For you non-believers who think I cut and paste... check the shadows

wait a minute, how did you get a chair off the ship? what...did you throw it overboard and collect it on the way out :confused3 :confused3

We'll just ship it to the ship along with our snorkle equipment.

hmmm, interesting idea....curious what do you do on the return trip, do you ship them again or just carry them off with you? Is there a facility to ship things back and is there time to do that on the last night?

Yeah....

... I keep musing over the same thing ... and the hooligans who HAVE this this are probably snickering daily over our musings on it! I don't know if I am better off not responding or just feeding thier fancy in hopes someone "in the know" will step forward to reveal the real story.

Of course... the BEST answer would be something like...." hey Tom! we posted it somewhere on the thread... go find it!" ...

I gotta travel for 2 weeks come Saturday so I am winding down here until I get set up again with web access after sunday.... on then about.

Hee hee hee! I made it to the top of the page - and all because everyone else is sleeping or has a life or is busy or doesn't care or is tired because they posted ten million times to get to 8500 and don't have any words left.

Doesn't matter - I made it to the top of the page!

Sweet Sue
(uh-oh, I think I've passed over to the dark side......)

Now you should know better then to get me started with Dark Side references with Star Wars under-tones... Now you're gonna get me into googling a suitable image....

And with that in mind.... all I can say is.... "The Force is strong with this one.... "

I don't suppose anyone "in the know" would care to furnish the 3 sentence summary as opposed to leaving us "doubting Thomas sorts" to the hunt for the Holy Grail? NOw... I'll have ya' all know that I DO on ocassion fancy myself as a regular Indianna Jones sort....

Indiana-Jones-Lost-Ark-Whip.jpg

BUt.... the reality is I am a Dad with 2 kids, gainful employment, a household to co-manage under the quasi-dictatorship of my dear spouse of 10 years, and best friend of 22. So toss in my DIS addiction and I am quite nicely up ended in a happy but otherwise slightly overloaded manner. Like many who are challenged with juggling their all too busy schedules... I am nearly up to my eye-balls with stuff that should have been done yesterday. Or if not ... then I make a good business of faking it! Ya gotta figure... why are so many of my posts so dang long? Go figure!

At any rate... shifting to another thing.... I'm flying to a surprise 80th BD party in Honolulu Saturday.... and attending a swim team championship for my daughter. Add to that that I have not yet begun to pack! So - come late morning my spouse and I are running a cake over for her last day at preschool (a quasi last celebration to mark her last day)... then I'm packing, running final errands, then preping for the insanity of Saturday. Some time soon I am gonna be out of time to search for this DCL lounge chair "story" among 8700 posts. And we all know how well the DIS search engine works.

So... who do I gotta paypal to get the skinny? As an alternative I might swing a Micky bar with sprinkles hand delivered in substitution! OR ... I might bestow a prime central seat in the Mickey Bar line up - the better for YOU to see your competition as you chomp away at your Mickey Bar! LOL!

OK... gotta go... I've had my fun for the nite here!

TTFN... Or possibly ... until Sunday. I shall return though... when I do not know.... but probably just before 8800, 8900, 9000 and so on. I don't know about 10,000 though. Knowing the crew here ;) ... they'll time it for Sunday noon Hawaii time right in the middle of my surprise party so that I am CERTAIN to miss the opportunity to challenge for the prime 10,000th posting!

Thanks, Tom. Believe me, it was even more beautiful than it sounds. He took me dancing every night in the Promenade Lounge (I love to dance, but I'd been alone for 14 years so I was a bit out of practice!) He came to my cabin every morning (bothered my cabin mate a few times, I'm afraid) to bring me coffee and breakfast. He took me to brunch, tea, and dinner at Palo. He escorted me to my spa appts. and then met me when they were over. How could I not fall in love wih the guy?

Beth :lovestruc

Your story is simply wonderful to think about... and I am a only a sometimes setimental guy who really goofed up the proposal for marriage with my best friend of 22 years. Some time you have to get the story out of us - it's worth the wait if you're ready to snicker for 5 minutes solid! And after that ... you are invited to coax the story from us of how we 1st met and dated. Less snickering there but another story to share. :goodvibes

At any rate - we do indeed look forward to meeting you and your romantic knight on the Wonder! Hmmm.... that last play on words had a nice flow to it... a romantic knight on the WOnder.... an "R" nite on the WOnder... oh well... nothing shady intended - just that it seemed sort of cute sounding.

