Oh, oh, I'm excited.

:wizard:I have just won tickets to see the Counting Crows :cool1::cool1:

First thing I have won in a long time. I Keep trying for the DCL cruises, but no luck there :-(

Maybe my luck has turned. I should run out and buy a lottery ticket! :lmao: LOL!

Awesome!!! Congratulations!!!!

By looking at the list on page 1 - I am coming up with about 96 people that are participating in the FE. I'm not sure who the coordinator is for this group. Does anyone have a total # of people who have said they are participating? I want to finalize my gifts this week!

Her DIS name is in that info right under the descriptions. Maybe I should mesh those two lists. Sounds like people are finding it confusing.

Be right back--going to play with page 1 post 1. Then check it out and let me know if the meshing makes it easier to find the coordinator for an event, OK?

THANKS!!

I also think you should have gotten an e-mail this week from the coordinator concerning this. I am not doing FE so am not up to speed on that plan however.

Is someone bringing a young bovine on board? :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Goes well with the milk.

Well, you know Peg, that brother was sitting on the floor in front of the TV right beside Dianne and I as we watched the Mickey Mouse Club in the 50's. So we know there's a smidge of that gene in him somewhere!

.

I remember the Mickey Mouse Club, of course I would have been much younger than you bigger kids.

Well you can't beat the price:rotfl:

I must admit, I really only know one song by the group, but it will be fun. That will be a busy weekend as DH has an off site meeting in Santa Cruz from Thur nights, so the kids and I are going to stay with him and spend some time at the beach, may even try and find the Mystery Spot.

http://www.mysteryspot.com/index.shtml

"The Mystery Spot is a gravitational anomaly located in the redwood forests just outside of Santa Cruz, California. It is a circular area of effect around 150 feet or 46 meters in diameter. Within the Mystery Spot you will be stunned as your perceptions of the laws of physics and gravity are questioned. But don't take our word for it, come and decide for yourself!"

Good Catch :thumbsup2

Some have the GIFT of spelling -- I don't.

I just thought it was a funny play on words. LOL!

Not evryone carn spull az good az me! i'z the best-est!

-Kay

You give me too much credit. I am a literalist.
I do not understand or see puns when they happen.
I do not tease or take teasing well.
I do not "get" sarcasm.

Ian and Nan would sling the words with other DISers on the Westbound Panama Canal Cruise thread and I was totally lost or thought everyone should be mad at each other as it seemed so hurtful.

So, that was not a play on words, it was a plain and simple typo.

re: travel--do you camp? We have camped across the country. We used to live in upstate NY and then PA. Before our older son was a senior in High School we had been to the contiguous 48 states and Ontario, Canada.

DH decided that he wanted to try to do this so we even made his professional conferences into family trips and took odd routes.

We once went from PA to Kansas City by way of the Gulf of Mexico -- :scared1:

because

we had not been to Mississippi and Louisiana. :rotfl: We had a great time but our friends thought we were nuts. :upsidedow

Congratulations, Kay! I've seen the Counting Crows several times, and they rock.

If the recent L.A. shows are any indication, be there on time. Although the bill lists an opening act, the concert begins with ALL musicians performing together.

Not THAT much younger.
Well, yeh, I guess so in this case six years is a big difference.

We changed the time of family dinner because of the Mickey Mouse Club, so I'm told.

Gotcha. Will try to remember in future.

We do camp, but haven't done so for a while. We found it a lot of stress camping with little ones - not so much the camping, but getting everything together, pitching and striking the tent and packing everything away. It always seemed so much simpler when it was just DH and I, small tent, carrymat, sleeping bags and food. :rotfl2: Now it seems like relocating an army! The kids are getting older, so hopefully it should be easier, even though we still have to take the large multi-room tent.

We just find that we run out of time as a family to do this stuff. Next year we really must go back and visit family in the UK (won't have been back for 5, almost 6, years :scared1: That's a two week minimum trip, probably more as we want to have some time to vacation when we are over there. (Not just see family).

