Anyone up for a friendly sprint to 11,200? I need someone to get it started so after dinner I'll have a shot at sniping it! LOL! :rotfl2:

OK... my spouse is finally ready .... TTFN!

All caught up (finally!). Here is that picture of Buddy --

He's a tiny Springer Spaniel -- only about 75 pounds! Just kidding (about the tiny bit). He is a huge Springer. Both of his parents were big dogs. He is a big baby and misses his mommy, but he loves  Bill to death!

Beautiful!

dinner? what time is it over there?

I'm here waiting for my spouse to finish dressing for dinner ;) so I thought I'd post a bit...

... yeah... we've recently decided we're gonna do Italy next year (july/august) with our expanded family. Plus we're back to quibbling over a cruise to add to it again. One faction wants Crystal or Seabourne (they make money but save a modest ratio of it) while another faction in the family wants low end like NCL, CCL or RCCL and we save out of ratio with decent/fair income. My point being that we could do Crystal - and we would not want to pay Seabourne rates... and this also means 2/3rd of us do not want to pay DCL rates too. And 1/3rd of us would love to do DCL including us! So it's a strange patchwork of disagreement - the same sort of chaos we had 2 years ago when we were trying to do a MED cruise with Italy for 2005.

So... we're at the point of finalizing the dates and beginning the jostling for which cruise line we'll do. Last time we settled on Radission SS - but they're renamed and reorgnaized into Regent... and doing different things now.

AND as for air fares - I think 80% of us are flying on frequent flyer miles - so we're all looking at the 330 day advance booking window that is emerging for July/August of 2006.

OK... gotta run to dinner now...

TTFN! :wave2:

There's a ....

... 3 hour difference currently. When it's 12 noon in Califonria it is 9AM in Hawaii. And sometimes ther is only a 2 hour difference - as it seems to vary with daylight savings time shifts in the lower 48... as Hawaii does not shift I think. This is cuz sometimes we call and get the time differences mixed up.

And naturally, when it is 9AM for us it is 3PM for folks on the East Coast. So - like right now it is 10:51PM for me here - but it still feels a little like 1:51 AM... and no one is on as it is only 4:51AM saturday on the east coast ... which suggests...

... If I were to throw up a buch of posts then I might steal the next century posting... hmmm,....

You got a ways to go for the next century. I'm up! I had a wet dog nose in my face at 4:30 a.m. Someone needed to go outside. Yes, it was Buddy and not Bill. :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Buddy is a very big Springer. My mom loves him to death. He misses my dad like crazy though, so I think thats why he loves to see Bill. We usually dog sit when mom goes on vacations. Bill is usually able to work at home and he'll stay home with Buddy when she's gone. It's not that we can't leave him alone, we just work long hours so we don't want to leave him alone that long (we're gone 11 hours 4 days a week). When he was a puppy, my dad trained him to be a lapdog. He never grew out of that! Now he's just a very needy 10 year old puppy.

It looks like it's not going to rain today, so we should be able to kayak. Trying to plan a good route. The lakes up here were designed for maximum waterfront property. Lots of little bays and alcoves to get the most water frontage. The lake closest to my mom's house is about a block away. It has an upper and lower lake, connected by a channel. Kayaking the channel is cool so we want to do that. From the lower lake, we can portage to another lake and end up on the other side of the spillway from where we started. Should take 2-3 hours.

Today the lake area is having The Camelot Frolic. This is food, beer, waterski shows, live bands and fireworks!! The clubhouse is a block away so our usual quiet neighborhood is going to be busy today! Should be fun though.

Anybody have a good comprehensive packing list? I'd like to use one in the next newsletter. Anyone willing to share?

:sunny: The sun is shinging brightly here in south Florida this morning..looks like a beautiful day!

Sounds great, don't forget the sunscreen!

I'm still here. It's just starting to get light out. I woke Bill up since he said he wanted to get going early :lmao:

While I was waiting for everyone to get up  I counted my posts for yesterday -- 37  :faint: Better slow down today.

Giood morning everyone! We are headed off to Ludington to watch soccer scrimmages (and here I thought a scrimmage was just a football thing) and then down to Grand Rapids to deliver some furniture to #2 DS's new apartment. I won't get cautght up until tomorrow.

Have a great day - and don't forget to send me your Secret Mickey information. See page 1 post 5 for more details.

Have a great day Gail! Hopefully the weather will be nice for you. I know north of here it is raining right now.

You could add climbing the stiars at the CN Tower in Toronto to your lsit of "things" to do....here are the details...

CN Tower Stair Climb
City: Toronto

Forget the stairmaster at the gym; take on the real thing and join more than 1,000 other students in climbing the 1,776 steps of the world's tallest free-standing structure. Put a team together from your school. All the money your team raises in pledges gets credited towards your school fundraising goal. To find out more about this event, or to sign up your team, please visit the Stairclimb website .

Did you know?

* It takes the average, moderately fit person only about 30 minutes to reach the top of the CN Tower.
* The 1,776 stairs of the world's longest staircase are entirely closed in - no windows to distract you from your goal to reach the top.
* In 1986 United Way made it into The Guinness Book of World Records. Sukhbir Dhillon raced to the top in 8 minutes, 17 seconds, establishing a Guinness Book of World Records for the fastest time up in the world's tallest freestanding structure. The world record was broken in 1989 when Brendan Keenoy reached the top in a record time of 7 minutes, 52 seconds.
* Sydney Olympics' cyclist Chrissy Reddon is the speediest female ever - in 2000 she finished the feat in 11 minutes and 52 seconds!
* Over 8,000 people climbed the CN Tower in 2000, raising $550,000 for 200 United Way health and social service agencies.

30 minutes my foot.....It would probably take me an entire day!!!!!

Sounds like it is similar to the Sear Tower Building here in Chicago- Maybe a little smaller: Join the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation’s fifth annual race to the top of the tallest building in the USA: 103 Floors, 2109 Steps

I'll let you know how long it takes me.... :rotfl:

Good morning all. Just wanted to say hello for today. Everyone have fun with your Saturday plans.