Oh I will share obliquely (misspelled) that in recent months I have taken a somewhat new view on life in general. In the past 6 months we have had so many around us - most close to us - who have developed chronic and usually terminal conditions that we have just turned our perspective on end for a shocking new order of living priorities. My spouse and I are NOT the same persons we were a year ago. As for me ...I think I am a far HAPPIER person in some ways - and in others I am like the critter at the end of Elmer Fudds' shotgun... about to scoot scared for my mortal soul! Yeah ... some things motivate me unlike any time before now!

So - I do indeed embrace things that we deem worth LIVING for. DCL and all the pleasures commensurate with it included. For what it is worth - the gang here has proven to be a very VERY pleasant surprise to shifting to the this voyage. Contrary to what some may have done... we just looked at the port schedule and our calander and shifted. SO - we did not check out the cruise thread first. When we transferred to this sailing we left a very nice group which we had exchanged postings with for several months. We grew together there as a modest community ... but over here it is a somewhat different "animal". We've been posting here since July 17th and now got less than 5 weeks til sailing ... and I do indeed feel nearly at home as I was with the other sailing. It is nice. No - I am not going to rename our daughter Scott, Tracy or Betty (yet) ... but I do feel a small sense of familiarity in a pleasant manner with many here.

No - I can't say I'd recognize many on sight yet - except by the looks of the anticipated green bubba mugs (mine is gonna be black - my quasi-dictator spouse issued a spousal edict nixing the green bubba mug... I'm considerin' stachin' one in my bags anyway!).... however... but I imagine I'll know a few by mid voyage. I suspect if many had posted images of themselves then I would have clip and pasted their images into questionale but likely entertaining photos... so you are WISE not to let too many images of yourselves float around. I on the other hand have foolishly posted 100s of images all over the DIS. But if it is any consulation... my host has a 120 day roatating expiration... so the image links I've posted will self destruct in a domino effect after a few months after I post them!

So.... Aside from that - since I expect to be around a little (or a lot) less in the days to come - I thought I'd share these thoughts. You all know that I am not the only one who is likely to feel this way. We DO have a nice gang here. I am thankful for that. Cheers to all for being cordial, entertaining ... and offerring a less filling fare ... with more taste then otherwise! I have seen a couple of unkind exchanges in the past few months on the DIS ... regrettable... and it is nice to be free of that immature non-sense here.

Now will someone please tell me how the deck chair got off the ship? Where was that photo really taken?... and any other juicy news related to the story? I'm trying to preserve my Paypal balance for really important stuff - like more eBay junk I'm almost certain to get while using my internet access on the voyage!LOL! :lmao:

I'm not sure exactly how the deck chair got off the ship, but I imagine it was carried off. The photo was really taken in DPD's yard. I wouldn't say there was anything juicy related to the story. A simple little story in fact! Pretty much the same story as the person on the boards (not on this cruise) who has a DCL trash can by her pool. Have a great day!! :thumbsup2

i wonder if i manage to get top of the page whilst everyones asleep :cool1:

Easy way to know if you will get a top...

:teacher: :teacher: Math Alert :teacher: :teacher:

Take the post number that you will get and divide by 15. If it divides evenly, you will get the last post on a page. If the remainder is one, you will get a top! If you want it to divide evenly to know you got a top, take the post number that you will get, subtract one and divide by 15. Even and it's a top!

If you ship a box o stuff from the ship it has to clear customs and takes a while. This is what happened to me with a map I purchased. Wait till ya get off and find a UPS store. There is one in Coco and several in the WDW area. If you are returning to a WDW resort they can also ship from there and charge it to your room.

Good morning everyone. It's Friday!!! :thumbsup2 We finally got a break from the near 100 temps, but in it's place we got rain and storms, but hey, at least it's only going to be 88 today instead of 98. :cheer2:

Is there any chance that the lounge chair came from Mouse Surplus. I know I've seen DCL stuff on their eBay store before. They have a lot of cool things I've wanted to buy, like ride vehicles.

That's her story and she is sticking to it....

I too would like to have had some of those ride vehicles, A Toad Mobile would have been great. I miss Toad.
