Perhaps I am.
I'm going to go practice my received pronunciation now.
Please do.

4. Macrame
(well, perhaps not macrame)
Hmmm......are we getting macrame in our fish extenders then?![]()
All this talk about British grocery stores is making me miss them.....I lived in Edinburgh for three years and do you know what I miss the most?
Fried egg penny sweets.
Seriously.
How can you have pumpkin seeds and not have pumpkins?
Marilyn ... do I have to have that chat with you about the birds and the bees and the pumpkins?
Maybe it's a regional thing, Marilyn as we have 'em down sarf!![]()

When I'm back from WDW, I shall be getting a couple to carve out and put in the window with tealights and my DD always makes a delish pumpkin pie...

(Marilyn's going to hate me, by the time I leave to lead my WW meetings this morning)
(By the way, Marilyn will confirm that I verge on being insane and bizarre)
There are 4 things that you will find I am an expert about:
1. Edwardian England
2. England
3. Catholicism

KAZ, have a wonderful vacation! Give Monica a hug for me when you meet her...
Do all of us North American have to start sending Marilyn pumpkins?
Sort of a Pumpkins for Britain campaign?
I've only eatten Pumpkin seeds.. Dry Roasted & Salted.. Yummy..![]()
No pumpkin pie (I know, it's an American thing), no pumpkin soup?
Actually, I'm not really a pumpkin pie fan, but those spice muffins..
BTW, I didn't have one. :.

Please do.Then you can tutor us on the cruise - I speak a rather strangled dialect known as "Cockmey" the result of growing up in Birmingham and moving to the South East at age 22...

Well, because of when Becky will go back to Uni (all being well) we will probably go for a week or so beforehand and maybe a couple days after. So the flights are thereMark's going to phone tomorrow and check as it seems we may have enough airmiles for a couple of flights if we just buy a few more miles!
That would be great and mean we could book the flights next weekend!
That means we would almost definately be going
(see my cunning plan)

A woman after my own heart!!!![]()

We will definitely be going for a few days before - I think Ian and Sukie are there too so we will be having a meet!!!Plus Monica of course - she is always there lucky thing.

Maybe I'll have to give her one as a "welcome back" present when I see her next month![]()
It's a little known fact that the British consider receiving a pumpkin a sign of good hospitality (forget about pineapples).
Most British people feel a certain loss if they can't travel home from a holiday abroad with a pumpkin. The larger and heavier the better.
They may say otherwise, but that is just British politeness.
The British often exchange pumpkins on the Queen's birthday. And, little British children, leave their shoes outside the front door on Christmas Eve, because Father Christmas will leave a pumpkin in the shoes of good little girls and boys.

Had fun today checking out flights and hotel prices for next September![]()
How did you get on? We are staying for 2-3 weeks after the cruise(s) so waiting for VA flights to come available in November. Hopefully the prices will be better than the VH ones already on sale.
OMG I'm already booked up!![]()
I'm just so flippin' anal about flights
- last year we booked with DCL for the whole family to cruise New Year 2008 then had to cancel as I couldn't arrange sensible flights for the 7 of us...
