Leslie,
That sounds like a great idea, it also sounds like alot of work. We have also been throwing around ideas. I think there are too many on this cruise that were on the May Repo to repeat our letters of marque again.

Yes, we are planning on bringing our fish extender with us.

Scott has been in Cheyenne all week, he is due back tomorrow, just in time for Scuba class (I hope he makes it for class). He has not had too much time to post, but I think he has been lurking.

I just checked the cruise roster and we are over 70 cabins!!! I will order more boards if the interest is there.

Hey Leslie, great idea, I can't believe that you are already doing this. I haven't been online at all lately, and most likely won't be anytime soon. Don't forget me.......

Robin

:sunny: GOOD MORNING ALL :sunny:
Hope everyone is doing well.

Frosty morning here. It is sunny, but 28°.:coffee:

38 weeks to go. Sounds like a long time, but it must seem close to Leslie.
The whiteboards are such a neat idea. Everyone on this board is so creative...except me.

:fish:Fish Extenders? We love ours. It is in the Disney room along with other cruise artifacts.
Might be nice to have on the cruise, but would hate to lose it. :guilty:

Sundays are my day for piddling around the house.
Little things that didn't get done during the week and surfing. :surfweb:
Tippy has had her attention for the morning and I've got a bunch to do.
Got to do it today as next weekend is going to be quite busy. A cousin is having a 50th.
And our grandson Payton 'gets double digits'. He turns ten. :)

Hard to believe that this was 4 years ago!

EVERYONE HAVE A GREAT DAY! :stitch:

What Lynn said, busy week and I get a day off to get life together and teach a SCUBA class. The back to the grind as it is.

Pups were happy to see me, I am the softy when it comes to treats.

The new smilies are pretty kewl.

EE sounds really great. I was very impressed with the queue area. Very good props. Including pressure cookers. Wish we lived closer or had better airfare. 69 weeks to go.

Peter, Jenn, Tracy and Bill hope you are having a good trip.

You all are lucky to be warm –5 this AM.

Might do the Walk to Disney, sounds like fun, Lynn will beat me as my time has become limited lately.

On the Walking to Disney Challenge.....
does that include all the walking you do in a day, or just the exercise walking.

It is 1103 miles from my pc to Old Key West, where we are DVC owners, so that is the number I will use.

1103 miles/283 days works out to 4.6+ miles per day until the cruise. :thumbsup2

Everyone have a good week.

Too bad we can't actually walk to Disney- that would be fun, but at a few miles per day, it would take forever.

Scott said he and Lynn might join us- it will be fun with more of us! Some people give themselves until the end of the year, some people do less time. It just depends on what your goal is.

I REALLY would encourage people to do the half marathon next year, it really was VERY fun. I kept on tearing up while I was walking through Magic Kindgom, it was amazing. I am really glad that I did it. I am not in great shape and am not a runner- 13.2 miles is VERY doable...please consider. It is also fun to run around the park wearing your medal.

Congrats on getting out and walking....I am going to crosstrain tonight and do step aerobics- so I will be referencing that chart to figure out how that translates into miles.

Of course I do, I am already registered for the half! :thumbsup2 It is Saturday, January 6, 2007. There are many ways to do it~ you can just pay and run/walk or you can do it for charity. I actually got an email from someone from the 11 night cruise whose daughter did it and they are from Canada and they volunteered giving out chocolate at mile 6. They are going again next year as well, I think their daughter is going to do the full. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask me or send me a PM. I PROMISE it will be worth the time in coming down- it's an experience like no other.

Here is the website: Disney Marathon

There are also a few different boards under the WISH section of the Dis. I am currently chatting on the Wk of Jan 22 WISH/running club....but I know there are many others. I believe there was a large get together and a breakfast at the last one.

One last thing- if people do want to do the marathon, I can send you info on training. (Which I didn't do last time, but WILL do this time.)
C

13.2 miles. (21.3 kM for Elaine)
Doable? :faint:

Actually, I may consider it. I figure that it's worth a try. After all DPD did it. :confused3

There was a guy here locally that did BOTH the full and the half. Don't know him, but that was quite an accomplishment.
The Story

Hi Everyone

Since we are talking about the Disney Marathon, Shari (spros) and Alex (First Timers) did the 1/2 marathon this year and are planning to do both the 1/2 and full next year (talk about Goofy!). So, it sounds like we should have one big happy marathon party next year!

Everyone have a good week.

People do it all different ways. Today instead of running, I cross-trained and did aerobics- which I translated into miles. 15 minutes of aerobic activity equals 1 mile. Some people wear pedometers and add all of their steps into their miles. You can do it whatever way you want.

Thanks for joining and welcome. :cheer2: :cheer2:

I promise 13.1 is VERY doable- I even went to dinner after the half with Char and Andy. Yes, I hurt but it was worth it and this was without training and a knee injury.

BTW- I went to see the MD on Friday. It seems I have a stretched ligament, which needs to be looked at via MRI. We'll see how that turns out.

Very, very cool. I will have medal envy! I would consider the full- but I am registered for the Chicago Marathon in October, which Robb doesn't know about and I don't want to do two full marathons in such close proximity. It appears we could have one heck of a pasta party!

Bob and Lee, to keep from losing our fish extender, we take a flex tie and put that around the string hanger after hanging it on the fish. You would have to cut the tie to get it off. We have also personalized ours with our screen name and dates and room numbers of the Panama Canal cruise, and the Member Cruise. We will add the date and room number for the 11 day before we hang it up.

I just figured our milage to WDW/OKW is 2323.54. It may take us a bit longer than the rest of you to make it to our destination!

Scott got sent out of town again, so we really did not get to see each other the one day he was home. :sad2: And he may not have time to post, so I guess that means I have to pick up the ball.

Lynn :eeyore:

We are coming on the cruise :) Just changed our May cruise to this one. At least I know my personal shopper will be aboard (hi Regina!!).

Have I missed anything?

We're home!!! More to follow on the trip but just let me say it wasn't Disney! WDW was so much fun yesterday. What a great way to end the vacation!! And that movie!!!!!! O Canada was the highlight of the trip!! Peter was so right about that one -- AWESOME!!! Ok seriously, it was a good movie, I'm glad I saw it. And Le Cellier was fabulous!!

Now -- All you new people --- you must send your information to Tony and get on the Roster before I can give you the link to the newsletter. I have gotten PMs and e-mails from people who have never posted to this thread or people who have posted only once. Now that the Roster is up and running again, we will go back to that way. Get on the roster and then you will be added. Thanks!!
