Welcome! We're all going to do a LOT of celebrating on this cruise!

I made it a little easier this time. I've got Palo on formal night and we'll have semi formal night, so that's only two dresses I have to bring instead on three separate ones if we had done Palo on another night.

We chose to book Palo dinner for the family on sem-formal night just to cut back on the need for another dress up ensemble. Need to plan a 'meet-up' spot with everone that evening to see how lovely we all look! OH...isn't that chocolate fountain dessert buffet night?

I love to dress up but this time I don't want to be on schedule. You know, make sure we are out of the pool by such and such a time so I can shower, dry and style my hair , run for the pictures before my hair frizzes out like Monica on Friends and then get to dinner on time. I am thinking that we will either be eating at Topsiders for dinner a few times or room service. We're not even doing Palo for brunch or dinner. Oh it's sounding better and better!

The luggage we're bringing is also eBags brand, their Motherlode rolling duffles. I bought one piece to use on our Panama Canal cruise and it was so great, we now have a set. We'll be taking the large rolling duffle (29") and the Motherlode Junior (25"). We have the eTech line. The little duffle is staying at home, we'll be taking a garment bag for the tuxes.

I've been really impressed by the quality of eBag's own label merchandise.

Next time I'm shopping for new luggage, I want to look for the rolling duffles. I don't need new luggage right now though, I took two pieces back since they were falling apart after 5 yrs, but had a 10 year warranty, and they have replaced both pieces I'm so glad I had kept my receipts...and was able to find them!

I think I've decided on the Canon D10 waterproof for this cruise. I went and looked at a few cameras today, and will probably stop in to purchase one after work tomorrow.

I think that is the one my DD just got. It is great! We have the Olympus Stylus 770 and love it. Our other daughter has the newer version of ours.

DH just asked me if I really wanted to go on this cruise.. Apparently he is not real happy or excited like he use to get for our cruises.. I told him to be honest Yes and No myself and I explained why.. I am guessing he is thinking of our son and realizing unfortunately we will never be able to cruise with our son again.. Part of the reason for my yes and no.. I am not sure how we will be or how this will effect us.. It is the first time he said anything to me about not wanting to go..

Please send a little Pixie Dust this way for my DH to raise his spirits up

I told him to be honest Yes and No myself and I explained why.. I am guessing he is thinking of our son and realizing unfortunately we will never be able to cruise with our son again.. Part of the reason for my yes and no.. I am not sure how we will be or how this will effect us.. It is the first time he said anything to me about not wanting to go..

Oh Stace, that's so hard. Many hugs and lots of pixie dust to you and Andy to be able to keep going forward. It'll never be the same again, but it doesn't mean that it can't be good still. I hope Andy is ready to find that out.

We are going to have to get through a LOT of firsts and the more we do the more I realize (we will never do this with our son again) and it hurts, real bad, it's not like he isn't just not coming this time, it is sinking in that there will Never be a next time.. and I think Andy is figuring it out now..

I just hope he will let me help him and show him it hurts me too and he is not alone

The first year is the hardest. Every time you turn around, there's a huge part of you missing that will never physically be there again.

Even though losing a parent is nothing like losing a child, I was so pained and depressed for the whole first year after losing my mom. I did cruise, ten months later....on Mother's Day....with the PC crowd. We did a special memorial for those who had lost their mothers. It helped. Each step along the way was impossible to take, but necessary.

Give Andy some time to get used to the idea. Be there for each other. Let yourselves grieve through the pain. It's the only way it can get better.

You have to go through the process and time will definitely be your friend. Hugs help a lot too.

MUST try on my dress slacks for formal/semi formal night. They certainly should fit as I wore them on the WBPC and I'm not any heavier now than I was then...but better check, just in case stuff just 'shifted'.
