Hello everyone!
I have heard from other people that some people don't join the Facebook page so I wanted to make sure this was open to EVERYONE!!!

The Disney Fantasy Treasure Hunt
Hello! We are putting together a treasure hunt during our time on our upcoming cruise! The treasure hunt will take place the whole length of our cruise (or Saturday through Friday evening). I am currently compiling a list of items to collect and am thinking we will have between 30-50 items for you to search for throughout our journey aboard the Fantasy! These items will be as easy to find as a pen to as difficult to find as.. well I can't give that away.. lets just say as hard to find as a hidden mickey! You by no means have to collect every item! I am doing this by points so you can just find the higher point items and still be able to win! Each item will range from 1 point to 5 points and will be added up on our last night or when you think you have found all of the items. This will not be a race like some scavenger hunts are. If you collect all of the items the first day, you will still have to wait until the last night to find out if you're the winner.
This is meant to be fun, not only for the little ones but for the adults as well! I want you to know that all of the items will be yours to keep after you collect them. I am hoping you will think of this as a way to collect souvenirs along the way that you may not have thought to collect without our ideas! Of course some of the items you'll want to toss or eat before we are back in Florida! This is also a perfect opportunity for everyone to use to explore the ship! Depending on how many families/people we have sign up, we have decided to award at least the top 3 winners (or families)!
To sign up you can email me at haybuggsmom98@Gmail.com or you can send me a message on here .. And I will try and get on here as often as I can to update our list :) Also, if you believe you have a creative, tricky or just plain fun idea for an item to be used in the hunt feel free to let me know and I will try my best to get it on our list! This is my first cruise on the Fantasy, so I may not think of a LOT of things that can be discovered on board (or off) the ship and your ideas are welcome!
You do not have to be a part of the Fish Extenders in order to join us! As long as you are on the ship with us that is all that matters! So please feel free to join us in the fun! The more the merrier!
If it is possible for you to sign up by September 14th that would be great! ( l leave the 16th) This will give us time to prepare everything before we head out of town! Don't worry if you're not 100% sure you will want to participate I will have extra stuff with me! But, if you think you may be interested please sign up so I will at least have an idea of how much of everything to bring! And it will give me an idea of how many prizes we will truly need! I'd rather have too much stuff than too little! I hope everyone looks forward to this as much as I do and I can't wait to see the unique (or original) ideas everyone comes up with! And we can't wait to meet you all in September!

Hello Everyone!
I just booked my cruise last week. I was so excited until I discovered this thread and realized the cruise is a Halloween themed event. lol. Can anyone tell me how far they take this theme..is it just for one night or throughout the cruise? It's just not what I was expecting and wasn't informed of this while booking on the phone with DCL. :(

This will be my 3rd cruise and while I LOVE all things Disney, I just wish someone would have let me know it's a special cruise!!!!

We are celebrating our 25th anniversary on the 23rd and it's on Pirate Night. We were on the Fantasy this same week last year. Disney has had the Halloween (and Christmas) theme activities on their own web site since at least January, and we couldn't be more thrilled! We cruise Disney to have fun and act like kids again :)

I don't think the Halloween activities will be overwhelming. All the main activities will be one day of the cruise. Last year most people were completely underwhelmed but I do know Disney is trying harder this year. I believe there is going to be a tree in the lobby decorated with pumpkins for the whole cruise but over then that, the decorations will be minimal. You don't have to participate in anything you don't want to.

What are your concerns? Are you worried about scary costumes? Opposed to Halloween in general?

Thanks MissJ!

I think when I first found out I was just panicked that the entire cruise would be all about Halloween. lol. I have nothing against Halloween, we celebrate here with my son. I am just not a huge fan otherwise and wouldn't have picked this cruise if I would have known.

From what I am hearing, it sounds more like there are extra themed activities in addition to the cooking classes or wine tastings ect. listed on the personal navigators, and a costume contest/trick or treat party. I can handle that. lol.

Just strange that no one mentioned to me on the phone when I booked through DCL. It must be really popular though because every ship for the entire months of September and October are celebrating Halloween!! That was surprising to find out. I've cruised before with Disney, in the months of September and October and neither were themed for the holidays.

Yeah I agree that it is strange that the cast member never thought of mentioning it because I think it would be a major upsell for most guests. I think this is the first year the Halloween activities started in September. Last year it was only the week before and the week of Halloween. I think it was so popular last year that the cruise line decided to expand on it.

Is there a FE for this cruise yet? I have 4 four families (and a total of 8 girls) going and we are all soooo excited!!!

There is a FE group that is open until July 23rd. If you are on Facebook, the link is in one of the previous posts, posted by "2BusyPlanning." All the info for the FE group is in the Facebook private group. But if you don't have a Facebook account, don't worry. Just PM "2BusyPlanning" and I think she will email you the info.

We are also on the Fantasy..We are interested in the fish extender.. didn't find a group started yet...anyone interested?:)

Hi Everyone!!

We booked "last minute" and are SO excited to sail on the Fantasy! It will be the second cruise for my hubby and I (first on DCL) and first ever cruise for our girls. The girls are 13, 11, 10 and 6. Can't wait!

Also, I put in a request to join the FB page, so will connect there too.

Does anyone have their excursions planned? I am interested to hear what other are looking forward to.

Sailing away with you all for an adult milestone birthday celebration/DH. Maybe I'll find the fountain of youth? (In spirit works also!)
Our last Disney cruise was in 2001 on the Wonder/our DS. So much to learn and absorb...one of which will be FB so I can be in on the Fantasy info! will try...
See you real soon! Kathy :hourglass

Welcome Kathy!!

As far as excursions, I have the following planned so far;
St. Maarten- rainforest Trek
(Previously did the 2 flags bus tour and beach on our own about 10 yrs ago on the Magic) while tour was interesting I wasn't overly impressed with the island. The beach -can't remember which one- had lots of people selling things and approaching us- I didn't care for that.
St. Thomas - champagne catamaran sail and snorkel
Previously did the St. John Eco hike and loved it. Absolutely loved it. St John is the most beautiful place I have seen. The beach we ended up in after the hike was incredible. Still debating whether to repeat this or keep the catamaran tour. (Not sure how my 8 yr old will likethe boat),

Castaway Cay- reserved getaway package and bike rentals. Started reading about the 5k and that interests me as well.

Hope that helps!!!!

I have a favor to ask. I am traveling with a disabled child and her service dog. We tried o get into a cabana so they can spend more time on the island. They are all booked.

If you are cancelling a cabana before the cruise could you please let me know so we can try to grab it. We don't even care if it's accessible at this point.'\
