September 12, 2009 ~ Last Call for Tortola! Thread 3

DH read on SW's website that families with children 4 and under get to board between goup A and B. I sure hope so 'cause we have (3) 4 and under and need to sit together!

I know what you mean. We have seatbelt that goes around the plane seat for DS (that's Disney or Dear Son for DammitJim) that we use(like a carseat but for older kids) as I am uncomfortable with him in the regular seatbelt. So we need a little extra time to get that installed. We may rethink the fee though on the way down as we are traveling with another family and would like to sit together. Oh well.

Ian, did you pay the earlybird fee in Chicago? If so when did you book it and what boarding # did you get? Hope you guys get some sunny days!

1week 'til FishLips!

I got all my projects done! :cool1: the swimsuit wraps came out great, mine is brown Mickey ears on a black wrap, DD's is green Mickey ears on a blue wrap, and DN's is light pink Mickey ears on fuscia wrap. I don't know why the bleach pen turned the Mickey Ears those colors but it did. You'll see them by the pool, I may even wear it as a shawl to dinner some night. Got all my tags on my FE gifts, they turned out well too. I had bought just enough FE gifts that with the late add ons I don't have anymore extras - perfect! All I have left is to put the kids goodies in a bag and gotta check into shipping it ahead of time. And I need to pack. Lots of things still to do! I sure am glad this is a long weekend!

You know your trip is coming soon when you get an email from the airline saying

Suppose I better finish packing then!

When are you flying out? Are you flying SW?

I really hope the take the "we don't charge any fees" bit out of their advertising! I used to not even check other airlines because even if their basic rate was cheaper, when you added on the fees, SW was always cheaper. I liked the no hassle approach about them. Now I will be shopping around again to find the lowest price. I really hate that they've added a fee. And while some might say that I don't hav to pay it, then I risk my family being split up. I liked it better before when everyboddy had the same chance (with no fee!) at the 24 hr window. SW does not have my customer loyalty nor my admiration fo not buckling under the fee pressure from other airlines anymore. (Rant over:})

everybody get packing! We're going cruisin'!:cloud9:

Our flight leaves at 8:00am so at this time tomorrow we'll be at WDW. :) Yeah!!

Hope you are all having a great day. :flower3:

Ahh, here you are!...

Beauty salons. Salon and spa tipping should generally be the same as restaurant tipping -- 15 to 20 percent. However, if you go to a high-end salon where there is a separate shampooist, it is customary to tip the shampooist a few dollars as well. If several people assist you at the salon or spa, you should leave a separate tip for each person (the stylist, the masseuse, the manicurist, etc.).
That's the rule I always follow!
Au reservoir all. Next stop WDW.

(Still can't believe we were up before 3:30 a.m.)
Doesn't surprise me you were up earlier!!!! I bet Jackie was too!
:lovestruc HAPPY ANNIVERSARY IAN & SUKIE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cake:

 :dance3: :yay: :woohoo: :cheer2: :dance3: :flower3:
Yeah, What SHE said!!!!

From the 2 times I've been on the Magic, I have never seeing anyone checking each child. Give your son a mohawk and he should be good to go! I am sure the height requirement is just a ball park number.

Ok, so... how much info do I need to give? I know you guys give specific codes to your family members, but I'll be plain.
My wife Lori (34), daughter Caitlyn (4), son Michael (2), daughter Claire (1) and myself (33) are going to spoil all your fun aboard the cruise ship! My kids are going to totally destroy everything in their path... they are worse than a hurricane!!! So, if you see a 2 adults chasing 3 kids, please stop to help us! :)
We are going with another great family of 5 who have children of the same age.
I am an engineer in Lake Mary and my wife stays home to care for the little ones and the mess I make when I get home from work.
This will be our 3rd Disney cruise. We went in 2003 to the Eastern with St. Marteen and St. Thomas, then in 2005 to the Western. Every time, we have gone with the family that is coming with us and every time, we have had one more child each :)

To all of you who are coming to Orlando early, I hope you have a good trip and stay. If you need something, WDW is a 45 min ride.

PS: Oh, we are on deck 5... don't remember the number, but they are the inside cabins that are sideways.
WELCOME! So glad you are joining this wacky and crazy group of folks!

Sounds great Linda - can't wait to see them!

Good for you - Im so excited I could just jump out of my skin... am I going to be the ONLY one online next week waiting for my flight on Thursday???? Sniff sniff

Can't wait - I'm so excited!!!:woohoo::yay::dance3::banana::cool1:

I just ordered gift baskets from Shirley for my boys(sharing one) and nephew! We got sand buckets, sand toys, and other misc. toys and activities. They're even going to pick up some popcorn for my kids to take to a movie. (We opted out of having other snacks in there.) The lady on the phone was very helpful! I'm sure they'll turn out great! Man, my kids are spoiled! But it's so much fun! ;) And now I don't have to worry about packing sand toys or things to keep them busy in the room.

I printed out our cruise documents today too. I really need to start packing though! :rolleyes1

Our flight is 6.20am tomorrow :scared1: with American Airlines (we get miles for them). Thankfully DH is a gold member and we don't have to pay any fees for checked bag.

I personally never liked the SW 'free for all' boarding. With kids, I like to know that we are seated together and in a way that we can keep our kids occupied for a flight. Does Frontier fly from your way? We flew them one time and the price was good.

I'll be here too! We don't fly out until Fri morning. Besides, you "that intrepid band of advanced travelers" will be checking in while at WDW!

We too are not leaving until Thursday night - still have a couple of days at work:mad:

The wave that came off the coast of Africa yesterday looks like it might be forming into something. Anyone know anything about weather enough to know how long it will take before we know if it is a problem or not? Just wondering.

Everyone have a great holiday weekend.

:thumbsup2Great, got it noted. I'm jealous. I love deck 2!

dr&mom, I ordered from Shirley as well. My hubbie loves Pepsi and of course Disney doesn't have it anywhere on the property so I am surprising him with Pepsi and a few other things.

Kay, I'm not found of the SW boarding free for all either. We choose to pay more so we are insured that we sit together. Four flights can be long if you don't know the person next to you. Plus with Frontier we have TV and non stop which is HUGE to me. Now our kids LOVE SW. To each his own I guess.

If I'm reading my Hurricane tracking software discussion correctly, a 30-50% chance of becing a "tropical system" in the next 48 hours. But they also say the Saharan dust is limiting convection (which I believe is good). So....who knows??? I would think this would be the only one we need to keep an eye on since nothing else appears to be going on and my guess is the next wave wouldn't afffect us once it forms.

Safe travels for everyone lucky enough to start their vacay early. We're not flying out till early next Friday morning.

The Saharan dust convection???? What the ???

Well Jackie & Cheri would have been picked up by Monica by now and they are most likely heading to get the cake they ordered as a surprise for Ian / Sukie's Anniversary tonight... I think they have reservations at 7 which is like 20 minutes!
