September 2011 - The Planning Continues! (2nd Thread)

I always thought I would homeschool my children when they came along, but at this point in my life it looks like that is not meant to be for me.. (almost 40 and absolutely no prospect of it changing anytime soon)... But I am still a big kid at heart myself so that makes up for it!

I also haven't started packing (we leave in 59 days) which is actually odd for me, cause I usually have a started bag about 6 months out :rotfl2:.... this time around I still have to try on some of last years clothes to make sure they still fit comfortably and are still in decent shape!!! Just can't seem to get myself into the place where I want to try on clothes....:scared1:

you can also use Disney's Photopass and upload your vacation photos and make a photobook on the website. It takes like 2 weeks to get it after completion. Its like $75.00 or something. We did one 2 years ago-we are definitely doing it again this year. its awesome.

I'm really excited about the photobook, honestly! I already have my scrapbooking supplies at the ready too, though!:rotfl:

The thing I really like is that you don't have to purchase the Photopass to use the pictures in your Photobook. They are available for one month on the website and you can purchase extention time as needed to complete your project. You can also upload your own pics and previous photopass pics (if you bought the CD), plus all the layouts, backgrounds, stickers, stock photos and fonts with instructions make it really easy to customize the finished product. I am pretty sure you will be able to purchase additional pages too if the 20 in the promotion is insufficient. Our books are generally 24-28 pages long.

I considered something like the passbook, but I like the textures and 3Dness of scrapbooking better. I think it just comes from having been a SBer in the past. I found one on Etsy that I really like.

I 2 am excited about photopass book....I am sure mine will be 30-40 pages...unless it's cheaper to make one of just our family and one of us and our friends. I mean we are traveling with 12 others.....and some of the best people in our lives AND we have 7 of the most gorgeous girls and 1 handsome teen boy. So I am sure I will many fabulous photos!!! Yeah this free book is gonna cost me, I see it already!!

I am gonna start packing and lsit making after next week...just alot going on!!! I have things stacked in a tote...and lists made but I need to update and see whatelse I need to buy. Probably not much but gotta take a day and go through it all!!!

Well off to make GREAT tips....need Disney spending money!!!!!

Okay, I know I'm way behind, but I just wanted to comment on all the homeschoolers: Way to go!!! I just wish I had the patience to do it. :lmao:

I just find that I am too hard on my DD when I KNOW that she knows something or should be able to figure it out and she acts like she can't. It drives me up a wall! She would end up hating school if I taught her. She loves school now! She's already excited that the school supplies are coming out. She's ready to get them all and we don't start for another month.

We are getting close to our two month mark!!! And my youngest DD has been in underwear all day today with only one accident!!! It's her first day without a pull-up, so I'd say we are doing pretty well. Yay!!!

Thank goodness that we know where just about all the restrooms at Disney are...she is going to want to hit them all.

You may be surprised my 3 year old can hold it all day. Maybe go 3 times a day. My almost 6 year old forget it. She is always needing to use the restroom.

Oh you can add pages? I didn't know that I thought it was just the 20 pages. This is good to know but not good for my pocketbook. LOL

Only $3.50 per additional two sheet spread! I just visited the photopass site and they have added even more selections.

I am right there with you!!! I don't think I would be able to home school my children because I was not the greatest in school and I truly am terrible at math and science. I dont think my kids would make it past the 4th grade if I taught them:eek: But props to all the Moms who do home school.:teacher:

Michelle my photopass book will have about the same amount of pages as yours will! I am going to want to upload every picture I have, but I know I will need to control myself or I will be in some major debt!!:goodvibes

I'm so excited! I went in to AAA today and made the final payment for our trip. 49 more days until we're on the way!

I wont hijack this thread by making it about homeschooling, but trust me when I say I am no super hero and my kids are pretty typical. My education was average at best. I can quote you all kinds of statistics that prove level of education is not what makes or breaks a homeschooling parent. Resources are abundant these days for areas that I feel I lack in. If I can do it, anyone can :) I welcome questions if anyone has them :)

Ok I went to the store to purchase fabric. Was going to try making a dress for the girls. My first time. Of course, I folded the biggest piece wrong so when I cut it, I didn't have enough for the second piece. It may turn out cheaper for me to have someone else make them LOL but I am going ot have fun trying. I was also thinking of doing some bags for them to carry their goodies in. I also saw these really cute coupons that were for things like face painting, ice cream and so on.

Today is my 45 day mark!!! I have been paid since early this week once I got there sight to work for me. Wow 45 days I guess I need to start thinking about picking up some more things on my list. I was doing really well. Than I just stalled.

Okay, for those of you who are taking your own cages to WDW for Pick A Pearl, where did you find them? My daughters may still enjoy this, and I thought I would check them out, but I'd rather not pay a fortune for cages if I can get them cheaper outside of the park.

OMG I can't believe how quick this is coming up. So excited  The kids don't even know...how did I keep this secret :worship: First to get through my son, Justin's graduation party in 2 weeks...then focus on Disney. We are soooo proud of Justin...he has autism...didn't talk until he was 7 and now he has graduated :cheer2::cheer2: WAY TO GO JUSTIN :cheer2::cheer2:
