:wave2: Donna!!

How are you & Harry doing?

Hi Monica! Harry has been having some health issues. Has been coughing something awful for months since he caught a cold. Just finished an antibiotic and is still hacking up a lung. I worry about him. He rarely complains so when he says he is miserable I know it is even worse than he will admit. I'm doing OK except I don't handle stress well and that affects me physically. Our extra long, cold winter and the stress of the economic meltdown hasn't helped anything.:sad2: I had to turn the heat on this morning to get the chill out of the air. I am so sick of being cold I promise I will not complain about the heat or humidity on this trip.

Yep, this old geezer stuff can get to a person!:scared1: Hopefully, this was just a bad year for us and things will improve.:goodvibes

OK, I am ready to stop complaining and start getting excited about this vacation.:thumbsup2 That picture of Cove Cafe really makes me want to get the party started!:jumping1:

And welcome to the newbies!

Donna - sorry that Harry has not been feeling well and the impact on you. I promise, warmer days are coming!

OK, I've been lurking around on this thread for a long time. There is sooo much going on that I have no idea where to start!
Can someone please give me a quick rundown of all the meets, dinners, tastings, etc. that you plan on doing as a group? I would like to join in on a few, but have no idea whats what. Thanks!:thumbsup2

As Donna pointed out, the events folks from this thread are organizing can be found on the first page of this thread.

Tastings, etc, are typically DCL events, and the best source of information is what DCL had organized on the previous Tortola cruises.

Well, so glad those that could - did book their ressies! Congrats to you on that. Wish it were our time... I'll feel better when we get ours in. Our family conference call went well - and we now have a better idea of who wants what, etc.

I'm really looking forward to many things on this trip - but of course am very excited about being with my enitre siblings on the MAGIC!

Sad about the fire at St. Thomas is it puts us "out" and looking for other family options.

I bought some sandals for my DH - as he had none except "water boots". So that's crossed off my list. :wizard:

Are we really in double digits now??? THAT IS SO AWESOME!!!!

National Chocolate Milkshake Day

Sounds like a good excuse to meet up embarkation day at deck 9 - milk from the self service drinks and chocolate syrup from the ice cream area!

BTW

Do we have tentative dates/times for some of the Dis events yet? I know I would like to join in some of them depending on when they take place.

WOW I got married on International Chocolate Day=what a wonderful day:yay: Woohoo!!

Deb - did you book this excursion? We were able to book this one, a couple of Palo ressies and most importantly our allotment of hours at Flounder's Reef:woohoo:

Hi Kristen....yes, I booked the Island tour beach and lunch excursion. If we're both doing it we could share a table and do lunch together. John is not interested in doing the beach. He said he'll just grab a chair with an umbrella and keep the drinks coming. I'll probably snorkel and be in the water a lot. We would love to sit with you and spend the day together. It sounds like lots of fun.

Tortola bound :yay::yay::yay::yay:
I'm PIF...now to get that pesky airfare completed....by the end of the week or die I say :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Hi guys, can't stay and chat (but you know I'd liked to) have to get the kids at school.

ME TOO!!!! WOOHOO!

Bring on the 14th! (right?)

All this talk about final payments, and looking at the countdown I've got on my desktop has good me starting to get somewhat geared up for this trip.

I've already got the travelling hat boxes packed!

I looked at the navigators from a previous Tortola cruise. I see that there is a formal night and a semi-formal night.

I don't do suits, not unless, I'm being interviewed, or attending a bar mitzvah. I also don't believe in wearing a suit, not unless they want to pay me to wear it. So therefore, it has to be costume or nothing.

We're still wrestling with whether or not we will pack our formal clothing.

After the the Panama Canal cruise, we have enough gear to put on a full road production of "Dinner at Eight!"

There will be published times for photos and autographs. On the Panama Canal cruise, too many people were disappointed to have not had a photo opportunity. I don't want to disappoint the fans this time. I'm going to see if I can elbow Cinderella out of the way.

I suppose we'll just dress like slobs on semi-formal night. If we pack clothing it will be for formal night and high tea. The high tea wear is day wear. I can't wear day wear to an evening event.

I also am not sure if we have the space in the garment bag for the tails, the afternoon attire AND the white dinner jackets for the semi-formal night. I suppose we could wear the tails again but with the fezzes? Maybe some scarlet waist sashes to get a sort of desert (or is that dessert), "Death on the Nile," effect going.

What is the point of semi-formal night anyway? Why have people pack and schlepp formal wear to wear only once? Why not just have 2 formal nights. I don't see the point of doing things by halves.

The one night we consciously do not dress up for is pirate night.
