:goodvibes I like Captain crash's math alert's since I am so numerically challanged I find it interesting when people are in to statistics, logistics, etc. I'm actually beginning to miss CC's words of wisdom and colorful posts! Hurry back from paradise, capn- we need pictorial flair to go with our posts and you have a knack for that! :goodvibes

I am now on Donner Pass (between reno and sacramento) and have no internet service. I can't even send this message until the flippin' light turns green again. :badpc: :badpc: :badpc:

:surfweb: About the bowling alley in Reno, it has these really neat life sized bronze statues of kids bowling. Then they have an escalator that leads to the actual bowling alleys. Pretty nice set up. Lights green!
False alarm, went red again! Anywhowho, I am severely bored tonight as this is the last day of my workweek and tomorrow I get a day off! Movies and shopping on the books for tomorrow!

oooh, green light :bounce:

Hello... I was just ducking in using my BILs' computer to show him a little of the wild nonsense that goes on here... (I showed him the photo of me superimposed on the dancing grass skirted fellow) ... and I snapped to the last page to see what was happening... when I spotted a reference to ME.

Todays' surprise BD went off perfectly. I took just over 400 pictures in about 4 hours. It's really been a sweet day out here... and now every family has one or two who are napping to recover. And, what am I doing? Yeah... I'm lurking on the DIS. :confused3 And I am also relaxing - but in my own unique way. :thumbsup2

So... I'll be back at my hotel and using my computer with my usual bookmarks (I don't wanna mess much with my borrowed computer here) ... so I'll be back to posting a bit late (very late) tonight. Tomorrow we are doing a water park with 4 families... it is a first for us anywhere (water park) so it should be rather nice as a fresh experience. I am NOT bringing my DSLR though... and my other BIL suggests the SD series of Canon digicams is water resistant to 20 feet. That is something previously unknown to me - as such I am sort of skeptical - so I'll be trying to confirm that feature before I take ANY digital camera near the water! On my last DCL cruise I was carrying 3 kids through the surf (my daughter on my shoulders and 2 of our DIS friends kids - one in either arm - who were too tired to make it back to where everyone else was waiting for us - and walking on the fringe of the surf where the sand is wet and easier to walk on I was splashing my feet a little... well... I splashed some sea water onto my DSLR which was dangling from my shoulder and that sort of destroyed it. Repairing it was only $185 but - it did deny me the use of the DSLR for the remainder of the cruise. I fell back on the spare SD400 digicam.

At any rate, I'm gonna browse backwards from here a little and maybe post some.

PIT.. thanks for your gracious remarks of tolerance for my silly mathamatical constructs. If you wanna see the notion of math gone NUTS then you should look up my thread asking folks what they got when they tried booking on a guarantee basis. I recently had someone who csommented they were a math and statistics professor/teacher(?) who said something about having a fun time looking over my analysis - and that my summaries would have been a good final exam question for his students! Now.... that gave me pause to reflect... now... do I REALLY know what I'm talking about if this fellow was so impressed with my numerical summaries? And I never had higher order calculus or physics inschool... just business stats and the like that you get in B school.

OK... time to lurk... :thumbsup2

Well since everyone on the east coast is bailing... guess I will too...... you won't see me until after 5ish tomorrow... gonna spend some time with the neglected DH in the parks.... :rotfl2: Goood night!

Whoa... passed 1500 and didn't even realize!!! Sheesh! Think the Tag Fairy will every find me??? :sad2: Perhaps I need to say something profound.... :rotfl: Moi? I don't think so......:rotfl2:

tagger.gif

TAG FAIRY? TAG FAIRY...??? Hah! I don't get ANY attention 'roound here anymore! Sooo... I don't believe in faries (until I get TAGGED that is...) .... :confused3

Seriously... I don't know about this TAGGING thing. From out here in Southern Califonria we take "TAGGING" very SERIOUSLY! Heh-heh-hee... YEah, THATS' RIGHT! When WE catch a "TAGGER" ... and IF we convict 'em then we make them serve 1000s (T-H-O-U-S-A-N-D-S) of hours of community service CLEANING UP all their "TAGGING" activity! Heh-hee-heh! Yeah... we even impose HARSH PROFESSIONAL COUNSELING for chronic TAGGERS. I fear our DIS TAGGER (if caught) would get immediate counseling in addition to community service!

