September 17, 2006 - 11 Night Southern Caribbean Part 2

Actually I 80 is strangely not windy at all today. Skynard used to play a little bar on the coast of Alabama called the Pink Pony, but I think it got trashed by one of the hurricanes. I am FIERCELY loyal to my home state, I love it! Sometimes if we have been gone for a long time, as we pass the state line sign I sing "My home's in alabama" to the top of my lungs and cry. We live in a small town where everybody knows everybody and everyone is generally friendly. Men still hold doors open and say "Ma'am". Have you ever met Harrison Ford? I hear he has a place in Jackson Hole as well. How cool would that be? My dh is from Idaho and used to sell hummers. He has met AH-Nold and Jamie Lee Curtis in Hailey.

Is anyone doing the Eco Tour on CC? I think we are signed up for 10:30. Would be nice to know some fellow Disers going on this with us. We have never done it before but are really looking forward to it. Plus I want to get an up close of the flying dutchman, gonna have to bring the water camera for that.

For all the Past Disney Cruiser's which we are not, do you all tend to think there will be alot less kids on this sailing since school will have just started and this is a longer cruise then normal. Meaning most kids would probabaly miss 2 weeks of school to take this cruise.

Just wondered out of 2400 passengers how many children onboard should we expect?

We think there will be a lot less kids on this cruise. Like Scott said, you hardly notice the kids on the disney cruises. Disney keeps the kids pretty busy and the adult only areas are great.

“PIT” I always wonder if Neal Young ever remembered “that southern man don’t need him around”. I am proud to say I still say ma’am and hold doors for ladies, and take my hat off inside and during the National Anthem, and put my hand over my heart as our flag passes. These are traditions we should never loose.

Hailey, ID, is in a nice part of ID. I have seen Harrison Ford a few times, he has a fantastic wood working shop, Lynn has talked to him a couple of times. We have our share of well-known folks here in Jackson, heck even the VP.

It will be interesting to see how many passengers will be onboard.

Today we hope to catch the 1:00 matinee of POC.

Time to watch the "Tour".

Finally got MY passport in yesterday's mail. Husband's and son's arrived earlier last week. I forwarned my husband and son that if I can't go, then NOBODY goes on this cruise. We're all happy now.

Gotta get that fish extender started today.

We actually do have room in the van...if we had enough people we could get a large bus and have our own Mickey Bus...LOL. So far there is my group 6 adults and 3 kids. Depending on how many people went with us- it could be pretty cheap. I was waiting to see how many people were interested before finalizing the bus. After getting back to WDW we are going to take ME back to the airport- because it is free and Noah likes watching the video going back.

Jimbo, I think there will definately be less that a summer or school break time cruise. The May repo did not have a whole lot of kids and they opened up the Oceaners Club to us big kids one night. We don't have kids and I really don't notice them much on DCL as the adult areas work for us.

I have a feeling this cruise will have a pretty light passenger load. Just my thoughts.

I think you are right Scott. We have now gotten direct mailings, and a couple of emails from DCL hyping the 11 night. It feels like they are getting desperate to fill the ship.

As for Kid Kount, the proportions of Dis kids to Dis 'bigger' kids for this trip is pretty comparable to the May PC Repo. So, I would bet we are in the 300-500 range again this time.

We've done the Eco tour twice, and there is a good change I'll do it again this trip, but I tend to prefer doing it in the afternoon. But, if Adrienne is off snorkling, I may do it while she is having fun.

Going to see POC2 at the motion picture house matinee, must be getting old, going to the discount showings, now for the early bird special at McD’s (you know that fin Scottish Restaurant). I hope Lynn will let me get a Happy Meal on the way home.

I just went onto Weather(dot)com, and looks like the weather is still pretty nice at the end of Sept. I used to live in St. Croix, but it has been so many years, that I have forgotten. Lets start praying now for NO HURRICANES!

Went to Mc D and got two Happy Meals, got the Skull and the baby bandanna, it would not even fit the little Malamutes head, but KEWL.

As I sit here on a scorchin hot day in Reno enjoying my Oreo Blizzard from Dairy Queen, it occured to me- I'm leaving for this cruise in roughly 2 months and I am SUPPOSED to be on a diet!!! Anyone else battling the bulge for this cruise? I need to get my chunky behind in gear!! Or else I'll be wearing a mu-mu for formal night. Just wondering if I'm alone here....

We just got back from POC2 also. I thought it was great. And I second the recommendation to sit through all 4 thousand names in the final credits.
