Does anyone know what the prices are on jewelry down in Tortola? My gf's birthday will be the week following the cruise and I'm hoping I'll have enough money to get her something down there.

Sorry, don't have a direct answer for you on this one. You may want to ask on the main part of the cruise boards, perhaps those that have already sailed to Tortola can answer.

I know jewelry is plenty in St Thomas, but I am not sure what the price ranges are there as we were looking for something specific on our last trip.

Perhaps someone else knows if going to the on board shopping talk is worth while? I was reviewing the April navigators, there was mention of this talk (one on Sunday and one on Monday) and both offered a free gift for attending.

I've never been to Tortola so I can't help you.. You may want to look at the trip report boards for the Tortola cruises prior to ours.. It may help

Some days we smell chocolate, but on others we get to smell roasting peanuts from the Reese's factory. Either way, it's good!

Can't help you with price ranges, but I can tell you when some folks were shopping there and thought the prices might still be too much, they just said to each other "Well, we'll just look in St Thomas tomorrow"...and the store then offered them a nicely reduced price. So don't forget that when you are shopping in Tortola.

Remember to ask Sukie about the time I had 5 martinis and then performed the chamber version of the "Sound of Music" while walking home down the middle of an avenue.

You can look in Tortola, but you might find some better deals in St. Thomas. Plus the customs regulations are a little more lax on items bought in St. Thomas as well, so you can buy more!!!!

There are plenty of jewelry stores scattered about Havensight Mall right where we dock. Definitely attend the shopping seminar on the ship or see the shopping guide at the shore excursion desk for recommendations on where to shop in the ports of call. They'll provide you with a map of all the recommended stores. Also, don't be afraid to bargain a little bit, they'll haggle on the prices.

This coming weekend is the big push around here, which is just as well since we leave for WDW on the 4th.
