LOVE all the cutie DD's in the barbershop photos! I never even thought about taking little girls there. I'd read a few threads where people were talking about taking their little boys there for a cut. I guess I pictured the old traditional barber shop with men in candy-striper suits trimming boys/men's hair. I see there are women CM's working there too. I've walked past it many times, but never went inside. I'll have to check it out next time! :goodvibes

Also, if you don't want a haircut you can just do colored hairgel and pixie dust. My girls love doing this too and it's really inexpensive. And of course here are some pics ;)

This is before MNSSHP last year:

I too am loving all the adorable 1st haircut pics! I would do this with Alice but I don't think there's any way she'll last til Sept. without getting a haircut. It's growing pretty quick now and I don't want it to be too long! I'm probably in the minority here but she is not a girly girl and doesn't really like bows & pigtails too much so short hair will save my sanity.

I LOVE these! Great another thing to add to my To Do list! :rotfl:

BTW I was preggo with DD1 at WDW in 2009.:cutie:[/QUOTE]

Yay for the "babymoon"! How far along were you? How old is your DD now?

My daughter was 15 months old when she had hers done and it was her actual first :lovestruc She didn't have much hair to cut but it was so great just for the experience! Definitely a memorable moment!
Adorable!

KellyWasHere - love that smile, so cute. Since dd wasn't a baby did she still get the first haircut ears?

I was thinking of doing this for Clara since her siblings are all doing PL but since she is only 2 she can't. She's never had a haircut and her hair is getting long so I am sure she will need a hair cut by then.

Does anyone know if you can use buildabear coupons/reward bucks at build-a-dino?

I bet it will be fine :goodvibes In the first picture you can see how short and baby fine my daughter's hair was. I think they probably cut off a 1/4 inch off the back and that was it ;) But getting your daughter's first haircut in MK really is a special experience and the First Haircut ears and certificate is just so Disney :cloud9:

Thanks for the encouragement! :flower3:
Yes that is true...I would guess she probably has about as much hair as your daughter has in the picture. I think those First Haircut ears are adorable! Did you make an apt or did you just walk in and wait?

Unfortunately, build-a-bear coupons say directly on them that they are not for use at build-a-dino. I assume reward bucks would be the same, but I'm not sure. I had a coupon recently and was wondering the same thing!

OK so here are the things I am gonna TRY and make. The first is the cris cros top pattern.

I am making a minnie mouse cris cros top for MK,

a flag one for Epcot,

and a princess one for Akershus.

All the fabrics are grouped by what is needed per piece of clothing.
Then the pirate material is for a MNSSHP pirate skirt
.

using this pattern

Then lastly the twirl skirt pattern using the Cinderella material I ordered off Joann Fabrics.com. plus these other 2
.

Not sure how long all this will take but there ya have it...now cros your fingers:laughing:

FortheloveofDCL does the twirl skirt pattern look hard? Can't wait to see the end product!

I think I need to take a trip to JoAnn's tomorrow! :lmao:

I think it looks simple. The only part I don't get is gathering the waist and thats probably cause I have NEVER sewn anything..:rotfl: But I think it looks easy so if you have used a sewing machine before U are a step ahead of me:lmao:

On another note, is anyone concered with the anticipated tropical storms this season??? I know disney doesn't tend to be bothered too much, but I'm concered with flights down (I dont mind being stuck down there :rotfl2:)

I've gone in August/September in '07, '08, and '09 and it is incredibly humid and there generally is a chance of showers each day. It ranges from sunny to partially cloudy. There is usually a shower in the afternoon. Sometimes it happens sometimes it doesn't!

I got a sewing machine for Christmas.....someday I'll learn! :rotfl:

I know what you mean.....I shouldn't be on here tonight. I have a TON of homework to do and a finalized research paper that is due tomorrow! Can't help myself though! I'll work better after catching up on DIS! :rotfl2:

This is so going to be me in another month! Keep up the good work!

I sure was! You have a nice one! :)

For those who are interested in my felt boards, here are some pics:

BEAUTIFUL BOARDS!

Also wanted to put my two cents in for what to put in your Disney bags and boxes-Definitely check out ebay for deals on pins to trade! You can never have enough! Before you know it you'll be shelling out $5 to $10 each pin at Disney and kicking yourself because you can buy a lot of like 10 for $10!

That is too funny! I got a sewing machine around Christmas- I've been making pillowcase dresses for my girls and their American Girl dolls...its nothing fancy...but it is fun! Have you seen the disboutique thread on here? They make some really nice stuff!
