We have an EPCOT park reservation for Sept 20th. I have nixed feelings about the Space 220 opening. If we can get in to eat, we are doing it, if for nothing else to be able to say we at there on opening day.

On the other hand, what is the opening going to do to crowd levels at EPCOT? Any guesses?

I just made a decision yesterday to plan a quick trip next week to Disney - nothing like last minute. Anyway, this wasn't on my radar. Should I try to eat here? We are staying at the Beach Club.

Where exactly is it?

We'll be there 9/22-9/26 so I obviously can't make reservations. I wonder how much demand it will bring.

Space 220 is adjacent to Mission Space.

I will be getting to Epcot by 10 am so I can walk straight over and try to get a table. I fly home on the 21st, so it’s my only shot.
if I don’t get in, I’ll do some rides eat at some booths and go spend time at the pool.

Hard to imagine Space220 having much impact on crowds - if anything, having another place to suck up a significant number of guests should be a net positive

I think every vlogger/blogger/podder/writer/instagrammer etc is going to be there to try to get in. I imagine a huge line right when the park opens and throughout the day. I don't think it will impact the rest of the park.

I would expect them to have a separate event for all the vloggers/bloggers just as they do with attractions.

I would agree that I don't expect it to have a big impact on crowds. I think it will have a larger impact on how busy other restaurants will be as I expect a long line for walk up at least the first few days.

It opens in 4 days.

I thought it was strange when they announced it would open but no reservations for a week after that. I think that is to let those "media" people go do their thing and paying for their meals instead of Disney footing the bill. The restaurant is not Disney run and could be Patina said they weren't going to "eat" the cost of an event, especially when the demand is there and PR is not needed.

We'll see if something pops up this weekend but why would you ever go to the trouble of a media event for this?
