September 2011 - The Planning Has Started!!!

Good morning September friends! It's February -- we are one month closer to WDW!!!! :cool1:

I was hoping either Air Tran or Southwest would have released their rates today, but nothing yet. . . popcorn::

Good Morning-

I keep checking JB too even though I know last year for our November dates they did not release the fares until mid-April. Fares for up to Sept 6th have been listed since I booked back on Nov 8th, If I could book my flights I could stop thinking about changeing my dates and get on with my planning.

Southwest said on their website I believe Feb 6th they will open up dates? It might be the 8th but I set my work calendar for the 6th so I can be sure not to miss it!

That's true, maybe if you got some airfare then maybe you would stop changing your dates!!! ::yes:::rotfl:

I'm pretty sure it's February 8 for SW. At least that's what I have wrote down! I can't find a release date on AT's website. :confused3

Guess I'll just keep checking everyday. :surfweb:

I hope JB opens up their dates soon. I'm getting SO antsy waiting to book our airfare.

Now that my doctor has officially put me out of work for the remainder of my pregnancy I have lots of time to stalk fare prices. :lmao:

:dance3: I have you added too!

Thank You!!! :cool1:

I have been checking the SW and AT sites as well....I have always booked on AT in the beginning of Feb and I was also hoping dates would be released. SW usually does not open their Sept dates until the middle of March but maybe with the merge this year they decided to release them early. Either way I'm with you guys....let's get on with the planning!! :rotfl:

YAY!!! Only 214 more days to go!!! We are staying at CSR from 9/5-9/10...first trip with our whole family. Me, hubby, DS AND my mom and dad!! Can't wait!!!

Just wanted to pop in and say hi!! I spent some time yesterday looking up attractions/rides at each park and making a list of the things I haven't tried yet, making our "must do" list. We've also never waited to meet characters in the park but now that we have autograph books I think we'll be doing that this time.

/
I'd like to see that list too! I was just thinking that I haven't done Haunted Mansion for the past 4 or so trips. Maybe I'll take my youngest on while my husband and oldest daughter go on BTMRR and Splash Mountain (oldest won't go on HM and we don't force her since she gets freaked out in the dark, it probably would scare her).

Oooohhh we could make it a game! :yay: We'll call it the "Question of the Day"!

Today's QOTD is: What rides/attractions have you not done?

I'll have to think about my answer and get back to myself! :rotfl:

Good Morning-

I have been thinking about doing that exact thing, we do not do the thrill rides like RNRC or EE but there are some we do want to make sure we schedule time for such as POTC since this trip is going to mainly be all the new and a few old favorite places to eat mostly at Epcot.

We are both stuck in the house with this terrible winter storm Connecticut is having and should get lots of planning done ;)

Okay, rides/attractions I have never done:

MK:
Liberty Square Riverboat
Stitch's Great Escape

Epcot:
Universe of Energy

DHS:
Beauty and the Beast
American Idol Experience
Sounds Dangerous
Journey into Narnia

AK:
Flights of Wonder
Kali River Rapids
Finding Nemo the Musical
Pangani Forest Trail
Maharajah Jungle Trek
Primeval Whirl

I think that's it! Anything on there I should do???

Hey all! I have a question about booking ADRs.. I will be up early of course and online to book my family's ADRs, my friend & her family are going with us, and we are having all of our meals together. Will I be able to book her ADRs with my reservation? Or will I have to use her reservation # to do hers?

Or can I just book each meal under my ressie # for a party of 10? :confused3

I am not going to list everything I haven't seen, just the ones I want to do... I do not have a "conquer the parks" type attitude, we just play it be ear ;)

MK
Monster's Inc. Laugh Floor
Dumbo
Flying Carpets
Astro Orbiter
Swiss Family Treehosue

AK
Festival of Lion King
Kali River Rapids

DHS
Backlot Tour
TSMM
*we did these other two, but they have been redone since then*
The new Disney Junior show will be open by then
The revamped Star Tours

Epcot
Ok. So.. this one isn't as much about rides as it is giving the whole place a fair shake. We kind of walk past the countries without really exploring I guess.. I don't know I feel like I need an epcot guide. The list here is long as we spent a lot of time in this park at Innoventions last time we went and the first time I have no idea how we wasted so much time here... but.. be prepared for the surprise.. we never went on test track or Soarin' the two main "rides" at Epcot. So here goes...........
Soarin
Test Track
Turtle Talk with Crush
Trying soda at club cool
Journey into Imagination with igment
Sum of all Thrills
*Seriously what DID we do at Epcot? I mean I know we park hop but this is ridiculous  *

Any suggestions?

Here is my personal review Momof2disneyboys

MK:
Liberty Square Riverboat - never tried it
Stitch's Great Escape - ds 8 thought it was a let down cause it isn't much of a ride, but dd-12 can't wait to go back

Epcot:
Universe of Energy - never been - just sounds sooooo long... and apparently I squander my time at epcot as it is :lmao:

DHS:
Beauty and the Beast - oh I forgot to put this on my list
American Idol Experience - I don't know much about this
Sounds Dangerous - tried this in 06 when we went and my kids hated it. Pitch black room the whole time with so-so jokes. I'd skip it unless it is very hot and you want to relax in a nice cool dark room for awhile
Journey into Narnia - :confused3 Dunno

AK:
Flights of Wonder - Hmm.. should add this to my list too...hahaha
Kali River Rapids - on my list
Finding Nemo the Musical - cute but I think once was enough unless I had a big nemo fan
Pangani Forest Trail - my kids loved this, so did DH. I just remember being sweaty. My kids love animals and learning so this is a must for my family.
Maharajah Jungle Trek - ditto
Primeval Whirl - loved this. My kids and I did it like three times in a row. Like a classic carnival ride, somehow more fun (maybe because I trust Disney rides and don't have as much panic that I have at carnivals where I..err.. don't trust the rides)

That's good that you don't have a conquer the parks attitude. We are like that as well. Although we did do a lot of first times this past trip.

Let's see. MK -- definitely do Monster's Inc, it is very funny! The rest that you listed are a take it or leave it kind of thing for us. They aren't fabulous or anything, but we do them if we have time.
AK -- I would try to see FOTLK if you can, it's a really good show.
DHS -- We really enjoy the Backlot Tour and do it each trip. I know others that could care less about it. TSM is a must do, but the line is usually huge, so get there early. We are very excited about the new 3-D Star Tours!
Epcot -- :scared1: OMG you have to do Soarin and Test Track. Seriously, have to!! Those are 2 of our favorite rides in all of WDW. Both are fantastic. Turtle Talk and Figment are more of time fillers for us if we are waiting on fastpass times or something! Club Cool is fun, but most of those pops are nasty! We've never spent much time in Innoventions. Maybe we will this time since it will be so hot outside!

I have never been to the American Idol Experience. I think I should try it just to say I did.:)

I can't think of anything else although I'm sure there is much more that I haven't done!

Thanks for your thoughts!

I have a feeling we will be doing less than ever this trip due to the heat. That's okay though, it will still be there next time!

We planned to do Universe of Energy last time, but you are right - it just sounds so long. :faint: I'd like to see B&B, but we'll see how things go. I really doubt we will spend much time at all at AK. It is always so hot there and the kids just aren't into the animals much anymore. DH & DS11 rode Primeval in November and really enjoyed it. It looks a little too spiny to me!

If you want to do Universe of Energy I recommend doing it August. Its nice and cool. That is the only reason we steer that way.
