September 2011 - The Planning Continues! (2nd Thread)

I posted this on the restaurant thread and was wondering your guys' opinion: I need help!

"We have an ADR at Boma for our last night in September, but I'm worried I'm not going to enjoy it. All I've been hearing in reviews is that its really sweet and uses a lot of cinnamon, vanilla, and fruits in everything. For someone who honestly hates those types of flavors in a main meal (I think those flavors should be in dessert only) am I going to hate everything? Other than that, I'm a VERY adventurous eater. I really think my husband and two boys will like it though.

I really want to try Sanaa, but my husband doesn't find the photos of the food appetizing. He has meat texture issues and is worried that the cuts of meat at Sanaa aren't going to be to his liking.

Please help us! Should we just scrap both places and find somewhere else? We are picking from those two because we really want to explore AKL, but I'm not sure if either of these meals are going to make us happy."

I would give Boma a try. I had an ADR for our trip last Sept and cancelled last minute after reading all the reviews. However I was really upset once arriving because most of the places we chose to eat were all steak and potato places, so after 9 days it got old. Besides, the food court had plenty of food for after dinner if there wasnt something we liked. This trip I made another ADR at Boma that we wont be cancelling. I would really like to try Sanaa one day, but im terrified that the curry and other spices will not mix well with my stomach since I dont normally eat that type of food.

Gosh darn it!! I want to order some t-shirts but I already have enough for this trip... Maybe for my next trip in November???
These are the ones I am thinking about:
- http://www.disneystore.com/adults-p...ess-tee-for-women/mp/1287721/1000777+1000659/

Theres always room for another shirt! My mom actually bought me the princess shirt about the shoes.. she found it appropriate since I have way more shoes than I need. :rotfl:

Just a word of caution!

We are rapidly approaching our 250 page limit. With about 50 pages left and 43 days to the end of September, we'd have to keep our thread to about 1 page a day to make it to the end! I'd hate to see this thread get locked with a few more members still waiting to leave or return from their end-of-September trip. If we want to prolong this thread, we should probably be careful about quoting posts that include photos or long text, since they take up so much room.

I know we can always make another thread, but I wasn't sure if it would be worth it for a handful of extra pages. We could eventually post on the other September thread, too, which has more than enough room. Just a thought in case we hit the end sooner than later!

We are gonna try BOMA this trip. I really want to try something different and what a great way to experience African foods, buffet-style. I went back and forth about keeping BOMA or Cape May, I decided on keeping BOMA because it is something I have never had before and because I want to explore the AKL too.

I just found out I am working another few hours of OT this week, and with that money, I will be able to get those two shirts!! So I am doing it!! They are just too cute to resist especially with the pricing!! Cannot beat $13 bucks a shirt (with tax & shipping)!!

What's one more thread....lol...is there a limit? Since this is our 2nd will they not allow a 3rd? I hope they do.

on a side note...the disneystore is down at the moment and I really wanted to order some of those shirts everyone is talking about! I hope there are still some left when it's back up.

I vote for eventually opening a 3rd thread. After hearing about everyone's ups and downs and trip planning, it would be a shame if we weren't around for the trip reports from the whole gang. I'll stick around.

There's another September thread?

I agree that if this thread gets locked, it wouldn't be fair to the DIS'ers towards the end of the month. However, I also hate for us to create more work for L-Harper, since she's graciously created and updated 2 threads already!

Yes, the creator of the other thread hasn't updated it since January 2011, although people keep posting to it. Not sure what happened. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=42299659#post42299659.

Chose Boma! The food is great, and there's A LOT to choose from. If you com across something you don't like, just pick something else. :thumbsup2

I would ABSOLUTELY start another thread if its needed. I will for sure be around until EVERYONE from this thread is back from their trips and I've heard stories. I have been with this thread for this long, I will not leave any of you now! :grouphug: I know that I'll be doing a trip report when we get back and I would love to be able to share it with all of you. The DIS will allow us to have another thread, so that is not a worry.

I'm kind of hoping that just because our trips are over in September that everyone just doesn't disappear. I'm kind of hoping we can keep some sort of group going, just as friends wanting to keep chatting about life and WDW. I would definitely offer up my time to hosting a thread like that too.

I agree! We're going the last week of September, and I want to hear how everyone's trips come out! There are a large number of us traveling at that time, I'd hate to not see how the surprises and planning pay off!:lovestruc

Phew!!!!! Thanks L-Harper! I will for sure be reading your trip report!!!!! :surfweb:

Another idea to keep up with each other while we are on our trips...If you post updates/pictures on facebook or twitter we could add each other on there, and follow along with each other. Just a thought. :thumbsup2

:grouphug: Thanks, L-Harper! I had been wondering what would "happen" to all of us once September was over! I've never done a trip report before but I might because of all of you guys!

Us too - we don't leave til 24th so lots of stories of everyone else's trips will just get us all in the mode to go when its our turn... this board has to be one of the best I've seen - no silly bashing or cranking... we're just all about the mouse and fun! :cool1:  :woohoo: :yay: :cheer2: :yay: :woohoo:  :cool1:

ugh its been 8 weeks for me. I usually have my hair cut short too but i've been kinda growing it out and now its just driving me insane in the front

My hair is usually pretty short (about chin length) and I would have normally gotten it cut before our trip, but I'm trying to grow it out. I'd like to be able to pull it back once the baby is here so it's not getting yanked as often.

OMGoodness though, it's so not easy getting used to the longer stuff after several years of the shorter stuff. It's at that really awkward stage where it wants to fall forward and annoy me but it's still too short to pull back.

You guys are so welcome! I feel like we've all become friends here. As far as posting stuff on FB, I will be internet free for our trip! We don't have smart phones nor are we going to pay their INSANE price to use the internet.

Also, I've decided that I'm going to stick with our Boma ADR. If nothing else, I do love me some hummus! :lmao: I also like curry so I should be fine!