tagger.JPG

I think... our DIS TAGGER should be very careful with as MUCH TAGGING as I've heard they've done! Shoot... ya kno... we might even be dealing with

Capt Crash must be at some rip snortin' heck of a 80 yr old party to keep him away all night.... can't believe he hasn't fired up the laptop from where ever and given us a birds eye view of the place....... He let ME walk away with 9600:teeth: and Bob (i think) 9700!! :lmao:
But.. I'm sure we'll hear all about it sometime later.. what's HI... 6 hours behind??:confused3
But it IS so nice and peaceful without all that MATH!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

What are the odds of us seein' 10,000 tomorrow? HECK - at this pace it's just blisterin' along. And yeah... I think I have a good excuse to be OUT OF THE RUNNIN' for 10,000th. RATS!

But - if tomorrows' water park has a wifi HOT SPOT... hmmmm,.....

Oh yeah... on my wrist watch it's 10PM but over here its' 7PM... and we'll supposedly be up til 12 midnite local time. MY poor BIL from Boston is looking at his watch at - of course - 7PM here is 1AM for his family. Needless to say he is not expected for dinner tonight. :badpc:

Good morning everyone! I am still trying to get caught up on all the posts. My speed reading is fine it is all this clicking to turn pages. I'm on a Cable line and it still seems to take forever.

Any Hoo How... :teeth:

I am hoping to get caught up today -right around the drama of the 10,000 post!

Okay, let's see...comments over some things I've seen posted...

I love the new Diet Pepsi Jazz flavors - my fav is the Black Cherry/French Vanilla. I know most are favoring the Strawberries & Cream. So, I'm different, what can I say...

Ahh yes, Lauderdale by the Sea! Easy to miss....:rotfl: You can always find me at the Wal-Mart....:teeth: Or the Disney Outlet at Sawgrass....;)

I love the Sawgrass Mills outlet! I go typically once a year. Okay, this post was on Girls' night so...I think there should be a Girls' shopping spree at the Mill...

OK....

... lets set this up properly... the 10,00th posting is more then mere DRAMA... it's really suitable for prime time on ESPN - only we don't have a proper agent - so the air rights appear to have been squandered. As such it wil be a liited circulation quasi web cast (here). AND SO.... the FINAL SPRINT to the 10,000th posting will culminate the collaberative efforts of several dozen enthusiasts with at this moment 172,340 "hits". That's no small figure! So... this IS a defining moment in our joint little community tapestry here.

Now turning to the references to Sawgrass Mills... YEAH, I'm pretty familiar with the place. Every time we get with 150 miles of the place my spouse begins to behave oddly in anticipation of my getting her there somehow before we go home! SO yeah.... she's an enthusiast of the joint!

And on the Jazz flavors... I've not had the pleasure of trying any of these yet - but if I had to guess... I am a starwberries and cream sort of guy - and I would GUESS this would be my preference. Our mini-fridge is now packed with Aloha Maid soft drinks and the near future has these dominating our beverage menu!

So - off to browse backds I go. I am wacked from the day - it's been really nice - plus a LOT of chatting and getting caught up on with family tonight. However, near the end of the evening I was falling asleep out here. SO yeah... I'm still tired but will stay up a little while most likely. AND .... will I get caught up tonight? What - are you kidding? I'd say it's awefully unlikely since my FIL made a loose proposal to have breakfast with my our older daughter and I beginning at 6:30-7AM local time!OK - gotta run off a lurking and browsing backward through our thread!

Good Morning everyone!! Do we make it to 10,000 today?? :confused3

Nite all. I haven't had the triple Fat Mo burger yet. 3-8 ounce patties for a total of 24 ounces of beef, sauteed onions and mushrooms with the works. That is why the south leads the nation in heart attacks and clogged arteries. :lmao: :rotfl2: We are looking forward to going to Grills and having the sea scallops wrapped in bacon. Night. Mike

MMMM..the sea scallops wrapped in bacon..my favorite with the sweet potato fries of course.

GOOD MORNING ALL

HI-HO HI-HO It's back to the salt mine I go.

