From what I heard - a good time was had by all!

Ken

It's a sad day here in Canada with the passing of The Great One, Wayne Gretzky's mom, Phyllis.

My Mom and I have had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Gretzky on numerous occassions as the family only live in a town 30 minutes from our house. What a gracious lady. She will be missed by many. :sad1:

Hope that everyone has a great day.

Ken, is Shari okay, being in NYC??? Will she be able to get her plane out?
Hope they get the strike settled soon! :flower:

I have friends who drive themselves into the city for work. Looks like they have to have 4 people in a car. I wonder how many got turned around at the tunnel???

Hi Georgie

Shari said that people in cars with less then 4 where just picking others up off the street in order to meet the 4 rider rule. They got their subway ride in on Monday so that was taken care of. They are using a tour bus today to get around (although she said it was very cold on the top level of the doubledecker bus). Cabs are still running, so hopefully they won't have a problem on Saturday.

We Also did the DD bus in NYC, to get around, for a day was fun...
Glad to hear the milestone of the subway ride was met on Monday !!

Our friends who live in Levittown and work in the city are actually on vacation in WDW right now - so thankfully they aren't there.

Just wanted to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas. We will be heading over to EPCOT tomorrow for Candelight Processional, but other than that no big plans!

Kelly

Kelly have a great time at EPCOT. Wish we were all there.

Work has been nuts. What else is new.

Actually we are getting a warm spell and it is 42 right now. All the snow is melting and making the roads very icy.

I hope one and all are enjoying the Holiday Season.

Morning everyone- or afternoon, I should say. ;)
Shh....don't tell anyone I am still in my PJ's.

I'm trying to stock up on sleep as I have a small cold and am preparing to work the next four days in a row. I was not going to work on Christmas day, but my old job called and offered a nice incentive so- I will work from 11am to 7pm if they need me. My thought process was, Hmm going to Disney in January, July, and September- yes, i'll work. Also, if the patient census remains low at Rush, I'll need the extra money to make up for the money lost at Rush. I've used all of my paid time off. :guilty:

Any DVC members considering going to the opening of Everest in January? We are thinking about it, but we'll have to see what happens.

Celeste: I think they are having a soft opening next week and we were thinking about going on Tuesday or Wednesday. I'll let you know if we in fact do.

Hope you are feeling better real soon

Gee, I didn't know they were having the opening so soon! Guess I must have missed reading a newsletter or two along the way!

We may go down to the world in January for my birthday... (or later... gotta use some points before March... you know how that is ;) )

Whoever does go... please post how it is!!! :bounce:

Kay- how is the soft opening being advertised? Yes, let us know.

Georgie- A fellow January birthday person here! I am a Capricorn. I believe the DVC event is January 26-29th. I can't remember if we heard about via mail or internet?

If you bring your DVC card- they will give you a fast pass and each DVC member can bring three people.

However- Robb and I just went and looked at hot tubs- just about the price of our upcoming cruise. HMMM cruise or hot tub? :confused3

Celeste:

I have gotten so many brochures recently, can't remember which one it was in. I believe it was in a DVC brochure 'cause at the same time I ordered from Disneyshopping.com with a code coupon that was listed.

Anyway, it said the soft opening would be 12/26, 27 and 28 and I was talking to Harry about it and discussing if I would be able to go on it or not with my cast and wondering if I could walk on it or not to get on. Around that time is when we booked our trip for next week and figured we could do it.

I'll let you know if in fact that is the case when we get there next week. We are not staying at my nieces house, we will be at Boardwalk instead. I love staying on property and hate to drive into the parks each day

So, you and Robb are looking at hot tubs. Good decision. We use ours almost each night. When we have party's at the house, they are a big hit with everyone. Sure can't go wrong there at all.

Harry's b/day was yesterday and we didn't do very much. Going to oldest daughter's inlaws house today for our get together and tomorrow to youngest daughter's house for our get together. Have a busy weekend.

Finally I am walking on a booted cast and legs sure are sore - but a little every day is what it will take. We change the cast every two weeks or so and that helps a lot. It finally comes off for good in March.

Good Morning all,

Lynn is at work and we are doing our Christmas dinner tonight so I am starting to do some of the baking etc…. The pups are all fed and nestled in their beds with visions of dog bones dancing in their heads….

Last weekend we saw Narnia and I really liked it a lot.

Celeste, we have a hot tub but have not used it for about the last year. They are nice, but remember there is maintenance, water care, etc… I need to replace some switches on ours and may get it up and running this summer.

You lucky folks in FL enjoy EE.

Have a great day,

Hope everyone has a enjoyable Christmas Eve.
For all those who must do last minute shopping....my condolences. :guilty:

Why not both? You'll love the hot tub, especially on cool and :cold: days. Nothing like a tropical drink, music(read buffett here) and a hot tub to get you in the cruise mood.
Matter of fact, after I make the trip to the deli this morning, I plan on kahlua and coffee in the hot tub to recover from the trip :scared1:

Hmmm, do you wear one of those Emiril jackets or just an apron like Mr Food? :rotfl2:
Me, I just an old t-shirt. It will get nasty anyway.

Tippy too. She likes her's wrapped....so she can "unwrap" them. :dog:

Just a Tshirt and Sweatshirt here.

One more sleep till Christmas....

The pups will sit and stare at their Christmas stocking, they are so silly.
