September 17, 2006 - 11 Night Southern Caribbean Part 2

First - a very big thank you to all who have put a lot of time and effort into the planning of this trip. We have asked many questions over the past year and someone always had an answer. Also some very kind words. We signed up on board the Magic in Mexico the day this cruise was announced and the folks on here have made the last 12 months breeze by (sort of - will the last two weeks drag or what?). We had been part of a DIS group last year before we went on our cruise to Mexico and believe it or not, we didn't end up meeting one person from the list!! Things tend to get crazy, especially with young children, and it is hard sometimes to meet up with people. We hope to put faces with names and enjoy others company on this cruise, but you just never know how things are going to work out. From the newsletter, to the roster, to all of the events folks are planning - it was a ton of time and very much appreciated. Again thank you!

We, too, were part of a Dis cruise (sort of) 2 years ago. It was a 4-day pin cruise. We tried to start a TAG game, but noone really wanted to play. Never really met up with anyone either.

We're really hoping that this time is different!

Had a huge Monsoon last night. Lost one of our 25 palm trees. Also ripped off the honeysuckle that was growing (for over five years) on trellises attached to our house in our entryway. Leslie is very bummed - loves the smell when they are blooming. Very strong!

Went to Costco buy milk!

A new movie player (already have one), a Playstation PSP (we have to have one to play on the plane Dad - smile, bat eyelashes - Dad melts - score!!), a . . . . . . . it turned out to be a very painful visit! Costco will get you every time!

Shoulda gone to Walgreens. Just picked up a Colecovision TV-plug in game with 6 games loded for $2.49!!!!

Who says nostalgia can't be cheap?!?!?

o.k. I just want to understand, when they accept your ticket for MNSSHP in the evening, you cannot have full access to MK if you did not purchase a MK ticket.....how do they keep you in the party area???

The whole park is the party area.

We are going the Friday after the cruise. We did three years in a row, but had to miss last year - canceled a trip at the last minute because of employee problems at the store, and we couldn't be gone.

So Tony, what time is dinner at Boma before MNSSHP ???? No wait, we have ressies at Crystal Palace for the 4 of us, if you want to eat there. If not, not a problem, just let us know sometime in the next 26 days, ok ????

We are going to MNSSHP on the 29th!

Today's journey to Costco unfortunately had a 5 after the 1 and an extra "0". That was without any appliances/tv's . . . . .

Kinda stupid right before a big vacation, but some of it was for the vacation!

I assume this is in response to Tony calling Costco the "$100 store" ...

So, does that mean you got out of their at $1,500 or $15,000 ?!?!

As for just before the trip ..... you NEED that stuff FOR the trip!

o.k. I just want to understand, when they accept your ticket for MNSSHP in the evening, you cannot have full access to MK if you did not purchase a MK ticket.....how do they keep you in the party area???

This is how it's worked in years past (that's not to say this is how they will be doing things this year):

1) With the MNSSHP ticket, you could enter MK park after 4 PM and receive a wrist band that allows you access to the party AFTER park closing. They could possiblly make people stick to the 7pm entry time, but that hasn't been done in the years we've attended.

2) If you are already in the park, having used your Park Hopper or AP, at ~4pm they will have locations around the park set up to exchange your MNSSHP ticket for the wristband.....you will NOT need to exit and re-enter the park.

3) At park closing, all party participants will be herded into one of the 'lands' while regular day guests are cleared from the park. (BTW, this is a great time to grab a bite to eat..you don't want to miss a minute of the fun).

4) Once the park has been cleared, the hounds will be released to

5) In terms of costumes, no full face masks are permitted for anyone. No costumes should drag on the ground, nothing offensive or overly risque is pemitted in the park.
