September 2011 - The Planning Continues! (2nd Thread)

I smell a trip to Michael's in our future today. I am sure the kids will have fun trying it out.

I love Michael's and AC Moore both, our Hobby Lobby's around here leave a little something to be desired. They will LOVE it, and since it's water based it cleans up super easy. I found that out when about six shirts wrapped in cling wrap leaked onto the floor underneath, and sat there for about six hours. :rotfl2: It wiped right up since it was still wet, boy was I relieved!

Just posting to see my ticker since for weeks the WDW site has said I will be arriving in 76 days. :)

Thanks for making me feel welcome even though we have only been planning for the last 3 weeks! I can't wait! :goodvibes

You're welcome.

At the bottom of the posts above your own are three options: Quote, multiquote and quick reply. If you want to quote more than one, press the multiquote (it'll show up orange once clicked). When you reach the last post you want to quote, hit Quote for that one instead, and you'll gor right into the advanced screen where all of your quotes line up!:thumbsup2

Thanks! I did it!:woohoo: (sort of:confused3)

Check out your quotes when you send it, if it doesn't say QUOTE as the last word followed by a ], it'll come up partial. I botched it a whole bunch to figure that out!:rotfl: See, I did it just now becase the first part of the "You're welcome" quote is not closed!lol

Do you know what I absolutely LOVE about this Sept thread? Everyone on here is friendly, kind and supportive. That's not always the case on the DIS and it is such a great feeling to know I can hang out here and never worry there will be snarky comments or rudeness. I love hearing about all the plans and outfits and ressies. And I really feel so badly for those who are having difficulty or uncertainty. It feels like a little family. Thanks to all who make it so and a big thanks to L Harper for getting this going in the first place!:worship: (and someone really needs to clue me in on how you quote more than one person at a time to respond...please?):flower3:

I agree with you! The people on this thread are just absolutely awesome! :goodvibes I didn't think the thread would be so active when I started it. I get amazed every time I add someone to the first page and I see just how many names are up there. It boggles my mind! You guys have helped me so much with planning our very first trip and I can't thank you all enough. :grouphug:

The soup is one of the items dbf wanted to try and I wanted to try the zebra domes. I am sure I will try a bit of everything. I really do not like to order a full entree of something I have never had before only to be disappointed. I guess that is a risk you take at any restaurant though. Oh well, time to live a little right?? To the buffet I go then!!

If you like the zebra domes you can buy them at Mara the QS restaurant that is by the pool.

I bet they turned out fabulous! :thumbsup2

Hope your shirts turn out great!
Can anyone recommend a very basic tie dye kit to use with little kids? I am thinking about trying it with my little ones.

They came out great, now to get a picture (my camera battery needs charged, of course it died right in the middle of DS4's last swim lesson today ) DH's I forgot I didn't prewash so the colors didn't come out great on his but all 4 of them are different so it kind of looks like we meant to do it! And DS4's Incredibles shirt is going to be great..we just tie dyed it yellow and red and are going to iron on the Incredibles Symbol

Everyone on here has been very welcoming since I joined, it's great. It would be cool for a central place for dinner ressies but that might take up a LOT of space :confused3

DS is now done with swim lessons, they had FUN DAY today. Got to play games and go down a HUGE slip and slide, could get pictures though....dumb camera battery! We have been spending a lot of time at our local fair and this Sunday we are heading to the beach for a week. I can't believe I am only 45 days out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is great to hear other reviews about Boma. We have adr there for dinner and I am not an adventurious eater. The other 3 in our group will try anything. I have tried to get out of the box this trip.
You all are right this is such a great thread. Even though I have not done much posting, I have been reading daily. It is hard to believe Sept is almost here!
We only have 50 days!! We have DS first haircut appt at HBS our first day. I am just praying we can make it another 50 days. He got his finger cought in his hair twice in one day! He twirls his hair to put himself to sleep and I guess it is getting a little long. It is curly so you can't really tell how long it is though. I am thinking if he gets it cought again I am going to have to go ahead and get it cut. :guilty: I suppose being a good mother is better than the joy of having his first haircut at Disney, right??? :confused3

I'll put in another good word for Boma! I'm a vegetarian (so not too much of an adventurous eater by default) and was pleasantly surprised by the variety and how good everything was. My DH loved it, and he's a meat and potatoes guy.

Ooh, we are so close to Disney time, I would hold out for the haircut! My youngest DD has curly hair that seems to get shorter the longer it gets! She is almost 3 and hasn't had a haircut yet. Unfortunately, I don't think she'll get one at Disney because it probably won't be long enough to warrant getting cut. But we'll see how it grows over the next month!

