September 2011 - The Planning Continues! (2nd Thread)

They will not confiscate your pack, WDW is one of the few parks in the world that doesn't throw fits about you bringing in drinks, or even food! The camerlback is a GREAT idea!:thumbsup2 Have fun telling your parents!:woohoo:

We always bring a small soft-sided cooler with cold bottled water, juice boxes, snacks, and cans of Diet Dew (my addiction which can't be found at WDW! LOL) Each morning we go fill plastic zip-loc bags full of ice to put in the cooler for the day. It fits nicely under our stroller and I can even fold the stroller to get on the busses without the cooler falling out. We've gotten it down to a science! :thumbsup2 Even though Mikella will be 6 this year, I'm still taking the stroller for the purpose of carrying all our "stuff" and cooler, and it gives her a place to sit down and rest when she gets tired of walking. Plus, she goes through 2-3 changes of clothes throughout a park day because she has different custom outfits for different ADR's and such, so we tote that stroller around more like a luggage rack! :rotfl:

Please add me!

Sept 11-18 AKV Kidani Village.

(We are actually coming down a few days earlier to experience Universal). :wizard:

Celebrating 1st Anniversary and husbands 35th birthday!!

We are on a waiting list for the Concierge level for our first night as a treat and still hoping to scoop a room for the night of the 17th as this was recently added. Hoping for pixie dust. :tinker:

How many people have bought the buttons on the first page of this thread? Id love to meet up with other Disers! Im thinking of buying a few of them.

Quite a few of us have purchased the buttons, actually! The only problem is, they are a little less than 1 inch, which will be hard to see unless you're STARING at people! :rotfl: I bought 3.....hopefully someone will spot me. I actually thought about having a shirt made with the large lime green DIS mickey ears and my screen name! That way, at least one day in the parks, I will be recognizable! :cool1: If I have one made, I might wear it one day on the ship for other DISers to recognize me as well.....then I'll just have to find a place to wash it and wear it at the parks again one day. I'm sure I'll have a few other things to wash by the time we check in at POP, so I'll probably be ok.

I bought one of the pins. Still waiting for it to come in the mail. I was gonna make a shirt too but I am not a creative as I wish I was. So I am gonna have to take a field trip to Michaels and see what I can come up with????

My DS4 loves Sleeping Beauty and I was able to score a dinner ADR at Akershus on the 12th! :yay: He's going to be so excited!!! :woohoo:

How did I miss the buttons?

I haven't been on a Disney Cruise in years, but when we went, we had a DIS meet right before the safety drill. It worked out great and we all kept bumping into each other throughout the cruise.

I'm not creative either. If you go to Home Depot you can pick up a LGMH from the Disney paint chips. Alien green is the DIS color. Back in March, I came up with this one for Mardi Gras. Put it on my back pack for someone to spot.

We bring a cooler too. It's too bad the mods and deluxes don't have freezers in their refrigerators! We do the same. I bring a bunch of freezer bags and double bag them for the ice. When we stay at a value resort, I bring 2 collaspable coolers. One to keep in the room and a smaller one to take to the parks.

Way to go, Silylily! :thumbsup2 Honesty is always the best policy, I know if I try to let the truth slide, even because of someone else's mistake in my favor, I never get over the Jiminy Cricket on my shoulder. It seems reasonable that you would argue the point in their favor, because we would all fight for justice if were overcharged a day!

On the shirt topic....
I am thinking of making lime green shirts for the girls and myself. They would say, "Best Vacation EVER" on the front and the girl's would have "because Mom's a DISer!" on the back and mine would say,"Yep!"

Got your PM, thanks!! :flower3:

You are very welcome!:)

Hmmm, Im not a crafty person either but Im going to design something. Im calling us the "Tember Members" so if you see a crazy girl with a lime green mickey head that says Tember Member come speak to me!!

I picked up a Mickey head at HD, trip to Micheals, and $5 later, came up with this to put in my window. Sorry picture quality is crap.

Used a wood picture frame, a glitter foam sheet, glitter glue pens, and foam characters, oh and of course alien green Mickey. I have an idea on a shirt now but not sure how to pull it off. HMMM???

This is our 4th trip during Hurricane season... we have never had an issue and never used trip insurance.

However, maybe we should have had it this year.... if finances don't turn around next month (specifically Aug 3rd), I may have to cancel our already paid for trip to pay bills such as rent and car payment... unfortunately, won't know until after the 45 day mark... so NO chance of a FULL refund!

That would really be a bummer, pixie dust that things work out. Besides, you really need to get that dinosaur back for scaring your pants off!

Everyone's trips sound like they are really coming together. I'm so excited. 2 MONTHS :cool1:

We are doing lunch at Akershus. this will be our first time there. We are dining on the DAY OF DD's 4th birthday. I'm so excited. she adores the princesses.

I'm sitting here compiling a list of things I need to get before our trip (things that we might need on our trip)

if you care to take a look at what I have so far and then add any suggestions. it's going to be me, Hubby and DD4, then my in laws, and my sister in law and her family but I doubt we will be seeing them much.

Ear muff/protectors for DD (if things are too loud she likes to wear these... like fireworks. but we need to get her a youth pair. any suggestions?)

sunscreen

plastic cover for stroller

rain ponchos

rain boots for Hannah

Ring pops (these and the sticky notes and pens and glow sticks are for distractions in line if DD is getting antsy)

sticky notes

fun pens

Glow stick bracelets

disney t shirts for me

handheld fan with water mister

That's all I can think of right now. but it seems like there are things Im missing.

You cqn find the ear protection at Tractor Supply, or any major sporting goods store usually. We live in the country, and my youngest DD has a small set for being around tractors and bush hoggers, etc. They work super well on touchy ears!

I'm sending prayers and pixie dust that you don't have to cancel, and that things get easier soon! :rotfl:

I could never keep an extra room night, I would feel like a toad knowing it wasn't mine in the first place. I didn't even notice it until now, it's been on my reservation all of this time! I was printing the confirmation out for my binder when I noticed it. I just kept going, "But I have reservations in Siesta Key that night!" :rotfl:

50 days!!!!!!!

When we went on the cruise I followed the link on here for the DISers that were going too, we actually met up at the hotel the night before we sailed and bumped into them all trip long. I twas pretty neat.

I never thought to do DIS-wear....I am working on Mickey Tie Dyes for the boys, DH and myself....hopefully they come out....DS4 is all about an incredibles one too, Hope I can figure it out

Now I have to start thinking about costumes for MNSSHP, I want something easy to pack but I have no idea what.... I thought about just bringing face paint and doing something neat with that but I heard people go all OUT! I don't want DS4 to feel "left out"

I've been looking, for months, for a bag to take to the parks at Disney. I wanted something to go over my shoulder that I could take on rides with me. I need something that will hold my wallet, camera, etc. I just found 2 awesome bags from somebody selling 31 products. I've never heard of them before but I'm going to get them just in time for our September trip. So excited!:)

I'M PREGNANT! :)

I'm so THRILLED! :goodvibes

This does, however, put a wrench in our plans for Disney World. We're definitely still going to go unless something drastic happens between now and then. I'll be 25 weeks (I think) when we're down there. I think we'll now be skipping Animal Kingdom because, of the few things we do there, I can only do like one of them. Does anyone have any tips or tricks I should keep in mind?

How exciting!!!!!

We just came back from up north (central ontario) it was great...one more little trip and then I can focus on Disney. I am so excited and it's hard not to wish the time away and enjoy where I am! :wizard: Disney is just the most magical place!!!
