Hi all! Sorry I haven't been back since my first post here. I've been extremely busy (that tends to happen when you work full time, go to school full time and are also in the process of buying your first house). I have been lurking, and I do plan to tell all of you some more about us. I just don't have the time right now. I should have time tonight. :wave2:

JustMe2, we feel your situation, glad you can at least lurk. Your goals are worthwhile.

My favorite parts of the Oh Canada movie are the scenes of Blue Nose with Gordon Lightfoot background, the Snowbirds fly by, and the Scenes of Victoria BC, ( memories of when I used to work at Mt Rainer National Park – would go there for weekends).

OK you RCCL vets, would you cruise with them again????

I almost have all of the money to pay for our cruise! :thumbsup2 I am trying to decide if I want to pay for it now or stick the money in a 6 month CD. Does anyone know when our payment date is? For some reason, I think it is in July- if that is the case, I won't have 6 months for the certificate to mature. Anyone know the final payment date?

Hi Tracy,
Did you go on one of the older or newer ships? I have heard that RCCL is like Carnival- in the aspect that they keep their best people on the new ships. I have to admit that I am very interested in their new ship that is coming out this summer.

Did anyone look at the comparison article I put up regarding DCL, RCCL, and Carnival? Maybe I put it on the May thread, I don't remember now.

Looking forward to the review!
C

I have been on RCCL (along with Carnival, NCL, HAL, Disney, and Princess) and would sail on them again. I haven't had any real problems with any of them, but then again I love cruising and am kind of glass is half full when I am onboard. The best service top to bottom I have had was on HAL, but we sailed on the Jubilee a couple years back and had excellent service on it, even though it was one of Carnival's oldest ships. My current favorite cruiseline is Princess

thank you...

This is a fish extender ...

But First a little history !!!

Before the 2 week May repo Cruise..

Epcotkilterfan/ Debbie, found these at a little Dollar like Store in Ohio.
was so excited and posted a picture asking if Anyone would like one ...
Well she went back and bought out the Store...
and Gave them as Gifts to every May Repo Cruiser..
They then hung outside the Stateroom on the fish acting like a mail box For other gifts given by other Cruisers thru out the 2 weeks at sea..

Then other Disers were out bidding each other on Ebay for them for the August Repo..

Tink33 I think the dry wipe boards are a great idea. :cheer2: :mickeyjum WinoTracy my DH and I were talking and we might like to do something but are not sure exactly what this is all about. Maybe you could put an article in the newsletter for us newbies. :confused3 :confused3

I would love for all of you to think that I am the most organized person. Truth be told, it will take me 8 months to complete this project. On the May cruise, I was still making wine charms for the wine tasting party that day. And I started making those 3 months before the cruise.

I will work on the prototype when my DH goes to his conference next week.

And welcome to all of the new cruisers in our group.

Odd, we took the Sovereign on a four day cruise a few years ago and they had the usual pool games during the day, maybe not as many indoor things during day like cooking demo's and lectures as Disney, Princess, and HAL does.

During the day we are now in "read mode", ie doing the reading we can can't do during the day at home. I like to partake of the ocassional cooking demonstration etc, but most of the free stuff is, been there/done between cruise lines so I don't really notice how much is there or not.

I am definitely looking for the 11 day cruise. I get to hit several islands I haven't been to before. :)

Not wanting to start a shopping panic, like on the May repo, but I found Lynn two pairs of capris today, one was black and the other navy blue. She was looking for the navy blue ones.

Yes, they had the typical pool games. They had the casino. They had the fitness challenge stuff. On the second day at sea, they had one cooking demonstration, one towel folding demonstration and a napkin folding class. The problem with most of these was that they were in the centrum which was small on the Grandeur. The Soverign's centrum is much larger. The captain did a q&a. But all of this was on the second day at sea.

My biggest issue was cleanliness. Vaccuming was not done daily in the public areas. The halls certainly weren't done regularly. The walls in our cabin had pencil scribbles and make up all over them. The shower curtain was dirty on the bottom (looked like mold or mildew to me). And there was a layer of dust under the edge of the tv.

We had great company though :goodvibes

The final payment date is July 4th, this will give us another reason to celebrate..... independence from DCL.

Carol, that would be a good article for the news letter. :thumbsup2

Cruising on DVC points is Independence for us. :woohoo:

Good photos you guys of the Fish Extenders, I wonder if we could start a small manufacturing company to develop a whole line of Fish Extenders.

AHHHHH - a fish extender - now I get it! Thanks for the pictures!

What kinds of goodies did everyone do for each other on the repo cruises... I have been trying to think of something and am drawing a big BLANK...

Here are some of the things I remember of the top of my head... I'm sure others will jump in too!

Fish extenders, Bubbles... all sizes, Special M + M's with cruise sayings, Pads, Pens, Pencils, Mini Flashlights (to help find your way, you know where, in the middle of the night), Pirate Patches + Coins + Jewelry, Glow Necklaces, Flower Leis, Luggage Tags, Sail-away packet of Gum, Handiwipe, Luggage Fastener, + Pen, Recipe Booklet filled with Disney Recipes, Mint Tins, Chocolates, Door Magnets, Pirate Door Magnets, DCL Can Holder, Postcards from a person's hometown, or country, Candles in a special personalized glass holder, Mini Frisbees... I could go on + on!

I actually made a list somewhere... It was such fun. :thumbsup2

You guys will have SUCH A WONDERFUL TIME TOGETHER meeting each other and making memories!!!
