September 2011 CANCELLED ADR Thread - Read 1st Post

I have 2 I need to cancel and free up for other people

California Grill for 4, 9/15 @ 7:40

and

Le Cellier for 4, 9/21 @ 11:50

PM if you would like to set up a time, otherwise it will be around 7 PM CST tonight.

There's an 'Ohana for 4 on Friday, 9/30 at 5:15PM... perfect for dinner before MNSSHP. Somebody, go grab it, quick!

(Of course, I was looking for something after park close, since I'm not attending the party... Just not as late as the 9:45 I have. ROTFLMBO.)

Are you trying for less than 5 people? Sometimes if there's an opening for 5 and you try for 2, 3, or 4 it won't come up. Then you can either take the ADR for 5 or call the dining number and have them reserve for 5 and then modify the reservation for how many people you need (therefore opening up the extra spots for others). I had to do that once.

Good luck!

As soon as I read this, I went and checked for a Sunday night 'Ohana dinner and was able to get one! It was for 5 people, but I called the dining phone number and had it changed to two. Thanks SO much for the tip :wizard:

I just got one for 5:05pm! Thank you. I had quit looking.

Where do you go to look and why did you find a reservation for 5? Sorry, I'm new at this. :confused3

Go here ->

You can search restaurants for specific dates, times, & number in party. It's GREAT!

Also,

:welcome:

If you have any more questions, feel free to send me a private message :goodvibes

Ha ha!
Thank you for the fun welcome! So, did you search for a different number of people than you needed? Is that a trick I should know about?

PS 4 more posts before I can PM anyone! :rolleyes1

jessielyn-thanks for the PM, but it wouldn't let me reply! :(

Do you know if it is just as good to check the website as calling? Of course it's easier and faster online, but I'm willing to do what I need to do. :)

The dining number reps use the online system too so they are seeing what we see...at least that's what I was told. One time I did call in about changing the number of people in my reservation and the lady and I were both pulling stuff up (me using the online system and her using her system) and we confirmed that we were both getting the same things. I think the online is better because you can check it as many times as you want during the day and it's quick and easy. Too many automated phone options to get to an actual rep using the phone system - IMO.

You'll be surprised. You may check for one night and then check 5 minutes later and get something new to pop-up...although it's not always what you are looking for, which is why people come on here and post ones they see that may be hard to get...to let people know "hey...it's there now!!" :rotfl:

And about your question about looking for more people than you need for a reservation - it's hit or miss. You'd think that if there was a table for 5 open that if you needed 3 and you went online to look that you'd find an opening. But it doesn't work that way. I only found that out from being on this site. Someone would post that they cancelled a reservation for 5 and I'd go on looking for a ressie for 4 and nothing...then I checked for 5 and it was there. So you can always check and make a reservation for more people than you need and then call the Disney line and ask them to modify to what you actually need and they will (again, opening up the extra spot(s)). I don't know if this is good or bad because I don't know if it makes it harder for bigger parties to find tables but I don't think it does because I see lots of people making ADRs for anywhere from 6 - 11 people.

Sometimes it's the opposite and you can find smaller tables. For example, once I reserved 2 tables of 2 for the 4 of us...I don't know if they would have sat us together or not but I figured it was worth the try. But then something else opened up later for 4 and I took it and canelled the other ADRs.

Hope that helps!

Hope that helps!

Yes! Thanks, that helps a lot! Whenever I'm at the computer now, I check every few minutes. I'm one of those very determined people, lol! ;) Especially because it's for my daughter's 18th Birthday!
Thanks again!

I'll be canceling a reservation for:

Hoop Dee Doo Revue
Friday 9/30
5pm
2 people

I'll cancel it tomorrow afternoon if I don't have any takers.

Just cancelled Coral Reef for 2 on 9/25 @ 11:35am. Decided to go slightly cheaper for Mom and do Marrakesh (which, I wanted to do last year, but skipped for Hacienda...)