Almot finished making my pool cover up! You guys inspired me :rotfl2:

I so agree.! We all enjoy when the other finds a deal or gets a ressie, etc. it can be hard to read sarcasm but thank goodnezz for our smiles:laughing:

on a side note i ordered my new phone today. A droid3! Also while at verizon i got samsung galaxy tablet. I am using it now and ilove it! Laptop in a small package but not as small as my phone. I will be bringing this instead of mylaptop to wdw.:yay:
is it time to get on the plane yet??

Also i think there was a adr list but i forget where that was. I know a few who are eating when we are. I guess everyone can post theirs and then keep track urself who might be eating sametime -sameplace etc. Then meet if u want.

I hope that this thread keeps going a few months at least so as we get home we can share our trips and pics etc.

Just a quick reply but as a PP poster said, I love that you can feel the excitement coming off the screen in this thread! We are all so close to our trips now! This really has been such a fun, supportive thread :).

The tie-dye shirt projects sound great!

What is everyone looking forward to buying on their trips as far as souvenirs? :woohoo: I am hoping to pick up some good 40th anniversary stuff with more retro designs on it, and we need some more Mr. Potato Head parts as DD plays with that almost every day. I am in the minority in that I buy pins but I don't trade them so I'll get a few to remind me of special things we did like MNSSHP.

We get a pin each and don't trade either. Though i do have some that i got on ebay for trading on our trip and nxt yrs cruise. Also an ornament a person for our Disney only tree! Also 40th anniv stuff is on my list. And whatever else catches my eye:yay:

As for as Souvenirs go, I only buy towels. Weird, right? They are the longest lasting towels ever! I get one every trip-needless to say I think I have them all :rotfl2:
This trip we are planning to bring my son home Pirates pins-he collects any pin with Pirates, and my daughter is in LOVE with little miss match, so I'm gonna get her a buncha stuff-some keeping a secret for Xmas.

Is anyone else doing a little Christmas shopping while visiting?

I plan on getting myself a new dooney 40th if I can find one. Also some new camillia charms I have a few disney ones but want to buy around 5 or 6 new ones. The girls are each getting us to pay for build a dino and outfit, cactures done at pop, hairwraps and Pirates league. They each have around 125.00 also to spend. We are going a bit overboard this year. Beacuse last year we were also paying for my stepson and his GF trip so we had to keep our spending in check. This year I don't care.:lmao: I was going to bring a 1000.00 plus the 150.00 in gc for t-rex and the girls gc/ But now I'm thinking 1400.00 plus the GC's we have. I'm sure we will come back with alot of it.

I'm just trying to figure out if we should bring cash or stick some in the debit accout. Dh said to just bring cash. I think I may just pay off his credit card and just attached that to our KTTWC I would feel safer that way. I checked last night and he only owes a couple hundred. I don't have any credit cards they wouldn't be safe. :scared1:

I so enjoy this thread...everyone is so nice and respectful to each other, no snarkiness. It is refreshing to come back to this thread after reading a few postings on other areas. Whew! :scared1:

Anyway, moving on...

Just wanted to say how great the outfits BORKBORKBORK are and now I wish for a little girl I can still dress up like that. So precious! My little girl days are far behind me though, so I will just love the sweet clothes from afar.

RFrank, love the DIS Mickey tank! Awesome!

I started crafting too, but right now I am focused on earrings. I am trying to make a Mickey head drop earring with Swarovski crystals one color for head, smaller crystals, different color for ears. Maybe I'll even make a DIS colored set.

My kids don't want to wear matching shirts, but they did all agree on one day for tye-dye shirts, in the colors they want, not matchy-matchy (see how teenagers spoil the fun? lol). I found a big tye dye kit at Michael's yesterday, but I didn't have the coupon for 40% off one item (it was a $30 kit). I'm going back later, coupon in hand. :thumbsup2

I'm so excited. I listen to Disney on Pandora all the time, beside my bed is a stack of guides, biographies, notebooks with all sorts of lists, I have a place in my closet for all my Disney goodies, we are doing the 50 movie challenge starting tomorrow and last night my DD16 said she was worried over my new obsession.

I can't help it. One trip was all it took. I am hooked.

Look, my ticker says just 2 months! :woohoo:

I plan on getting the boys some Star Wars paraphenalia, and I will be getting myself some too. I have a "Who's your Daddy?" Darth Vader bumper sticker on my car from my last trip (3 yrs ago) and it is almost dead. The color is faded, peeling, etc. So I want to get a replacement. Not sure about other stuff yet?? I will wait and see until we get there. :confused3

DH and I will do morre pin shopping. We usually buy quite a few and give them to each other for Xmas, birthdays, etc. It keeps the magic going through the year. Some towels, mugs, t-shirts, incense, body and bath stuff, and gluten free goodies from BabyCakes.
Actually BabyCakes is the first place I am going. sooo excited!!!:dancer:
