September 2011 - The Planning Continues! (2nd Thread)

I bought some material tonight, but didn't sew anything. Ha! Perhaps tomorrow night!

But...I thought I would share the Tinkerbell costume I made for my youngest daughter for MNSSHP....

That's so pretty! She'll have a blast! Are you doing wings for her or not? I think I might try to get some cheap ones for my little Tink at the dollar store.

Oh thank you! She just turned 2, and she keeps looking at it..."MY tutu! Is MY tutu!" princess:

Oh yes I got some wings from a girl that makes bows and things on Facebook. :thumbsup2 I was going to attempt to make them, but thought they might frustrate me...so I went the easy route! :rotfl:

Ear hats (this is our first trip, I just have to), coffee mugs because I love them, pick a pearl, MNSSHP stuff, maybe, and as much unique scrapbooking stuff as I can carry!:lmao:I actually could come with nothing but pictures and be happy as a clam, the other stuff is just bonus!:thumbsup2
oh yes I almost forgot, we always get something MNSSHP stuff...

Ohhh Sooooooo cute!!! Love it Love it Love it!!:thumbsup2

Basketkat!! You are so crafty. We all should have hired you to make our costumes. Think you could squeeze out an adult tinkerbell costume? :rolleyes1

Awww, basketkat, that outfit is too adorable! It makes me miss having small girls in the house. :cloud9:

Oh I love seeing all the little girl costumes. They are just so darned adorable. I have two boys and never got to do the cute girl costumes or princess costumes. Oh well, it just means I will spoil my nieces even more. :thumbsup2

LOVE them! Great job!!!

For souvenirs, I have to get a Christmas ornament for sure. I keep looking for just the right crystal figure or artwork that I fall in love with and can't live without. Occasionally I find something and grab it. One trip, I found a cute Mickey snowman figure in one of the stores on Main Street, but decided to wait. Then I forgot about it until after we left.

We went back three months later....couldn't find it anywhere and haven't been able to find it since. I'm still kicking myself for that one!!!

DD9 gets a set amount for souvenirs and she can get what she wants. She also collects pressed pennies.

DD2 keeps pulling out DD9's old autograph books, so we will probably get her first autograph book this trip. We'll also get her a couple things if she sees anything she really likes.

Other than the ornament, we really don't have any set souvenirs, but we always get something.

Love the Tink costume and matching trick or treat bag!!

Wings would complete the outfit perfectly! Just make sure the wings will fit nicely somewhere. I have seen so many parents carrying around wings and other parts of costumes because they don't fit in the stroller or a bag. I remember carrying around part of my son's costume because he didn't like the feel of it.

I am getting so excited! We are staying at CBR preferred, any specific room request that I should have??

Question....we haven't used ME in years. Anyway, two weeks ago I called Disney to add our flight information. The lady said everything was updated, but when I checked my Reservations online, it says that I don't have any ME information given. Should I call Disney just to confirm?

Not having a computer is really making keeping up with the dis hard. Luckily i should have it back this weekend bc checking from my phone isnt the best method!

DS finally can say mickey loud and clear! I am super excited about that. I also downloaded the touringplan app for my phone so ill have all the wait times and fastpass times at my fingertips! I also dwnloaded an app called mousewaits which tells me the nearest bathroom as well as food place i am closest to from where im standing. It also has all the menus on it. I am so very ready for September!

As far as souveniers go.. i always buy an ornament as well as photo album bc i like the dated merchandise. We get ears as a family, i pick out a sweatshirt and a few special pins (i never trade). DS im sure will get more then he needs bc my parents are joining us and hes the first grandchild so he is beyond spoiled! DH spends his souvenior money on beers! i really want to grab some 40th anniversary things this trip as well.. other than that the rest is spent on tips andsnacks.

Basketkat - Great job! I am sure dd will look beautiful. You're going the 27th right? She'll be easier to spot than a LGMH :) She'll be a LGTB :thumbsup2

So after hemming and hawing for months we are definitely staying off site. After singing over 5600 in our minivan in the past two months we are just happy to still be going.

So, I know there is a cancelled ADR thread (I just posted there) but what about Pirate League cancellations? I told the kids souvi money was going to be tighter so they all have their gift certs for WDW but they had the choice to do the PL or have $ for WWOHP and the all would rather have $$.

The reservations are for 9/28, two appointments at 9:05 and one at 9:10 (early enough to get to walk back there before the park is open :) ). Would love to help someone in this group out :goodvibes

Another alternative to Pirates League is to go to Michaels or Joanne's or a craft store and buy face paint and do it yourself?? I've done it for my son, and it looked awesome! He went the year before an already had the costume, so instead of paying $50.00 for face paint at PL the 2nd year, I just bought my own and did him up before we left the room. Just thought i'd suggest. The kits are like $10.00-$19.99. We were in Michaels yesterday, I spend $18.00 on kids crafts, and got a 40% coupon for use by Saturday. maybe you can get a similar deal buy some vaction stuff, then go back and use the coupon for face paint. Just a thought...(I have many) :goodvibes

Thanks. My son has the coolest eye patch ever and I am trying to convince him to be a pirate for MNSSHP but he wants a hand crafted tron costume. I am not crafty so we'll see....

Maybe for our MK day I will let him wear it for fun, as if we did PL though. I can glitz up my 4&2 yo like princesses too.

Now that we finally decided on where we are staying I am so excited!!!:banana::banana:

Okay I just put Mousewaits on my phone! I didn't know about that one! Thanks.
That is great about your son saying Mickey. My ds says the same thing each time that is suppose to be Mickey Mouse. However to people who don't know haven't a clue what he is saying! :lmao:

OOh I love the souviners question!:cool1:
I want a family caricature!
I usally get myself a pair of sweatpants or pj pants!
A MNSSHP pin, picture frame and maybe a halloween decoration
I LOVE the mickey throws but I don't know if they will have any in Sept, last trip we finally found one the last 2 days of our trip (in OCT) they had just gotten them in

DH will get a hoodie :rotfl2: That man has more hoodies than I have purses and shoes put together  Then the rest of his will be for food/beer:lmao:

DD will have her own money, even at 16 months she is pretty good at picking out what she wants! I'm betting on a balloon and one of those light up spinning toys. We will also get her a stuffed animal, maybe a build-a-dino and a few other toys, I know her grandparents are sending her money for a sweatshirt and she will have ears from her first haircut!

We also are going to pick up a few of those Minnie bakeshop cookie/brownie sets for gifts and maybe a few mickey rice crispy treats!

Jeesh what a list:confused3

Oh has anyone flown with a lap baby before? I am wondering if we get an extra 1qt baggie for her or just the 2 for Dh and I?