Thanks for the heads up Woody. We have to get there early to pick up tickets, so we will make sure to leave plenty of time. We have to get up to the Greek Theatre at Berkley - never been there before so should be fun!:woohoo:

Dinner came from the "____________Grill" (men ) I had fried chicken with brocolli, Peg has chicken and pasta in a cream sauce, he had baked chicken and fries. It was very tasty...whish I knew where I could get more next time....:lmao:I'll ask Peg to look at the debit charge so we'll know.

Peg said "Should we call Cheri for breakfast".....told her no calls before 8:30AM! (we were back from breakfast at 8;30).

Feel much better after a nap and a good night's sleep in my own bed.

Next mission: To work some overtime in the next 8 weeks and to start adding lots of steps into my day.

.

Probably The Gurley Street Grill, the place I told you had the rotisserie chicken. Next time you come up, we'll go there. They have good food!

As far as breakfast, yeah, good thing you didn't call!:lmao:

I wish!!! That would be nice. Might be possible if we hadn't taken so much time off already this year and we've got another week in Nov./Dec. to WDW. Can't have too many vacations, right?:lmao:

There's NO SUCH THING as too many vacations!:thumbsup2

I ate really clean the rest of the day - because my short were tight the entire drive home - must have been salt because I woke this morning feeling "normal". Although I'm sure some damage was done - after all I drank an entire bottle of wine by MYSELF in 2 days!:scared1:

Are you SURE it took TWO days????:lmao:

I'm not sure if any of you have read any trip reports by RV - Royal Viser I believe is his name... but this was written by him at the end of one of his trips reports... and it made me cry. I cannot wait to see just how much my brother responds to disney as he's already made a few comments to me teasing about leaving a note on his dry erase board... "and I could have been in Jackson Hole WY"... because that was where we were originally going to spend our Family Celebration... anyway - here is RV's words...

There is a Disney gene inside of all of us. True they come in all different sizes. Some are gargantuan while others are miniscule to downright microscopic. No matter its size, the Disney gene can not be located by any person of the medical profession, nor can it be located using scientific equipment. Microscopes can’t trace it. Computer models can not recreate its structure. A dose of medication can not fight against it. But one who has this gene, especially the larger scale ones, knows that it is there.

Upon delving into anything Disney, whether it is vacation planning, Disney shopping, listening to Disney music, looking through Disney photos, cruising on a Disney ship, or watching a Disney movie, the Disney gene begins to throb. Located near your heart, the Disney gene begins to vibrate and throb, fluttering against your heart creating immense feelings of joy, excitement, and happiness.

The gene feeds on Pixie Dust coursing through your veins. Everyone needs an injection of PD now and then, and I prefer my injection come in the form of a Disney cruise.

Thank you so much for hanging in with me for so long. I know that it took a long time, and for that I’m sorry. I never intend for these reports to take so long. Writing this account of my latest cruise was great fun for me. I love to re-live certain moments again, and remember what it was like as we glided across the ocean on the most Magical ship on the sea.

If you look down in my signature, you’ll see that we don’t have anything planned for the future. I might start a campaign to fill that empty space down there with ideas for my next family vacation. But in the mean time… I know that there are several readers leaving for Magic very soon, and to that I say….

Cruise on, all… cruise on… :boat:

Just wanted to share...

I love this...someone really has a way with words!

Well... Tonight at 6:40pm EST I will be sitting next to Hubby and friends eating extra buttered oil popcorn and watching Harry Potter!!! :thumbsup2 I heard it is really good and I can't wait to see it..

On the down side... This is the 1st HP movie we will be watching without our DS :guilty: but, I am sure there will be alot of 1st to come.. *sigh* So I am trying to stay strong, but I have a tissue in my pocket already..

Anyone else going to see it tonight? Our 1 theater had it playing at Midnight in 6 theaters and it was sold out in all 6 of them.. Jeeze!!!

I'm going to see it on Sunday. I didn't read the books, I tried to get into the first one but fantasy really isn't my thing. Movies, on the other hand, I'm into nearly everything. I've seen all the previous ones, but don't remember a lot. I think I'd better do a down and dirty review on Wikipedia!

More seriously, my condolences to you and your family. I haven't been active on the thread and didn't realize you'd lost your son.
