Don't get me started on those @$%&! things! :furious: :furious: I could stare at them for hours and still not see anything! I swear, to this day, I think it was a massive conspiracy of people against us, and there really wasn't any 'hidden' picture! :rotfl:

Good after noon everyone! HOT HOT HOT here at the Mouse House 93º with a heat index of 100º  Just love September in FL!

I'm so glad to read this... I thought it was just me. I could NEVER see anything pop out either!!

Okay.. a couple more pages to catch up on. Thank goodness CC is sleeping in or something!! :rotfl2:

I've been thinking about this as well. I am bringing the Cheddar Blossoms, but am trying to decide whether or not I should even bring a bottle of something. :confused3 I have gone to Wine parties before where EVERYONE brought a bottle and a lot went to waste. I was just thinking that I would bring the CB's and maybe some peanut brittle. Is anyone bringing REGULAR drinks, re: water, diet drinks, cokes- we could handle this if needed? I know Kev doesn't really drink a lot (unless it's Corona :teeth: ) and might just try a little here and there. And with CC's kids coming I was thiking maybe we could pick up some kiddie drinks. Any thought Scott and Lynn? We are driving down in the pickup and could pack a cooler if needed. Let us know...

And Celeste, I'll share my Buttertart Care Package with you (I might need reinforcement to tear them out of Kevin's grip :lmao: )
Go to waste?? With this group?? Are you NUTS?? :rotfl2:
Besides.. I have a house quite close by that will accomodate any extra bottles of anything that is leftover..... :thumbsup2:

We're home again, without our little parakeet :sad2: We won't see him now for at least a month. :sad1: :sad1:  I know he'll have fun at Grandma's house, but I'll miss him. Back to the yard work now. Gotta get it all done before the Badgers play at 6pm Central (thanks Bob!)

Okay, I think I"m actually ready to announce this, but I will be on the first Med cruise- yes the real one- not the repo. :thumbsup2

We're in the planning stages of a MED cruise with family for next year. It's getting down to the wire and things are drifting off course... but may be saved in the nick of time. THere is a REMOTE chance we'd sail DCL depending upon who in our expanded family cancels attending. But the likelihood of sailing non-DCL is far greater. Oh well....

.... and on another note... I just noticed your blog link... fascinating drainage and ICU comments. We have several folks in various aspects of medicine and I personally would agree that ICU is an important but potentially controversial place to be in. Plus, we have family in Chicago too. Sort of near Cicero and Diversy. I have had business interests there and as such, before we had kids - I'd get out there 2-4x a year. I used to always schedule business near Halloween so that I could go trick or treatin' with my nephews. It became a ritual. Now I have kids and my 50%+ travel has dropped to 2-3% annual travel. Life has changed and I miss Chicago plus many of the other places I used to haunt. But on the other hand I would not trade the times with my kids for ANY of the business travel (or lost business) that I've missed these past few years.

Oh well...

Cheers... I don't blog but maybe some day I'll learn more about how it's done and start. Your Blog page is one of the first half dozen I've paused to view at any length.

Cheers!

Wow...

25 years ago I used to be addicted to (among other things) the Tom Baker Dr.. I have not had the pleasure of viewing a single episode of the new Dr. Who series. Maybe I'll look it up some time soon!

I'm gonna step out - one of the kids has just been discovered having used a crayon on the interior of my Lexus. All over the ceiling of my car (I don't care - sort of) .... and my spouse is livid and she's also discovered a fly got into the house. I'm trying to decide whether to take the kids and escape or just make a get away alone.

Cheers,

Oopss.... spouse definately ON THE WARPATH. Time for me TO GO!

Figures this is my 13th posting for the day - AND I'm finally caught up to where I left off last nite!

