So I used to be a big scrapbooker but just dont have the time anymore. I was thinking of paying someone to do a book for us. Do you have anyone you recommend?

I just do all my photo books through Shutterfly. They have new designs where you can do your own layouts and add embelishments.

I usually use shutterfly too but since this is a Disney trip , I wanted the Disney backgrounds and border. I was planning on getting it anyhow but nice that a 20 pg photopass album was included in my package!!!

I have a funny story... DH and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary on Friday. We had agreed to not buy gifts for each other. Of course, I didn't get in anything but he got me stuff. I was annoyed, but happy! I unwrap it and see that it is a Disney store box! In it was a Mickey shirt for me, a shirt for him, a pair of Mickey sandals and a Mickey water bottle. My hubby sure knows the way to my heart!!!

Happy Anniversary! That is such a sweet and thoughtful gift!

I like that the photopass book is included too. I would never buy it normally but to get free dining I am happy to have it.

So I am 98% sure we are staying on-site. It sounds terrible, but DH got a second job for our vacation. I feel like some sort of slave driver but I offered to work and he said he'd rather get a night job then work all day and then give the kids dinner, baths, bed etc. solo. I told him vacation isn't that big of a deal, he shouldn't work for it and he said he loves our trips so it is no big deal. I him.

Taking a Disney break on our Netflix The kids are watching Wizard of Oz. My son says "Oh mom, isn't this on the movie ride in Hollywood studios?" Ha! Wasn't a night off after all

That's really sweet. We've considered having one of us take a second job (we both work during the day). But it's hard to commit to more time away from each other and the kids. It's always in the back of our mind though. If we could find something really flexible, we'd consider it. What to do, what to do!

Nobody works a second job here...I just work one job a WHOLE LOT! My employer has offered a lot of OT, and I have been soaking it up as much as I can. DH's job is preparing to pick up, then he'll be carrying it. I would rather it be me, though... he works on concrete floors in steel toed boots, and I work in high heels, on my bum, at a desk. There is a definite difference in what kind of toll it takes on my body, and what it takes on his. And he is better than most at keeping the house and kiddos taken care of, so I don't have to worry about what's going on at home.

My DH went from an OT position to salaried, so we don't have any OT opportunities anymore to earn extra money. I work part-time from home and am also a SAHM. I am salaried and don't have OT at my job either. So picking up a second job would be the only option to earn more dough. Oh the things we do for family....and Disney!

I too am a SAHM and I don't get paid for that either...well monitary anyhow!! During the summer I have been working by serving(waitress) at Cedar Point and making pretty decent tips. Thats how I paid off the vacation. Now I just need to make money for spending

Being a SAHM is a big job, and a very important one. My mother didn't work and I really appreciated having her at home. I have great memories of when I was a child...seeing her in the window before and after I went to school meant a lot to me.

I agree. I think it's a shame that so many parents are forced to work to make ends meet. I totally applaud any parent for working and doing what it takes to support a family.

I always thought it would be neat to start a non-profit organization that subsidizes a family's income in order to allow one parent to stay-at-home for up to the first five years of a child's life (before they would technically begin kindergarten).

I've been away for the past 10 days visiting family (and now I have rethought my grand ideas about going to WDW with my extended family in the future... ) and am all caught up on the 13 pages I missed!

I started my list of lists as I feel like time is getting away from me and I have too much to do before our trip is here. I started planning 13 months out and now there's not enough time--how did that happen??

I found Peter Pan on DVD at Half Price Books today! SCORE! Now to track down Aladdin and Cinderella...darn you, Disney Vault!

I am another SAHM. It wasn't worth if for me to go back to work after I had my second dd. I would be working to pay daycare cost.

I am a SAHM too, and homeschool both kids. At times it's a huge sacrifice since I'm giving up a pharmacist's salary to stay at home and homeschooling is very time consuming. At other times it's such a blessing, school is portable so we can take it anywhere we go. Which means we can head to Disney anytime and schedule the school work around it!

well you convinced me! I starting packing yesterday. just shy of the 2 month mark I put together some door/Window decorations and little extras.
I dunno what I'm more excited for the new star tours 3D ride or TSM! Either way our first stop is Hollywood Studios.

OT - Homeschooling is always an option. For our youngest he is doing Abeka's DVD school. I have to sit there with him to help him focus, but I'm more of a facilitator than a teacher. When he does his seat work, that's the time I have to get caught up on my stuff. I have to grade all his work, and help him mostly with handwriting. The oldest is 17 and he is doing a computer based homeschool program. It grades 75% of his work, I just have to make sure he is caught up on his daily assignments, projects, and essays. I've had to help him alot with his precalculus though, but the rest of his curriculum was more self-taught. We use an umbrella school so that the kids get report cards and will get a high school diploma.

Very interesting. I know there are so many curriculum options out there. I will definitely keep my schooling options open!

Same here. I am a SAHM and DH works, and is now back in school full time as well. I am thinking of getting a part time job just because Long Island is so expensive and we are hoping to move at the end of next year.. it would be nice to have some extra emergency money for the move. Plus once we move I would not be able to work bc I dont feel comfortable leaving my child with someone I dont know in a state that I really dont know.

What does "umbrella school" mean? We also homeschool!
