PrettyInTink said:I like Captain crash's math alert's since I am so numerically challanged I find it interesting when people are in to statistics, logistics, etc. I'm actually beginning to miss CC's words of wisdom and colorful posts! Hurry back from paradise, capn- we need pictorial flair to go with our posts and you have a knack for that!

I am now on Donner Pass (between reno and sacramento) and have no internet service. I can't even send this message until the flippin' light turns green again.![]()

About the bowling alley in Reno, it has these really neat life sized bronze statues of kids bowling. Then they have an escalator that leads to the actual bowling alleys. Pretty nice set up. Lights green!
False alarm, went red again! Anywhowho, I am severely bored tonight as this is the last day of my workweek and tomorrow I get a day off! Movies and shopping on the books for tomorrow!
oooh, green light![]()
Hello... I was just ducking in using my BILs' computer to show him a little of the wild nonsense that goes on here... (I showed him the photo of me superimposed on the dancing grass skirted fellow) ... and I snapped to the last page to see what was happening... when I spotted a reference to ME.
Todays' surprise BD went off perfectly. I took just over 400 pictures in about 4 hours. It's really been a sweet day out here... and now every family has one or two who are napping to recover. And, what am I doing? Yeah... I'm lurking on the DIS.

So... I'll be back at my hotel and using my computer with my usual bookmarks (I don't wanna mess much with my borrowed computer here) ... so I'll be back to posting a bit late (very late) tonight. Tomorrow we are doing a water park with 4 families... it is a first for us anywhere (water park) so it should be rather nice as a fresh experience. I am NOT bringing my DSLR though... and my other BIL suggests the SD series of Canon digicams is water resistant to 20 feet. That is something previously unknown to me - as such I am sort of skeptical - so I'll be trying to confirm that feature before I take ANY digital camera near the water! On my last DCL cruise I was carrying 3 kids through the surf (my daughter on my shoulders and 2 of our DIS friends kids - one in either arm - who were too tired to make it back to where everyone else was waiting for us - and walking on the fringe of the surf where the sand is wet and easier to walk on I was splashing my feet a little... well... I splashed some sea water onto my DSLR which was dangling from my shoulder and that sort of destroyed it. Repairing it was only $185 but - it did deny me the use of the DSLR for the remainder of the cruise. I fell back on the spare SD400 digicam.
At any rate, I'm gonna browse backwards from here a little and maybe post some.

PIT.. thanks for your gracious remarks of tolerance for my silly mathamatical constructs. If you wanna see the notion of math gone NUTS then you should look up my thread asking folks what they got when they tried booking on a guarantee basis. I recently had someone who csommented they were a math and statistics professor/teacher(?) who said something about having a fun time looking over my analysis - and that my summaries would have been a good final exam question for his students! Now.... that gave me pause to reflect... now... do I REALLY know what I'm talking about if this fellow was so impressed with my numerical summaries? And I never had higher order calculus or physics inschool... just business stats and the like that you get in B school.
OK... time to lurk...
