September 12, 2009 ~ Last Call for Tortola! Thread 3

Yeah, it's been a long wait and a long time in between cruises. We'll really going to enjoy getting on that boat this time. Just gotta find a way to slow it down, especially since it'll be another 7 night and we've been spoiled by longer cruises.

I'd love to find a way to slow it down. I agree that the 11 & 14 night cruises spoiled me. How am I supposed to fit everything into 7 nights that I'm used to fitting into almost 2 weeks?

Ian, did you ever watch The Forsyte Saga?

It is in black and white as I was a youngster, but I believe a good piece of period drama.

I remember watching it years ago and not being able to get into it. I may give it another try now that I'm older.

Hi all sorry i missed the survey:confused3 but we would like to do SATS FE CG and Lanyards - Hope all is Well :grouphug:Prayers to Harry- we have been down that road hang in there

I can certainly add you on for Shots Around the Ship, just PM me with your name, email address and the number in your party.

It dawned on my today that we can't get into our cabins until around 3PM right? I'm going to be schlepping a hatbox around the ship with me until then.

In fact, it is getting so close to the cruise, that I may have to riffle through the closet and start dusting off the accoutrements. I have to also see what clothing fits. I think some of it from the last crusie might be too big.[/quote]

Isn't that a great feeling. I've designated the 30 day mark as try on clothes day. I have a LARGE bag of Disney t-shirts of all sizes, so I'm sure I'm covered (:lmao:) for my WDW park days and a bit of casual time on the ship. Just need to worry about the times I want to look a little more put together.

We're home from Prescott. Came back a bit earlier as neither Peg or I slept very well, so we wanted an afternoon nap in our own beds! :rotfl:
Played with Cheri on Friday and mostly just vegged and sat on the lovely little porch on Saturday. Jose brought in dinner Saturday nigtht and Peg and I discovered the "Waffle Iron" was JUST right around the corner...yum! I DID get my Mickey ears made and also reorganized and put lables on my trip folders. Cotton Cottage was a darling place and perfect for the puppies too (fenced in front yard), we ALL enjoyed hanging on the front porch.

I only suffered SLIGHT internet withdrawl! Peg....I did indulge my root beer and friend chicken addictions before signing on the DIS! :rolleyes1

.

Would it be worth putting a list on page 1 of who to contact if you want to be included in a particular activity now that the survey is finished? (Perhaps with a summary of the event and any dates/times/other details that are already confirmed)

Otherwise it will be up to the individual organizers to keep checking posts and they may miss someone.

-Kay

These have always been on page 1 post 1.

The events were listed as people suggested them.
When people volunteered or were volunteered to be coordinators that was added.
Ian's quote has become a description of the events only since the survey was erased yesterday.

:thumbsup2 Great minds think alike

Speaking of posts on page 1....Jan, I believe that you have the Emerald Beach under Tortola....it needs to be moved because it is on St. Thomas. Thanks.:thumbsup2

Good catch. Sorry for the goof.

I found the thread!

Donna: Hugs! Keeping you and Harry in our prayers.

Ian: Got your email, thanks!!

Was there a cut off for the FE?

Well, we'll be the ones with the hatbox. Now a good thing is that this is the FIRST time I won't be queuing up at Rockin' D to change any dining reservations! I wonder how I'm going to manage the line for lunch holding a hatbox?

You won't stand out in the terminal then! :rotfl:

Lunch - go to Parrot Cay then you don't have to manage the line with the hat box.

Saunter down to your stateroom and ask the stateroom host politely if you might drop the hat boxes off and promise to then depart so as to permit him/her to complete the room preparation.

Newly booked cruiser TweetyB has PMed me and is added to page 1 post 2. I have invited her to post here and to contact the coordinator to be included in Fish Extended gifting. woj68 has also asked to be included in FE. I asked him to contact the coordinator. disneylove69 please be on the lookout for their PMs.

:)

What did Jose bring you for dinner? I'm glad he didn't leave you hanging!

Next time I want to join you at the Waffle Iron--unless it's 6 a.m.!:scared1:

Where there's a will, there's a way! How bad do you want those peel and eat shrimp, hmmmm????

Dinner came from the "____________Grill" (men ) I had fried chicken with brocolli, Peg has chicken and pasta in a cream sauce, he had baked chicken and fries. It was very tasty...whish I knew where I could get more next time....:lmao:I'll ask Peg to look at the debit charge so we'll know.

Peg said "Should we call Cheri for breakfast".....told her no calls before 8:30AM! (we were back from breakfast at 8;30).

Feel much better after a nap and a good night's sleep in my own bed.

Next mission: To work some overtime in the next 8 weeks and to start adding lots of steps into my day.

John always goes to our bank in Cocoa Beach while I'm getting my mani/pedi done.

On the boat, our one indulgence is room service coffee every morning on our verandah. Even early excursion mornings. We love starting our day that way.

So we need tip money every day.
A great "honey dew" for the DH! Thanks for the idea...
Activities Status

I have completed the tallying up of the results for the planned activities and have emailed each organizer their lists. I would recommend that over the next few days, each organizer look through their lists and send an email out to folks to let them know you have it. Also post on this thread when you have done that.

Because you find me inspiring, that's why!

(Or was it that you find me perspiring?)
Thanks so much Ian for doing all this.

I think getting into smaller clothes is one of the BEST things! I too had a great nap on Sunday afternoon - after my dip in the pool (and after I unpacked)!

I ate really clean the rest of the day - because my short were tight the entire drive home - must have been salt because I woke this morning feeling "normal". Although I'm sure some damage was done - after all I drank an entire bottle of wine by MYSELF in 2 days!:scared1:

Well I'm almost finished with my door sign project - Jackie was good and did her craft project while we took the dogs to the doggy park over the weekend - I got a PM from Jackie this morning for name tag-door signs and I cut them and laminated them. I just need to place the magnets on the back now and I'm finished. A good evening project sitting watching TV!

I hope everyone is having a good MANIC MONDAY!:surfweb:
