Captaincrash, I think you were trying to post pictures of the doors for me, but all I get is the red x's :confused3 Anyway for me to make them into pictures??
Vickie

Yes - I posted front and back of the doors. Sorry it's not up now... give it time... :confused3

They show up for me? And other folks have commented that they were unable to see the pix sometimes. I told them same as I'll say here - that the host is sometimes overloaded - and at some point - later tonight or another day (yeah - like that will help) it will be viewable. Other folks confirmed that fo0r them they were able to view the postings at a later time.... :woohoo:

I guess I really ought to switch image hosts. Now there's another thing I have to mess with... IF I ever get 'round to it.

Sure! :rotfl2: :sad2:

BTW, how as Paula's place. We thought it was wonderful. Will definitely go back when we get the chance.
Very funny, I don't drop the F bomb, especially not on this board! It is pretty funny that I can't even post the name of a good cheap wine without getting edited. I guess they would edit me for posting my other cheap wine love Fat *******.
Lady and Sons was a bust. We went, stood around for about 20 minutes in the blistering heat with all of the 523 other people wanting in and just decided that we would have to try it some other time LIKE WINTERTIME! It was almost too hot in Savannah for antique shopping but we did it anyway. We ate at the River House Inn and Casbah- both of which I highly recommend for anyone wanting good food in Savannah. I love Paula Deen and all but she needs a better system - LIKE RESERVATIONS! I really loved Savannah as it was my 1st trip there. Everyone was so laid back and friendly, and the brats loved it! :woohoo:

Oh my gosh, I have a whole big ol' plastic container FULL of 8 track tapes, vinyl albums, cassett tapes, as well as a stack of 45's. And still have the system that plays them all. :lmao: Does that make me a member of the "pack rat" society too?? My daughter tells me it just makes me old. :sad2:

IMonso,
Regarding underwater cameras, we went with the Olympus 5050 because it was one we could get a housing for. We went with a Light and Motion Tetra, it is one of those really expensive metal housings. I do not think Light and Motion is making housings for other than SLR's and Video camera's any more. If I had it to do again, I would go with one of the less expensive plastic housings, I'm sure they would hold up fine, and being less expensive, you do not have the feeling that once you buy one, you are locked into that model forever! Sea and Sea does make underwater housings, you might see if they make one for your camera. Again, if I were chosing again, I would find the digital camera with the largest viewing screen. My main problem is that I cannot see what I have taken a picture of, so I cannot do corrections under water. Also, go with the highest megapixel possible, and the fastest shutter lag.

For those not interested in such serious underwater cameras, I don't know as much about the cheaper models, but newer and cheaper models are coming out every day. I have fallen way behind on my Scuba magazine reading, but you might try scubadiving.com (scuba diving magazine) and see if they have done any camera articles lately.

Lynn
:eeyore:

Lynn, thanks for the info. My model of Olympus has a larger screen, 3" and the case seems to be the plastic type although @ $299 list for the cover (I've found it for $199 so far on eBay) it doesn't sound that *cheap* to me but what do I know. Curious what others are using....

Good Sunday Afternoon All,

It is with deep regret that I must cancel our cruise. :guilty: As some of you already know on Friday the 14th due to yet another reduction in force I lost my job. After 17 1/2 years with MCI (bought out and bankrupt by WorldCom, recovered and bought out by Verizon) I have learned there is no such thing as job security. :confused3

While I firmly believe this is going to be for the positive and good things are going to come of this , it is still a shock. Although I did get an OK package, I feel it best not to be spending money on a cruise at this time.

Sorry to hear about your job situation, I went through something similar about 3.5 years ago. We struggled through for about 2 years and now things have turned around. I only mention this because we were in a similar situation with something we were going to do which we cancelled and regretted it ever since. It really wouldn;t have impacted us as much as we thought it would and would have enjoyed it tremendously. Just remember our time here is really short and we really should make the most of every opportunity we have. We almost did the same thing on this cruise, having almost cancelled at the last minute but I thought otherwise and realized that the time we would share with our kids on this amazing trip far outweighed the cost, what the hell its only money right?

Right now you might feel as we did but just consider for a moment if you did do it how much it would take your mind off things and allow you to get away from your current situation. Allow you to get away, recharge your batteries and open your horizons. Who knows, maybe you decide to become a tour operator on one of our ports of call...lol. Anyway its just a suggestion to not quickly react to the trauma that has occured in your life and just keep your options open, whatever you decide, God bless to you and your family, we all wish you nothing but the best.

Hello everyone and welcome to all those who are just joining this group :welcome: Haven't been posting much lately been super busy, lucky to have been able to keep up with the reading of all of the posts.
Been meanin' to mention to everyone that I have a Costco near me and have a membership there, so if anyone wants me to pick them up some of that wine that you have been talking about, I would be happy to do that for you, just let me know.
We had a huge storm come through here today, lots of hail, and rain. Tree limbs down all over the place. It did cool it off a bit though, went and picked blueberries after it was all over.
I have a couple of questions for those of you who have been on the longer cruises, I know that we are going to eat in each restaurant a couple of times on this cruise, do they change the menus each time, or do they stay the same??Anyone know when they finally give you room numbers if you have a GTY?? Do they ever do it before 30 days out?? Also need to know if anyone has a picture of the stateroom doors, both inside and out, that you can post for me to look at.
I am making a Walmart run tomorrow nite, so I will check for the Bubba mugs and if they have some I will pick up a couple of extras in case anyone needs one, and can't find them. As for the blinkie flip flops, I have been looking for a pair since I first read about them, I've not seen them anywhere!! :sad2: I so wanted a pair! I love the light up shoes, my hubby thinks I'm  but if they made them in my size, I would be wearin' em. :lmao:
Have a great week everyone, and don't forget to sign up for the secret Mickeys!! :wave2:
Vickie

We went to the local Wal-Mart in search of the Bubba Muga, alas I'm afraid we struck out...arrrrrrrrrr. Oh what is the pirate clan from cucamonga to do without a bubba mug to fill with rum...sigh...

if anyone out there comes across a few (3 would be great!) please let me know, i'd be happy to paypal the money to you for costs, shipping and your trouble.

NAww.... you're NOT an old PACK RAT until you find a tub of yogurt in your fridge that exired back in 1999! That was 3 days ago! Hmpf!!!!

And just because I was curious and looking for something else.... check this out if you think you're a pack rat!

NOt that I agree... but I always thought my spouse (the pack rat) had something a little unstable about her... especially since she agreed to marry ME! :confused3 Everything changed with us when we were gonna kiss and we bonked heads together..... whoops + BONK .... and instantly two Pack rats might have been created~! I never knew "love" might involve such hazards!

We have good digital cameras but for the under water shots we go to Wal-Mart and get the Fuji underwater 35mm cameras. :beach: We have used these before and get great pics and the developing cost is no where near the $200 to $300 cost for a case. :jumping1:

When I was on the cruise in May I was doing a paper on Morbidity & Mortality in Alaska....the fun keeps coming. My classes for September will either be Behavioral health or Advance Physical assessment- so I can either psycho analyze you :bitelip: or do your prostate exam :scared1: ??? Any volunteers? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

If that is the Olympus housing they are good, see if you can get an extra O-ring.

Cheap is relative, compared to what you can pay for a housing. Our big dog housing flooded on our last Feb trip, digital cameras and salt water are bad mix. I did have a flood of a Reefmaster, in a swimming pool, dried it out and all was well.

Being a diet fan here.....I'm pretty sure the only diet offering Deck 9 beverage station has is Diet Coke....everything else is regular. In March (on the Magic) they also had pink lemonade and Hi C fruit punch - not diet just non carbonated.

Leslie...this Bubba Keg has me worried...I think I better start lifting weights to build those arm muscles for carrying this thing!!!!! Not to worry about Mickey stickers etc...to distinguish our "kegs"....I found my stash of Mickey straws...I packed 2 in different colors!!!!!

Okay, Okay... Jolly Joe pirate: + Galley Annie pirate: can't come on this fine gathering... BUT we wish all you mateys well. AARRGGHHHHH!!!

Now we want some Bubba Kegs too!!! :rotfl2: Looks like I'd better get out to our Walmart to support Scott's stock holdings ;)

Hey Leslie... If I can't find any in NJ I may give you a call!!!
