:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: I thought so, myself on other cruises. This will be my first DCL cruise. I hate to hear that about the mattresses. I had high expectations! Hey, the mattresses in the Concierge level is always grand, though :cloud9: Unfortunately, we will be cruising in the cheap seats this cruise. :lmao:
OK you two, I'm only going to share this once, so listen up....THE BEST WAY TO GET A GOOD NIGHTS SLEEP IS TO HAVE 2 SHOTS OF RUMPLE MINZE OR JAGER OR GOLDSCHLAGER 30 MIN. BEFORE YOU GO TO BED :stir: :stir: :stir: :teeth:
Shoot, have 3 and then sleep on the floor :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Ahhh...
I remember my husband saying this once to me and him not understanding why I was staring at him blankly.... :confused3 :teeth:

He then explained it to me and I chalked it up to the 11 year age difference between the two of us. I love it when I can tell him- well, I wasn't born yet, maybe that is why I don't get it..... :rotfl: :rotfl:
I, too, am younger than my spouse, but I grew up watching television, so I learned a lot of the old cliches mostly thru parodies. I remember one SNL that had Heston on as host, and they went thru a series of 'sequels' to Soylent Green, of him basically coming out and saying .....

"Soylent Blue is people!!"
"Soylent Red is people!!"
"Soylent Pink is people!!"
"Soylent Yellow is people!!"
"Soylent Brown is people!!"

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KEITH & CATHY

I PUT A BIRTHDAY WISH FOR YOU OVER ON THE BIRTHDAY THREAD

HAVE A WONDERful and MAGICal DAY

You probably already have about 10 recipes already! :lmao: But, here is just a simple Sangria recipe to make. I actually call it Sangria Punch. Now, my measurements may be off, because I am one of those people who do "just add this until it reaches consistency" and "add some of this until it gets to the taste".

Bottle (or 2 ;) of red wine
1/2 cup Brandy (peach is best) - or more if you want
Tropical Fruit Punch (2 quarts)
1/4 bottle of 7up (1/4 of a 2 litre, so .5 litres)

Have ice in your punch bowl and just pour the ingredients over it. Then stir it well. Then add cut up fruit into the mixture such as oranges, apples, peaches (especially if you used the Peach brandy), limes, etc.

If it doesn't seem sweet enough, then you can add some sugar, more 7up or punch. I play with this recipe all the time.

This sounds good too. It also sounds as if it'd make a large quantity, which I will need.

Thanks for the recipe!

I'm diabetic so sugar content of that nature would knock me out guaranteed!!

In reality, alcohol in general is not good for diabetics but I guess anyhting in moderation is ok, trying to juggle the wine is good for you vs sugar is bad can turn you into a classic jeckyl and hyde....sheeshh[/QUOTE]

My DH is diabetic as well. His doctor told him a couple of drinks every day was okay. He's to keep a real close check on his sugar, but he's good about doing that anyway. His drink of choice is rum and diet coke.

OK guys going to interrupt the lovely sangria discussion (by the way going to make some tonight now that everyones been talking about it) with an important question.

Do we know if we are tendering at any ports or not? Just curious as if we are it might make us rethink the trips we just booked. Anyone any ideas?

Probably won't tender in St. Thomas. We didn't tender in Antigua last time. Don't know about the rest. Except Castaway Cay :rotfl2:

The East-Coasters may be able to answer this more definitively this afternoon, but my interpretation of the Google Earth pics are:

For sure DOCKS = St. Kitts, St. Thomas (large ships visible at docks) and, of course, Castaway Cay
Probable Docks = Antigua and Barbados (no Ships there, but appears deep enough)
UNKNOWN = St. Lucia (obscured by clouds)

ok, so what exactly do you all mean by tender? don;t we go into all these ports? or are you suggesting there is another way to get off the ship at some ports, ie ferry or boats running back and forth, umm an extended plank from the ship to shore (appropriate for pirate day) pirate:

and why would it change someone's decision on what trips to do?

last time we just went to nassau and cc so this is new to us

Basically you get ferried from the boat to the port. Never actually done it myself but my parents did last year but I can't remember where this was and nor can they.

We might decide to go on a later trip if this is the case as it takes so long to get off and you'd have to que early in the morning. Most of our trips at the moment are really early