At least today I should get too go home. :cool1:

I am emerging yet again from Lurkdom! I am limping along trying to keep up!

Anxiously awaiting post 10,000. I will give my little contribution towards the "new" start line...... I would never call it the finish line with this crew :rotfl2:

So on to the catch-ups:

1. Conrgratulations Celeste, between work, school and marathons, that's amazing!!
About the tea (this is for Lynn too): if you have a whole foods market by you, they just started selling mighty leaf tea in a box, not too many varieties though. I have ordered loose tea from their website for my mom and it is wonderful!! The Yunnan is the best, try it onboard if you haven't had it yet.

2. PIT: We live about 20 minutes East of Hagerstown, MD. So you pass us by on a regular basis! There is a great Buffalo wings place right off 81, if you ever stop...

3. ScottH: I am not sure we can make the wine and cheese met. I will have to pry Hailey off Cinderella's carousel, she won't stop talking about it :rotfl:

4. Excursions for us: The only formal one we have booked is for Jon and I to go mountain biking in St. Lucia. i see from the list no one is joining us..... should be a good laugh to watch me try this one, may be worth the value right there :dance3:
We will be snokerling on our own in St. John and setting up camp at the Malibu factory in Barbados...... if we miss this one I will cry! (and now I have to pack bubble wrap to get my precious cargo home!)

Hope everyone has a great day, have 3 hours of meetings straight soon, so I am sure I will miss #10,000...... Congratulations in advance to the winner :cheer2:

I so did not need to hear that. I've had a number of MRIs over the years, and always struggle with them. I hate being in the tube - don't need to be sedated, but close.

So, Neurologist wants me to go have a new scan at a brand new 3-Tessla machine. And, for the first time, he wants it done with contrast. So, on Weds morning, I get to go have it done. Guess it is time for the anxiety to start kicking in...

Tony,

THe tube for me is a piece of cake, I ask for some Island Music and take a nap, and naps are rare for me. View it as a time to relax, nothing to do but layback close the eyes and dream of a Disney Cruise. The injection was a -10 on the 1-10 scale. No fun at all.

Good morning everyone! Back to the salt mines for lots of us today. Only 20 more working days for me!

Great job Celeste!

Good morning to all to all of you.

Have a great day. We are gearing up for our quick Notre Dame trip thenonly 14 days after we get back from that we leave for Florida!!!

I wonder when docs will start to roll out.....should be in a week or two!

Have a great day everyone!

OH......Good luck on the MRI...sorry you have to go through that :sad1:

OK - we are taking Secret Mickey signups througn 08/25 - don't forget to sign up if you want to participate.

Are you interested in being a Secret Mickey (secret pal) while we are on our cruise? . We will have two categories – one for the under 21 group that would like to participate (we will further divide this group based on responses to match as closely as possible) and another for the adults. Dollar limit on total number of gifts for the under 21 age group is $20-$25 ($4-$5 each) and the adults $30-$35 ($6-$7 each gift). You will need to provide at least five gifts for your SM.

If you are interested, we need the following information in a PM
· DIS name of at least one family member
· Real name and age if in the U21 group, grade too
· Cabin number (for deliveries)
· Favorite Disney character
. Favorite color
· Your likes (DCL, scrapbooking, collects stamps, wine, Konk Koolers
(hey, I'll have one of those), wine, the beach)
· Any specific dislikes (I don’t drink, allergic to peanuts)
· Departure date for your cruise vacation

This information will be passed on to the person that is your SM so let us know whatever would help them be a good SM for you.

We will have a get together on one of the last two sea days returning to Castaway to “fess up” and thank our SM for being so thoughtful and making our cruise even better.

Please send your PM’s to Minniemouse71 for the under 21’s and I will take the adult’s notices no later than August 25th. You will have your SM before you leave for your cruise vacation – in case you want to do some shopping at home.

I hope to have everyone notified who they will be playing Secret Mickey to no later than Sunday, August 27th.

We have about 20 adults signed up but would love to have more! Remember - you must send a PM with the infomation requested to be added to the list. If you don't have a cabin number - sign up anyway. You can get that info to me once we board and I will get that info to the appropriate person.
