Those Roosevelts, they do get around!

Ian, wasn't one of Sr. Winston Churchill's ancestresses a Roosevelt?

I can't find anything on a family relationship that links together the Churchills and the Roosevelts.

Those Roosevelts really did get around. Alice Roosevelt was one of the great beauties of the day, and was one of the great Washington hostesses.

It is funny, because I had t-shirts of her father Teddy for our PC cruise.

I'm still trying to decide whether or not we are going to dress up on the cruise, or just be slobs. Suits are not an option, because I don't see the point.

My key decision is, whether or not I start ordering the accoutrements this weekend.

(I've even dragged Jackie in to helping me choose them)

You MAKE your own Mickey Ears? :confused3

Did you decide ruffles or no ruffles???? (Remember, you'll be eating in these!):lmao:

.

What a relief. Though I hope to not be doing any laundry on this cruise.

Well, with your own laundress(es) available the day before, there should be no need.

Potato chips?

Woody

Jan....I forgot to quote your question about Mickey Ears. I have the 'pattern' of the door ears from the DIS and just cut them out of felt and glue them to card stock (or an old file folder) and slap magnets on the back. I like the texture better than just paper ones. Did you think I meant Mickey ear hats? No. not that creative!

:yay:TONIGHT's THE NIGHT YOU CASTAWAY CLUB MEMBERS!:yay:

Think I'll call Cheri and remind her when she's done at Disneyland to get on the computer! When I went on line last night to make sure I didn't need to add anything to my 'wish list'....I couldn't get on!!! Forgot my ID changed from my e-mail address to a name. :sad2:

How exciting. I hope you can get everything that you want. Good Luck!

Dress up, definitely go with the ruffles, post pictures of each shirt and we'll help you pick.

That would spoil the element of surprise.

I know, I had the design on a door sign. That is why I said "those Roosevelt's get around."

Some American was in the Churchill geneology I thought.

Jan

Jenny Jerome was Churchill's mother. She was an American.

Yes, I thought you meant hats. You mean ears to put on the door room number, right. Felt is a nice touch! I used paper but may have to rethink that. Do you mind if I copy?

Jan...yes, you can 'copy' the felt idea! :thumbsup2

See Kay's links for the Churchill family story.

I read a biography of Jenny Jerome many years ago....there was a whole batch of American heiresses that came to Europe and married 'royalty' (or in this case, the younger brothers thereof) during that time.

....off to met Peg for breakfast.....

.

Hmmm--that name is not familiar. I thought it was someone I knew. Oh well.

SHOULD I know Jenny Jerome? :confused3

from all accounts, she was a bit of a tart! :lmao:

Winston was born less than 8 months after her wedding. Naughty Naughty in those days. She also had lots of affairs. Check out wiki-pedia on her.

But they did such things with such discretion and such style!
