Yes that is crazy! I'm not 'in' Jackson but close by...My closet 'big city' lol It looked like you were thinking about making Wishes the same night we are, maybe we will see each other!

That would be so cool!

Edited since I actually went back to read. :lmao:

It does sound like we are very similar. Wanna hear something else funny?! I see that you are from Jackson, MI. Let's just say that I live very close to you. I don't want to say where I live on here, but I can just say the Lansing area. Crazy!

This is funny! I didn't know you were a Michigander. The closest big city to me is Kalamazoo. We go through Lansing a few times a year on our way to Frankenmuth. And we go by Jackson a few times a year heading to Red Wings games and to visit friends.

We may actually just skip Fantsmic! all together... I'm not real enthused about it anyway. Thoughts?

Honestly I would skip it and do DHS on a non Fantasmic day. Yes its a very neat show, we saw it once on the first trip my boyfriend and I went together. Would I feel like I missed out having never seen it before? Maybe. Since they messed with the number of showings per week it creates intense waits, I definitely do not forsee us seeing it again for awhile. We did not take our 10 year old nephew in 09, because of all the waiting in the heat, then to actually get into the stadium, and have to do more waiting on the bleacher seats...I couldn't imagine doing it with younger kids, it would be too stressful on me to enjoy. That and then the mass exodus to leave, I'd be afraid I'd lose little ones! And we waited (more waiting in heat!) quite awhile to leave when we went and i still almost was separated from my boyfriend in the crowd!

With two small boys I think I'd try to make one of the showings of Lights Motors Action at DHS and then swing by the Animation Courtyard around 5 p.m. because on Non Fantasmic Days they have a ton of extra characters come out!

Oh and I would definitely try for 2 days at Epcot instead of 2 at AK...not because I don't like AK because I do, its just there is significantly more walking involved at Epcot, and its easier to do if you break it up over two days. We've always gotten what we want to do at AK done in a day but we also don't spend much time in Dinoland other than to ride Dinosaur. There is more inside for kids to do at Epcot if its hot too - lots to see at Nemo and the Seas, play area at Journey to Imagination, Play area outside of Mission Space, etc.

My spreadsheet will be done by late tonight. Anyone who wants to see it or use it can PM me their email and I'll be happy to send it to them. :goodvibes

I don't think I like venturing out from our awesome little thread here. Some people are... um.... rude and not very nice. I think I'll stick in our little bubble here. :grouphug:

Hahahahhaha I know lime green Mickey Heads are supposed to be the sign of the disboards and after reading so many threads here I cannot figure out if I see one, will I wave or hide?

I used to put a lime green Mickey head on our backpack, after an encounter at AK dh won't let me. I don't think I would anyway, it was kind of weird! And we couldn't get away because we were at the turnstiles waiting to get into the park. Dh is very outgoing and friendly and we have had dismeets that I had set up prior to going, but this was my first oh your on the disboards "meet". Now if someone designs a TGM pin this year I will wear it with pride!:rotfl2:

I've never seen one ever! I think if I did it would be like spotting a celebrity or something.

Please add me to the list! I finally booked airfare (great price through Disney on Airtran) and we'll be there Sept. 24-29 at WL. We've never stayed on property with the kids (DS9 and DD7) and I've always wanted to stay at WL. I am sooooo excited!!

I've seen Fantasmic! multiple times and I do love it, but we have skipped it the past few times.

The problems with it are this, for us:

-dining options at DHS....as in, there aren't any that we are interested in so we'd have to eat somewhere else early and then hoof it over to DHS

-crowded, crowded...there is always a line early to get into the theater and then you have to sit and wait on stone benches for an hour before the show starts

-"black clouds of death"...it never fails, when we schedule F!, we get to DHS and the black storm clouds come rolling in. We've had downpours, lightening, etc that has ended up cancelling F! after we had been waiting for a long time.

This sounds like me... now, we have only seen it once, and while I really did enjoy the show, I didn't enjoy the after the show. EVERYONE heading towards the exits/buses in a torrential pour down of rain, getting crabby because my shoes/socks were soaked, 2 kids who were tired and wet, and 1 husband who wasn't being the most patient about it. We skipped Fantasmic on our last trip and just enjoyed the park while everyone else was @ the show.

Fantasmic...you know this will be our 5th year at WDW and we still have never managed to see Fantasmic :guilty: Scheduling in September is difficult with the reduced number of shows and I too am worried about all the waiting and on top of all that I think my 7 year may not like it because she does not like loud noises and the appearance of fire. So, looking at my schedule this year it seems we will miss it yet again.

Well, guess it gives us something else to plan for on a future trip when the girls are a little older ;)

:welcome: Welcome to our group! :goodvibes I have you added to the first post! :yay:

My DH just decided he wants to do the Food and Wine Festival 1/2 Marathon. He wanted to do the 5k fun run last year when we were there, but he felt weird about leaving our family fun to go run. The half is at 10 PM so he won't miss anything...well...except sleep! :rotfl:

It sounds so neat! I'm super excited for him!! :yay:

I did the Home Depot thing one year and placed them on my backpack and day bag but didn't spot any others while on property, although I have seen pictures of other Dis board members lime green mickey heads.

Wow that must be some kind of organized. I am envious in the worst way. Happy Planning!

:lmao: I wish I were actually organized. There is 1 sheet for each day with our daily plans, park hours and crowd levels so that is 10 sheets right there. I have 1 sheet that has our dining options for the whole trip, 1 sheet for our budget, 1 sheet for payments and/or purchases we've made for the trip and then 1 that is just a random one for notes/ideas.

Have any of you looked at the free site easywdw.com? I have a subscription to touringplans but I really like the detailed explanation of best parks/parks to avoid for September that is on the easyWDW site. And it seems to be in line for the most part with touringplans and I have found myself referring to it a lot as we plan our September stay at Pop/BC.

Just another option for all of us who like to compare all the information! :goodvibes

Thank you for posting this!!! I did see this site last week and even printed off her calendar but could not for the life if me remember it. :rotfl: It is right on track with TGM and Touring Plans and its FREE! It makes me mad for forking out the money for the others. I'll know for next time!

We always have a LGMH on our stroller and we have seen others and have had other member of the Dis recognize us and say hi. It's always been a pleasant experience so if anybody sees us in September please feel free to wave :wave2:
