Michael and I are thinking of doing a day sail snorkel trip while we are in St. Thomas/St. John. There are three operators I have researched. All are aboard sailboats and feature lunch/drinks and stopping at a couple of locations for snorkeling. Is anyone interested in joining us? Each boat holds six passengers. All were highly recommended on Cruise Critic boards.
I have contacted each of the captains and am waiting to hear back.

Here are the links to each of them:

We were looking at doing this but most of the cruises left around 9 or 10 and don't get back until 4. The Wonder leaves at 4:00 :(

BTW, High Pockets will not be in St. Thomas in September. I had contacted them and she said they will be either north or south, but not near the hurricanes.

I was planning on requesting an earlier pick-up at the dock, say 8:00 so we could have a full day and be back to the ship in time.

Good evening everyone,

First - we are paid in full!! :cool1:

Now we are nervous about not having trip insurance. Tried to add when we paid today, but were told we couldn't because we decline initially. Any suggestions???

We have been looking at the excursions and pretty much all of them are for at least 5 years old and up. We have a 4 year old, so this kind of eliminates alot. Also, our friends we are traveling with have a 3 and 1 year old. Not looking good. Might just have to take taxi's to the local beaches and shops. Not horrible, but there were a few excursions that sounded fun.

DPD, where have you been? Change your minds about this cruise?
Saw something about Bridezillas in the USAToday.

Horse? Guess I don't remember that. :teeth:

Unfortunately , Joe just can't go anywhere in September.:teacher: Beginning of the semester and all. :bride: Bridezilla has been keeping me pretty busy. Finally got the place picked out and the deposit made :scared1: (OUCH!) Now I am working on announcements and "save the date" magnets that she feels she has to have. Joe and I eloped (THANK GOD!) so we never had any of this "stuff" she finds so necessary! If I am still sane by the wedding day it will be a miracle!

Went today and got the preop stuff out of the way. They changed my time to arrive at the hospital. It was 8 am, now it is 5:45am. Surgery originally schedule for 9:30am, is now 7:30am. Overnight stay and should be home Saturday night.

So looking forward to this cruise. Mike

Wife and I met on July 8th of 72, married on September1, 72 in the local courthouse by Justice of the Peace. If we live to September, it will be 34 years. Never had a fancy wedding. Life is too short to stress. Mike

Thank you, Tracy, for the newsletter. What a ton of work that must be for you! It has explained alot, but I'm still trying to get up to speed. Just a few questions, for now...
1) just what is a "fish extender" and what am I supposed to do with it once I find one?
2) are the grass skirts just for the guys. Frankly, I think their cute and go marvelously with the cruise t-shirts. DS and husband say no way they're wearing them. I say, if you don't wear them, I'll find another 9 year old kid and perhaps a girlfriend who would love to go on a Disney cruise if all they have to do is wear a grass skirt!!!

Please advise.

Thanks, Sandy

Mike, our thoughts will be with ya, been there done that on the Doc’s floating schedules.

If I am still sane by the wedding day it will be a miracle!

DPD Leslie, some of us know you. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Lynn and I were married at the base of the Tetons in an open field. Had a keg and pot luck diner afterwards. If you can talk them to coming to Wyoming I would do the marriage part for free.

Here is an idea, Joe could just leave a pile of videos for the students to watch until he got back.

Sandy, feel free to join the grass skirt fraternity, They will be sorry they missed out. So what if there are about 2,500 people on the ship that will see ya. So as they say on the Jungle Cruise, wave to the people on the dock because you will never see them again. But you will see some of your fellow DIS cruisers and they will have worn a grass skirt. :teeth:

Gouodux Leslie, as Peter posted there are other travel insurance companies out there.

good morning everyone:

our cruise this week on the MAGIC has surely been MAGICal.

One day was overcast with some rain in St. Martens but the rest was beautiful.

We have Brunch set up for Palo's at 10:30 with 11 in one group and 6 in another and 4 in another. We have done Brunch a couple of time, but no dinner at Palo's. I prefer Brunch over dinner.

Today is Seafood day - Lobster for dinner - I anxiously await this day onboard.

Hope everyone is doing fine

PAPA (Mike) good luck on your surgery - prayers and pixie dust to you.

The Internet Cafe on Deck 3 is something to be desired. Only 3 of the computers are now working - At $89 for the week, some people are not happy !!!!!!!! :rolleyes1

Sandy,

If you are looking for some good explanations as to what a fish extender is you can go to Page 1 where Peter (Hygiene99) has put together a great post for all the newbies. :cool1: Also, since you get the newsletter, check out February's on pages 3 and 4 for a great explanation as to how they came to be and how they came to be named. :rolleyes1 April's newsletter has an article on and pictures of the ones that my DH and I are making and June's newsletter has an article on the contest. :sunny: Hope this helps with the fish extender questions.

As far as the grass skirt fraternity, tell you DH and DS that they will not be the only ones. Several of us wives have talked our husbands into being a part of it so they will definately not be alone. Besides, the Lanyard People are out to make a name for themselves. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Papa, Doug and I send you lots of prayers and pixiedust: for your surgery. Hope it goes as well as mine did. The early morning is a bummber but just think, you will be taking a nap, it is your DW that will be exhausted.

Carol

Just found out we will not be the only ship in port in St. Thomas. We wil be in competition with the Mariner of the Seas. :sad2: Bummer!!!! In fact she sails out the same day as us as does the Sensation.

In Antigua, St. Lucia and Barbados we will be the only ship in port. I could not find anything on St. Kitts.

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:We paid in full this morning! :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

So, now all the fun planning begins.

I know it has been said before, but please make sure you are on the roster!!! http://www.disneyinvitations.com/11night

Adrienne and I are teaming with Kpros, Spros, for a fantastic sailaway gift - it will be delivered to your stateroom, but only if you are on the roster. So be sure to email or PM me to get on the list. And list everyone in your party - that way we know how many to deliver!!!

A few people have written, asking about the scavenger hunt that is planned. Final day remains to be determined, but it will likely be one of the two sea days heading for Castaway Cay. Formally called 'MouseAdventure on the High Seas II: Curse of the Mickey Bar" this will be the second DCL edition of the famous MouseAdventure game that we put on twice a year. The first was done during the 14-night Westbound Repositioning Cruise. The creative team behind it will be Adrienne (AVP, and my wife), Steve (Corwin17 - husband of Kitster), and myself.

Much less grueling than the full game (just ask Spros and Seaulater!), this version will send you all over the Wonder, looking for the unnoticed, obscure, and downright bizzare - in the hopes of finding solutions to a variety of puzzles and challenges. Imagine a small version of the Amazing Race. So, get your comfortable shoes ready, your 'Sherlock Holmes' hat and pipe (or bubble pipe, as appropriate) and get ready for an Adventure. Oh, and don't forget that there will be prizes.

Vicki (Kitster), just thought we would let you know that your fish extender went in the mail today so you can be looking for it.

Fish Extender from the 14 day westbound canal cruise. It hangs from the fish.

Well, maybe these two guys aren't a good example. It's all in good fun!

I think we are a rather good example, well of the people our parents warned us about....
