Good Sunday Afternoon All,

"It is with deep regret that I must cancel our cruise. :guilty: As some of you already know on Friday the 14th due to yet another reduction in force I lost my job. After 17 1/2 years with MCI (bought out and bankrupt by WorldCom, recovered and bought out by Verizon) I have learned there is no such thing as job security. :confused3"

Susan

Positive Optimistic Idea:
What??? Cancel the cruise - No way! Not now, now is the best time to go. Just get the resume updated and start getting it out there, on-line, companies you really want to work for, all of those connections, etc. etc. And, keep sending it out up until two days before you leave on the cruise. Then, relax, enjoy the cruise. When you come back...there will be a special job waiting for you, just waiting for your interview (that pays double). Or better yet, the interview will come next month and then you will be hired before you even go on the cruise.... :goodvibes

I was downsized in 1999 and guess what - I went on a European cruise. Why? Well, it was stretching it, but I hardly ever had time to take the cruises when I was working. Too busy. So, I did just that, sent out the resumes and when I returned I had a job waiting just for me.

But, seriously, I am truly sorry that this turn of events has happened to you. And, I am glad that you are being positive that yes, there will be something better to come along and this was just meant to happen. If you don't make it on board I will miss meeting you and look forward to hopefully seeing you on a future cruise. :)

Oops! Sorry, for the duplicate. When I went to post it said, "Server is busy, try again later" So, that is what I did. But, I guess it posted it anyway!!!!

So, I just deleted it off. I couldn't find a way to delete out the post!

You know, this got me wondering,
Leslie, are there any WalMarts in the caribbean? Do they have any listed in your frequent shopper manual? :rotfl2:

Hello, everyone! Good afternoon!

Hey, I have a wagon just like that in my garage! You want me to bring it along??? Let's see, I'll put a carry on in it with some Rosa Regale and Tosti champagne and my very own Disney bubba mug - it'll be a party!! I wonder if I could make a grass skirt for the wagon???? Hummm? :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Of course, I'll have a strawberry Margarita in that Bubba mug while eating my Cheeseburger in Paridise!! :smokin: I love Jimmy Buffett!

Boy am I ready for a vacation!!! :goodvibes

Does anybody know if Eli's has any opening?

As far as I know, not yet. We are on the wait list but I seriously doubt anyone here is going to cancel.

The only other option is the Extreme Tour. I think there are some here that are going and we're considering it but I'm not sure if it will be too much for our 2.5 yr old. She is used to being on boats but I just don't know.

Has anyone here done this particular trip or does anyone know of any other excursions that even come close to the Eco-Tour?

Tks!

Just wanted to ask if anyone here is bringing any older teens along on this cruise? Hoping that there are at least a few so that our 17 yr old son has someone to hang out with.

DId you check the roster? It might suggest what our DIS group consists of - but even in the absence of approachable teens within the DIS group - there is almost certainly going to be a few dozen teens aboard. I see them roaming about after hours when I've been carrying a sleepless toddler who is still on west coast time!

We are doing the Extreme, though are also on the waitlist for the regular if it opens up.

Successful lunch hour - I am now the proud owner of a Bubba Keg although it was not on sale but only $8.00 so that was OK. I will have to figure out how to decorate it so that no one walks away with it. It would only take one keg full to get me so that I would be absent-minded enough to forget it somewhere - providing I could still walk that is!

Today I think it is hotter here than IN Africa (not really, I looked) - our heat index is 104 but I expect that will rise through the afternoon. Humidity is 49% - guess that is better than the 79% it was when I came to work this morning.

I wonder if I could make a grass skirt for the wagon???? Hummm?

Now we are talking, a traveling Tiki Bar, now that is KEWL!!!!!

I have an Oriental Trading catalog that has natural raffia fringe (24 feet by 12") or some silk fringe. :rotfl:

Oh you would have to add a stuffed parrot or two, and some nylon flowers, now we are talking Tiki chic!!

Leslie...it was a late night....and in all my excitement of FINALLY having a Pirate Name I forgot to spell check.....thanks for pointing it out....it's all corrected now.

Maybe for now you should just go by Tattooed Dorrie.
After a week with Leslie you then could change your name to Corrupted Tattooed Dorrie. :lmao:

Which island was this going to be on? We have 2.75 and 5 year old girls - and we were interested in toddler friendly tours and excursions too! :confused3 Please count us as curious as potential participants!
