I know Tracy has everyones email- maybe I should send it to her???

Mike- sorry to hear about the foot.

I went to the doctor today and he took me off one antibiotic and added a stronger one because I am going out of town. I also got a script for vicodin because I was complaining the the tylenol 3 did nothing.

Sept. 11
I'm still not ready to talk about how I feel about this day. I was living in Charlton, Massachusetts at the time and some of the planes left from Boston- when you would tell people you lived in MA, they would say comments about the planes left from that area- like it was our fault. Kind of weird. My brother works in Manhatten- we were lucky he was okay but he knows 173 people who died. (My in-laws live on Long Island) I still get anxious on this day. I think if you lived on the east coast during the event, that it was harder on you than if you lived farther away. There is more I could say, but I won't.

I sent the phone list to Tracy as she has all of the emails.

BTW- I don't have Scott or Peter's numbers. I thought I did, but they weren't in my long list of emails....maybe they got erased? I thought I had Scott & Lynn's at one point.

Celeste, when the nurse was poking and prodding the arch of my food with the needle to inject me with lidocane, I asked got freeze spray. My thought was to deaden it on the surface first, before jabbing me in the sole of the foot with that hand sized knitting needle on that insulin sized syringe :lmao: All is well that ends well, I guess as I came home and took a 10mg lortab so that I could walk without too much discomfort.

Got to run as I have sheets and mattress pad in the dryer, clean fresh bed linen to put on the bed, and I want to vacuum the living room and dining room so that I can mop the hardwood floors before going to bed. Have to pick up the wife from the hospital in the morning. She will be finishing up her 12 hour shift.

Welcome home Peter and Jenn. Hope you had a wonderful time in Disneyland. Welcome also to all of our new cruisers. Mike

Even if you are on your own computer???

I don't see how they can do that if you are your own computer?

Duh, yea, what if we are on our own laptop? I am going to see someone who might know the answer to that tomorrow. I will let you know what he says.

Ok, finally got caught up after the weekend. My grandchildren usually spend the weekends with me, and since I try to spend lots of time with them it usually takes me a while to get caught up. Happy Birthday, Anniversary, Welcome, Congratulations, Get Wells, and Welcome backs to everyone!!Only three more work days for me, and one of those days is a picnic/work day, Kind of a thank you for all the heck we went through with the buy out.
I too remember exactly what I was doing on this day 5 years ago, I was getting ready for work and watching Good Morning America and they were showing the smoke from the first tower, I saw the second plane hit the other tower and just knew that America was being attacked, I litterly just sank down on the couch and prayed for our Country.
This question may have already been asked, and if so sorry for the duplicate question, but does anyone know if there is wireless internet on board?? I know that they are not offering unlimited internet, but I would like to be able to check on my kids and grandkids at least once or twice while onboard. Any suggestions?? Just wondering if I should bring my laptop, or maybe just pay by the minute??
My granddaughter is not very happy with us going on this cruise without her, she told me Sunday to tell the captain to make sure that he was careful because there are three grandbabies that are staying home and want their grammy to come home safe. :( Ya gotta love em...
Now I just need to finish up last minute things and start my packing. Yikess!!!
I better get going. See ya all Sunday!!!

They can block use of specific ports through their firewall. So, all they have to do it is block skype's default ports, and restrict port 80 to http traffic.

From a network engineering standpoint, it is very easy to do - they just prevent it from moving through their network.

Wireless internet is available. I'll have my laptop, and will be on checking emails regularly.

I know I'm missing birthdays, anniversaries and other events going on this week. Sorry, it's a little hard to keep up. I can barely remember things from noon until dinner time (right Regina?) I got a PM from Regina and totally forgot to say something at dinner to someone. Luckily he reminded me ;)

(drawing a blank now).. the guy in Shutters that someone asked about Fl..... ugh! I can't remember. Ends in an O.... He is on the Wonder right now but is not taking pictures. He is the manager. He did not get married yet and was told that any smart woman would run the other way. :lmao:

Castaway Clubhouse party was today. Huh?? What's that??? They started this three weeks ago. The party was at 11:00. We had cookies, rice krispy Mickeys, OJ, Water or soda. Met the officers, saw a little clip from Tom and the crew at Celebration. Had to answer some trivia about the ships and got to know other CC members. Then they gave out about 5-7 prizes (special CC clocks) and then it was over. Had a little fun talking with the officers and other CC members, but were surprised it ended so soon.

I want one!

Thanks for the info..I am assuming this is only in certain areas?? Is there a charge?? As you can probably tell, I am not real computer savvy, right after I bought my laptop I had to call my son long distance to have him tell me how to open it. :badpc: :confused3

OK...

