From PIT - I have spent my afternoon corresponding with people I went to highschool with. A guy I know, Austin, was diagnosed with testicular cancer on June 28th. It is very aggressive and he is going through the strongest chemo they can give him. He and his wife are expecting their 1st child Sept. 17th (of all days) and that date also happens to be the date of his last chemo treatment for this round. Not to offend anyone, but PLEASE pray for him and his family. And if you are not religious, please ust keep him in your thoughts. He is having a very hard time with the chemo. Thank You! He honestly is the nicect guy ever! Someone e-mailed me the pics of his "Chemo Party" . All of our guy buddies from high school shaved their heads bald along with him before the chemo. That's what friends are for, eh? :goodvibes

Said a litte pray for your friend, you see, I too had testicular cancer...I'm 10 years "CLEAN". :cheer2: :cheer2: I have to go every 5 years and have a checkup. If you talk to him and want to make him laugh, ask him how long he will be in physical therapy....He should ask "Therapy for what?", Then you would reply, "To learn how to not walk in circles"! OK, think about it... :rolleyes1 Again, as a survivor, I can joke about it. I learned, faith in God and laughter was the best medicine![/QUOTE]

Keith, great of you to share your experience, to be admired, for sure. So true on faith and laughter. :thumbsup2

if you have it documented hopefully that should get you through...good luck!! :thumbsup2

Ivan....the guy I spoke to was very nice....I explained that I was taking some baked goods that are not available in the United States and that my friends were really looking forward to trying them. He asked a lot of questions about what was in the buttertarts and how they were prepared. He asked if there was a cream filling on the top and I advised no, it was more like a pecan pie consistency. He told me that it would be fine. I made sure to get his name and I have it all documented (phone number, time of call). Since at the beginning of my call they advised me that my call was being recorded and he asked me for all my info that I could hear him typing into a computer....I'm hoping I will be fine.

Good Morning everyone!

PIT, I'll keep your friend in my prayers. This should be a wake up call. Guys, have that checkup done!

Also,

Happy Anniversary!

Steve and I will celebrate ours September the 18th! Could we be in a better place among better people!?!? I don't think so!

For all you gumbo lovers out there, I have to say it was goooood, if I do say so myself!

To everyone traveling or getting ready to travel, be safe.

Good Saturday all! What a week! The office was just crazy this week - like doing six days in four! Next Monday through Wednesday will be just as bad. Then, to top that off my youngest DS fractured his thumb at soccer (he is goalie so he can use his hands), he is building his Eagle project today (lots of Scouts at the house building martin houses) and my college kids are home (with dirty laundry). Won't be much cruise preparing for me this weekend but it is nice to have everyone home.

So, everyone have a good weekend. I don't think I will have much reading or posting time until maybe tomorrow evening.

:cheer2: :cheer2: Happy Anniversary! :cheer2: :cheer2:
:cloud9: :cloud9: Congrats on new grandbabies! :cloud9: :cloud9:
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Thanks for sharing Keith! Love the joke!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

  We received our docs yesterday!

Don't give up hope just yet, Beth! :wizard:

Just in case you see this Tracy...thanks for the help with skype! :woohoo: I'm all set up now! (QsMyPrincess)

Also thanks to Doug & Carol for assisting in the setup!! :cheer2:

I'm thrilled to be able to keep in touch (verbally) with the kids while we are away. Saying night-night through an email is NOT the same as on the phone!

Just checked the RadioFax charts and our friends that are sailing right now should be enjoying good seas. That is for both the 10 night Wonder and the Magic Western.

TODAY....

At 10AM at all Macy's (on the west coast/Califonria) the first 500 people at each store will get a $10 gift card. Unrestricted. Bring your spouse or kids and go in the MENS STORE (cuz far fewer customers pile up there) and get 2 cards (2 people) for $20. Then if you're "bold" ree-enter the store and get a 2nd card! Some people do! AND if you're QUICK - run to the ladies store and try to get one of those cards!

Gotta run... GOT 15 minutes before the doors open!

TTFN! And,..... good morning/afternoon everyone! :yay:

I'm .... I'm .... I'm speechless.

Er, no, I'm not. I'd like to thank the Academy................

Well Lenore...

... if THAT is the case, then let me be the FIRST to offer you this symbolic "Disney Magic Award" medal IN ADVANCE - as - so long as you step aboard the gang way for the Wonder, and so long as you go through the motions of persuing some Rest & Relaxation (this can be done while U sleep, while on the potty, or even while watching a show <TV, Movie or live theater>, among a myriad of other valid alternatives)... then you shall indeed have earned and "won" this "priceless symbolic award"... in fact, if you wish ... may I encourage you to print this page and cut out the medal pictured and affix it to your favorite blouse, shirt or tape it to your forehead (LOL!)... and go look in the mirror. Now.... isn't that a fine and magnificent award you've earned!!!

... Now you have indeed "won" something...
....Something that I dare-say is quite priceless in this day and age!

I need some experienced DIS cruisers to take pity on a newbie here and offer up some advice please :)

I need help re FISH EXTENDERS. I made a posting in the general forum and NOW I think I know what these are .... Lori and I would like one for our room, but I don't know how to buy one at this late date (especially up here in Canada.....). Any advice .... I'll make one if it's not too hard.....

Yikes! So much last minute stuff.........

Lenore

Elenore, Ya might try and send a PM to Carol (pahrumpgirl) and see if she has an extra, she did make several and might also be able to lend assistance with the putting one together. Hope this helps….

We are off to teach a SCUBA class.

Can't believe someone let 18 minutes go by and not catch that!

YIPEE!

The mini-navigators are printing! One week later than I planned, but I am still ahead of last time when I was printing them from 4-6 a.m. at my office the day we left for the PC cruise!

Okay, catching up on some other work.

Linda

You could try orientaltrading.com and use a quick shipping method. Or maybe party city has a quick shipping method.

Another option..buy the grass skirt table cloth and cut it down to fit.

We are late too, I PM'ed pahrumpgirl and she said she would have extra's on board, first come first serve!
Lots of last minute stuff, I am trying to find something worthwhile yet not $ to give out, I think I am going with some glow bracelet's, time is running out and that is all I can come up with. Next time I will be more fancy, oh and you should decorate it too!

And I will ask again, what time is everyone meeting at Grill's?

Sweet Sue is organizing the Grills meet...you can pm her.
See page one post 5 for information. They are meeting around the pool area first before they head over to grills. Don't forget to print your coupon at visitgrills.com.
