Okay....since some of you have asked....I will bring some recipe cards with me, but in the meantime...here is Mom's Buttertart Recipe...
Buttertarts
Ingredients
1/3 cup Butter (must be butter, margarine does not work well with recipe)
½ cup Brown Sugar
½ cup Corn Syrup
½ teaspoon Vanilla Extract
¼ teaspoon Salt
1 Egg (beaten)
raisins
walnut pieces
20 frozen tart shells (Mom uses Tenderflake Tart Shells)
Directions
In microwave, melt butter in large microwaveable bowl. Remove bowl from microwave and add Brown Sugar, Corn Syrup, Vanilla Extract, Salt and beaten egg, mix well.
Spread frozen tart shells on a cookie sheet with sides (Mom calls it a Jelly Roll pan) so the tart shells wont slide when you remove the pan from the oven. Add 5 or 6 raisins and 5 or 6 pieces of walnuts to each frozen tart shell. Spoon mixture over raisins and walnuts until tart shell is almost full (do not overfill as they will bubble when cooking).
Place cookie sheet in 350ºF oven for 15 minutes. The mixture will bubble up (look kinda foamy) and then the bubbles will break and settle down.
Let cool before eating
.they will be very hot when they come out of the oven
trust me on that one!!!!
Here is what they will look like when they are done (this of course is more than one recipe....20 don't last long in our house!!!!)
If you ahve any questions, let me know.