For those of you that may be interested the first 1/4 is just about over and and Ohio State is ahead 21 to 0 over NIU. :thumbsup2

A greyhound would be perfect for your truck....don't they sleep like 20 hours a day? :cloud9:

We have had two in the past - and I would be more inclined to say somewhere between 22-1/2 and 23 hours. We did have one that loved to run, wore a "track" in the backyard. Would run clockwise and then counter-clockwise to unwind. Then it was a 3 or 4 hour nap! They really are sweet dogs.

Well...

... I couldn't just stop on my "lucky" 13th post of the day... in spite of the lingering in the shadow of my fuming spouse. It's not even MY fault they drew on the cars' ceiling. When I'm driving I am LOOKING at the road (as I should) and my rear view mirror does not quite cover the areas directly above them. Oh, and she's upset I left all the damp swimsuits from yesterdays' swimming in the trunk. I thought... so what? It's a nice warm day and they'll dry there.. right? OK... maybe NOT! And then there's that darn FLY that snuk in (behind me?) that's driving her nuts. Er, rather it's the SPOUSE (me?) driving her nuts. So if she wanders by anytime soon then I'll HAVE to make a hasty escape.

SO - for the taboo breaking 14th posting I wanted to call all LURKING DIS enthusiasts to please step forward....!!!!

Warning... MATH ALERT in Progress!

We need to mobilize and organize to achieve 20,000 before embarkation. How many of you knew we made it from 10,000 to 15,000 in 17 days without really TRYING? How many of you (yes I might mean YOU) contributed more then 20 posts in the past 19 or 20 day?. That's only ONE a DAY! Why, just yesterday I counted my contributions and got up to 72. So why can't we get a dozen or two from you? They don't have to be wind-bag dissertations like some (OK ~ most) of mine.

So... please step out of the "lurking shadows" and post a cautious remark. We don't bite... or rather, most of us do not bite HARD. We got just about 2 weeks and it's a fine time to get to know one another a little more. And in so doing we'll easily pull off 5,000 more postings in under 17 days with YOUR HELP - because to get to 20,000 we have have (deliberate dramtic stutter) to do it in 14. AND if enough of us get involved then we might have a crack at 25,000!

Here are the numbers <BUZZZ!> MATH ALERT!.

So... we need 4,600 in 14 days = about 328 a day. With 25 DIS enthusiasts posting 13 a day = 325 daily. And if we mobilized 35 DIS enthusiasts then we'd only need an average of 9.4 a day! I might add though that for us to be on track for 25,000 then we need 25 DIS folks to post 26 a day or.... 35 DIS folks to post 19 a day.

So the magic number to aim for is 13-19 posts a day. This is my 14th for the day and I will maintain my 19 a day pace (hopefully). This makes it POSSIBLE for us to attain 25,000. We have HOW MANY attending the PJ party? Was it 117 people? If only we had about half or one third of the folks attending the PJ party posting 13-19 a day then we might have a shot of achieving thelofty (and might I add - pointless) sum of 25,000 postings to the thread.

Please support YOUR community and post now - post frequently - and try to post politely on topic (or something suitably silly or NEAR a topic from the last 500 contributions!). Ask not what your DIS community can do for YOU - rather what YOU can do for your DIS community (here).

ALEX!!!!! Did they change the beds??? Any new bath products??? Check in please!!
:rotfl:

Sorry I took so long to post, been reading the 50 pages I missed in a day and a half. We did have new bath products, but didn't know if it was because we were in a cat 3 room or if everyone had them. Didn't notice new beds, but by the time we returned to the room at night we were exausted and crashed for the night. Alex

OK... I'll drift to the side - and out of the house. More out of fear for my skin then anything else.

Cheers!

(See how easy it is to post something? - Now I have to go find a nice quiet place to cower for a few hours - excuse me)

I am working today, and they keep interupting my reading the DISboards. I worked 62 hours last week, 68 hours this week. Have to get ahead for the 21 days of cruising with all the excursions and gratuities! At least the wine is all paid for. Alex

Quick, have CC's wife check his temperature. He must be sick. No posting for a few hours. Is that possible? Will he start to break out in a sweat from posting-withdrawal syndrom? Alex
