Hi,:)
I have found flights going from Manchester for £299 in September 2008 - is this a good price for this time of year? They are with Mytravel...I thought it was a good price but have never travelled at this time of year before. So...my question is should I book these now or do you think I will get a better price if I leave it for a while:confused3 :confused3

£299 is a good price any time of the year, I wouldn't hesitate if you are happy to go in September and you would find prices cheaper than that hard to find.

Its normal for Sept just look at Virgin for this Sept. Eg 10-24th £318.60 incl.
or if you want a bit of luxury Premium economy for £556.60
Sept is one of the cheapest months to go.
Best thing about going with someone like Virgin is you can go for 16 nights or 18 nights whatever suits you not just the std 14 nights.
You would also get approx 8,000 miles added a frequent flying club account for each person over 12 years old. Can be used for good discounts on future Virgin flights.
No guarantees prices will be same next year, only you can decide if you want to fix into the price now.

Cheers Johnny,
I thought this was a good price but am scared to book too early and then realise that I could have got a better deal if we had waited (we're on a really tight budget for this trip)
Have you been in September before? Most people seem to think it's quite a good time to go.

September is a great month to go - mind you it is a long time since we have been able to go then - schools here go back at the end of August. The crowds go down after the Labor Day weekend (first Monday in September) and the weather should be still nice and warm.

Ticket prices sound very good and if you are on a tight budget I would go with them as it is very doubtful you will get anything less than £300.

Happy planning :goodvibes

Thanks Wayneg,
I thought Virgin would be much more expensive...Do you know when the 2008 dates will be out?

Approx 11 months from your return date, but prices maybe higher to start.
It is always difficult knowing when to buy, especially if you are on a very strict budget.

Just checked BA also, they go direct from Gatwick £338 for this Sept. Personally I would not rush into booking but I dont like flying charter flights I like the flexibility of scheduled, like this next trip in August for 25 nights, would have no chance with a Charter airline.

Virgin holidays have their flydrive prices out for Sept 08.

You can check prices Here

I have been in September before, it is a good time to go as all the schools have returned after the holidays so the crowds are fairly light.
Weather still hot but not as oppresive as say July for example.
