be stagnant. They were meant to move forward. I think its great Snow White is getting some props! Her story was the first told and has a certain timelessness about it. When they announced the original changes I was sorta sad she got left out. I think having a family friendly ride that is more gender neutral also is such a smart decision because it really did seem far too girl oriented before. I do agree with Tinkerbell and friends winding up in Epcot being an odd choice, unless its something new they are going to roll out as far as imagination or sustainability (gardening, wildlife, etc.)! Who knows,,,they may even just reserve it for the one time of year during the Flower and Garden Festival. Disney is great at limiting access to characters and movies thus creating a bigger demand for it! Anyway those are just my thoughts.
Hope everyone is staying warm and has a great day!