... I'm working on a list of all the kids on the cruise because I'm putting together modest surprise gift(s) for all the kids. So far I see 54 kids on board with our DIS group. Frankly, I'm surprised fow few kids are among the 295 that comprise the group.

Kids%20surprise%20ANIMATION%20%20PIC%201.gif

What we've got is not likely to be as dramatic as depicted above - nor is it the most expensive or exotic. - Even so there are a VARIETY of things we're mixing up to try and tailor the gift bags it to be somewhat age appropriate. So - with a little luck this will draw a small smile from half or most of the kids. EXPECT that if your child is not keen to what they get from us then perhaps try a trade with kids in another cabin - especially if the ages are SIGNIFICANTLY different as there is a good chance they will have different things in their goodie bag from us. AND there will be NO candy or sweets involved .... as we just had a $2200 dental bill for our daughter - and we would not wish that sort of result upon anyone!

OK... my wife tells me what we have may NOT be appropriate for age 1 or less. They are not child safe - so we may NOT have goodie bags for the tiny tots unless i run out and get something that IS appropriate. And she is eyeing me with narrow eyes on the 2 year old gifts that I had intended. Half of what I got has small parts or the right size to be a choking hazard. So - we may double up and redistribte what I got among the slightly older kids. Shoot - I think this is becoming a classic case of having ONE too many cooks in the kitchen (I'm the microwave cook and my spouse was Cordon Bleu trained)! So, Please don't judge us if in the end we don't come up with do-dads for the 1 or 2 year olds. And 1 year olds at the moment we probably do not have appropriate gifts (according to my spouse). Let me discuss this further with her about the 2 year olds.

a_brown-bag.gif

BELOW is a list of folks for whom I DO NOT KNOW if the 3rd/4th occupants are kids. AND may I say I can't tell if a child is traveling in a double cabin with no ages or relationship listed from the roster. If the 3rd/4th occupants listed are under age 19 then please let me know via PM and I'll adjust my list and allocate an age appropriate gift.

Yeah....

It is measured service by the minute. And you may want to buy "set" packages of minutes ... I think the max is 300 mintues for near $100 or so. On the 7/4/3 nite cruises they have an "unlimited access" plan. On 7 nite cruises it's $89. A bargain if you ask me .... can U tell from my 900+ posts here that I would consider a week of access a bargain at $90?

I know... I'm certifyable! :confused3

Hi All:

I'm Kay's sister and I'm going on the 9/17 cruise with her; along with my 2 daughters and granddaughter. We are all sooooooo excited. I won't be any good at work this week just thinking about leaving on Friday. This is our first Disney cruise. It took Kay forever to talk me into going and I'm glad I finally made my mind up.

O yeah, by the way; this is my husband's birthday present; his birthday is Sunday, the day we board the ship. He's being a good sport about me going.

I'll be meeting some of you soon.

Hi ...

... I'm sending a dupe via PM.... and I have down only one child aged 2. But you speak of having 2 daughters and your sister? Are any under age 18? As I was putting together gifts for the kids - and maybe NOT thos ages 0-1 or 0-2 as my spouse thinks my gifts are not appropriate for the real young ones (chocking hazard and simple inappropriatness). So I am looking for the kids that are really bewteen the ages of 18 and 2 - or those NEAR age 3 as opposed to just turned 2. Oh shoot - I don't know how my spouse is gonna influence the kids' surprise gifts from us - but I guess it's better we follow her admonishments.

So... are your daughters on the cruise between the ages of 18 and 2?

Duplicate of preceeding byh accident - so I'm editing it and substituting...

SO - this monday is gone - and it's just a few more days to go.

Cheers!

My girls are well over 18. My granddaughter will be 3 October 3rd.

Was just scrolling down on your other post and saw that Hailey (granddaughter) was on your list.

Just wanted to say good morning everyone, I feel so much better today- it must be the new antibiotic they put me on last night. Foot feels great.

I have sent the phone list to Scott and Tracy via regular email. If you would like a copy, please sene me your regular email and I will forward on a copy. You must be on the list to receive the list. (Scott, I can't edit the copy I sent you from work- so you're not on it yet.)

Happy to be walking pain free today... :cheer2:

Tony, Thank you for this response, I actually understood what you were saying and that makes me feel better about my new assignment. :thumbsup2 :teeth:

We're here at the World, finally. So far it's been a trains, planes and automobiles trip. Our flight was delayed due to rain, the rental car had a problem with the muffler cover pan and Stephen's SIL sprained her ankle yesterday at the waterparks and is now in a wheelchair :( I'm sooo looking forward to our 1st 2 days at sea.....eat, nap....nap, eat....swim, nap. OK, have to stop typing that word, cause we have to start our day :rolleyes1
